Hana’s POV

I was just lodging around, watching short videos online to pass time when I suddenly had a nagging feeling. I tried several times to shake it off but it was useless. I did know what exactly was bothering me so I decided to tell Calvin about it, so nice I felt like it had to do with him.

On getting to our room, Calvin wasn't there nor was he in his office. I searched around the pack house but couldn't find him, I started panicking, I tried calling him but he wasn't answering my calls. I feared that something may have happened to him since he never informed me that he was going out.

“Luna, what is the problem?” The maid asked when she saw me frantically running around the apartment.

“Have you seen Alpha Calvin? I can't find him anywhere.”

“Alpha left a while ago. I heard him mention something about checking his health up. I didn't really hear what he was talking about since he was far from me and it was against work ethics to eavesdrop on people's conversations.” She answered as she also tried to explain that she did not intentionally listen in on Calvin' call. I was glad she heard him as it had provided me with all the information I needed.”

“Thank you.” I said as I rushed to grab my things and left. I went straight to the pack's clinic where he often went for his check up to look for him, just to make sure he’s okay, then I would be at ease. The moment I got to the clinic, I went straight to the pack doctor's office. Dr. Maribel was our pack doctor, a special family doctor and we all came to her for treatment.

“He would definitely be in her office.” I thought inside of me.

The moment I opened the door, my eyes shot straight into the office, only to meet with what I never expected. My phone slipped off my hand, crashing to the floor, my legs shook. I was on the verge of collapsing.

“What the fuck?” I screamed. Maribel stood half-naked in only a bikini, twirling all over Calvin while he groped and spank her ass.

“No way this could be happening!” The moment they heard my voice, they turned. Their eyes popped out wide to see me here at this time.

“What do you guys think you're doing?” I challenged them, storming towards them.

“Dr. Maribel, did you leave your medical job to seduce my mate?” I scolded her, my heart rippled with so much anger that I felt like hitting her so deep on the head.

“Why would you do such a thing to me?” I turned to Calvin, my eyes all teary. “Have you forgotten the promise you made to me on our wedding day? To be faithful to me?”

Out of anger, I descended on them but they dodged. I couldn't come here and not show them what I've got. Within a few seconds, the office was a total mess as I scattered and crashed the furniture, books and system.

“You both will certainly pay for this. I will only compensate you for the damage if you can prove yourself not to be a cheater.”

“I'll let everyone know.” I threatened. Taking a picture of them, I stormed out.

I returned back to the pack house where I ended up crying terribly in my room.

My mind got swallowed by the deep tempest I was in. Just as I was lost in my thoughts, my phone buzzed. Calvin was calling.

I reluctantly tapped on the green button, picking the call to throw further threats on him but suddenly, his voice came up.

"You should know your place Hana, you better keep this to yourself as it would bring you more harm if it is exposed. I'm doing this for our own benefit, this wouldn't have happened if you had given me a child. I'm trying to guard my position as the Alpha.”

“Maribel is gonna bear my heir since you can't. If you don't want me to go out to another woman, why don't you fulfill your responsibility as my Luna and give me an heir?”

The tears dropped even more. Hearing the mate I love so much saying this broke my heart. I felt like I was guilty for not being able to bear him a pup, at the same time there was nothing I could do.

“No need for you to panic, it's not a long term thing, I planned on letting her go after she has the baby and we could raise it as our own. Everything would go back as they were between us.”

While he spoke I could dictate an unmistakable mockery in his voice not that he tried to hide it. “I believe you've lost your mind, Calvin! Do you take me for a fool?” I lashed out at him, my fists were clenched, my fingers dug deep into my palm and I started bleeding but I was numb to the pain.

“Never in my wildest dream would I have thought you would do this to me. Are you trying to replace me? Is that why you're having an affair with her?”

“It doesn't matter, all this would have been avoided had it been you bore me an heir. You have no right to be angry at me, instead you should reflect on yourself instead.” He returned the mockery to me.

“You keep saying that I can't bear you a child, where do you so much believe this? Why can't you wait till we're done with our therapy and treatment? Why have you been so impatient?” I yelled, stamping my foot on the ground with so much tears in my eyes.

“It doesn't matter now,” he sighed. “I took some tests and discovered that there was nothing wrong with me, so in the end it is still your fault we don't have kids.”

Calvin' words hurt me so deeply, I slumped on the couch with tears streaming down my eyes. It hurts even more as his words were likely true, maybe I was the reason he doesn't have an heir.

“Calvin! Don't give up on me. Give me time to prove that I can bear your child, it's been just less than a year we got together, it's still too early for you to conclude that I can't bear a pup.” I said, trying my best to convince him.

“Well too bad, it's already late for that now. Maribel got pregnant after just one night, only the woman who bears my child can become my Luna soon.”

“So it turns out that you were lying about things returning to normal, were you just–”

He ended the call before I even got the chance to finish what I had to say. I was devastated, I sat on the couch staring at the ceiling as tears blurred my eyes, not knowing what to do next. My world was crashing down and I had no idea how to save it, all I could do was cry.

I started thinking about the time we've spent together, no matter how I thought about it I never saw any signs of betrayal and it was still a shock to me.

“Please! Let all this just be an awful nightmare and when I wake up everything will be back to normal. Goddess please bring him back to me.” I kept praying repeatedly to the moon goddess until I fell asleep on the couch.

I thought my prayers were answered. At around 10:30 PM that night, the doorbell rang and I sprang up to go answer. I knew it was Calvin because this tune rang differently from others visiting.

I was expecting the usual kiss he usually gave me each time he's back.

“Hun–” I called out to Calvin excitedly as I walked in front of him but my excitement vanished when I looked beside him to see Maribel caressing her tummy. She came home with Calvin.

So this is really serious?

“Oh no-ooo!” I screamed in shock.

Calvin placed his hand over Maribel’s waist, and she gave him a charming smile. “By the way, go and clean the guest room, you will be staying there from now on, she will be staying with me in the master bedroom, she has a child and needs more space.” He said and rudely pushed me aside as he walked into the apartment with Maribel in his arms, leaving me in shock.
