“Get away from her!” The voice behind us hit like a bullet. We both froze. I turned slowly, and there he was—Castillo “What did you do?” he growled. “I bonded,” I said calmly. “With him?” he roared, stepping closer. “You think he’s worthy of what runs through your blood? Of you?” Aether stepped in front of me. “She chose me,” he said firmly. “You lost her the moment you turned your back, the moment you abandoned her due to greed and uncertainty.” I was supposed to be Luna by mate bond but Alpha Castillo broke me with a harsh rejection. To him I wasn’t worthy to be his Luna, but now after discovering that I’m not just Maybel the pack apprentice healer, but the last Vessel of the moon goddess he wouldn’t let me be with Alpha Aether; my new mated bond. Struggling with Alpha Aether’s hunting past, battling with Castillo’s new Luna who wouldn’t rest until she steals my power, and upholding my new identity as the goddess vessel, I’m wondering how I would cope with these burdens bestowed on me. Find out how May navigates through Fate and destiny, and how she copes with two Alpha fighting for her love.

Chapter 1 of Rejected by my Alpha, the moon goddess chose me.

May’s Pov.

The evening air was filled with the scent of roses and burning incense, caressing through the crowds. The night was serene as petals and shadowed plantations beautify the premises. The moon shone bright above, making the premises glowy, as the wolves of the BlueCrest pack were gathered. Tonight was a big deal— Our Alpha was about to be crowned and his mate would be revealed.

And me? I was just there to serve wine and patch up any injuries.

I adjusted the leather purse at the side of my waist, and my hands wouldn’t stop trembling. My purse was torn and old and packed with poultices, bandages, ointments, and calming herbs. Those were the tools I used as a healer’s apprentice. These were what defined my place in the pack– just a healer and nothing more.

I was meant to stay in the background. That is my role as always, though it sucks but I was already used to it.

Everything seemed fine until I looked up—and saw him.

Alpha Castello!

He looked like he stepped right out of a hall of golden flames. A very dominant figure, broad shoulders wrapped in a black ceremonial clothing, a well-defined chiseled jaw, and eyes like thunderclouds—cold and wild, impossible to hold. Both every female wolf and half the males tried.

He moved through the crowd, followed by his Beta and the candidate for his mate, Ceryn. Her platinum braid sparkled in the moonlight. The pack adored her—she had a powerful lineage, a strong wolf, with a perfect shift, and had been groomed since birth to be Luna.

I felt so small next to her, so irrelevant, and then... everything changed

Castello turned to face me, his eyes locked onto mine.

Time stopped! My breath trembled, and my heart palpitated like it would break free from my ribs. The cheers and the chatters made by the wolves all faded away, leaving a thud of silence between us. It felt like he and I were in a different world, just the two of us.

And just like that, our bond moved into place like a thunderstorm in my soul, and I begin to shift

Fated mate!

It wasn’t just wishful thinking. It was real, not expected, or explainable.

He widened his eyes, he was shocked, he barely knew me so he didn’t expect that i

Would be his fated mate. I put my hands to my chest, I could feel a sharp and excruciating pain underneath my ribs, because there and then, I felt something I hadn’t felt before.

My wolf stirred.

The one everyone said I didn’t have. The one I had wished to have since I was eight. She whispered a name through the shock.

*Castillo.*

But then his expression shifted. The lit and eagerness I saw in his eyes earlier changed to horror, disgust, and anger.

He approached me, his moves were fast and unpredictable, his approach wasn't in a welcoming way, but more like disdain or hate

“No,” he growled, but in a low tone that only a few wolves nearby heard him, other wolves turned towards our direction, as they sensed the tension in the air.

I stood shaking, my mouth a bit widened, it felt dry and sour as my heart palpitated.

“No,” he said again, this time more loudly. “This is a mistake, You are not my mate.” Everyone screamed with surprise, as they murmured and glared at me mockingly

.

I opened my mouth to say something, perhaps to plead, to explain what I’m feeling, what I knew, but no words came out.

Castillo grabbed Ceryn’s hand and pulled her forward, placing her in front of him like a shield. He grabbed her waist and stared at her subtly with satisfaction.

“I reject the bond,” he finally said, as his eyes turned back at me, instantly cold. “You are not worthy of me.” He shouted

Gasps swirled through the crowd. Someone dropped a wine glass and it shattered into pieces, another echoed; “Look she’s glowing.”

Of course I was.

My skin shimmered brightly in the moonlight, I was shifting as my fingers trembled vigorously with immense glow. I felt warm, like something in me had awakened. I hadn’t imagined the bond; the Goddess had chosen me.

But Castillo had just spat in her face. He didn’t seem to care. He turned away, his cloak snapping behind him like a judge’s gavel, and kissed Ceryn right there just right after he had torn my soul apart. It was obvious I was wounded, and I staggered back my knees giving way.

And then my wolf… howled. I shook profusely as she let out a heart-wrenching scream of pain and distress, that no one else could hear aside from me. Then she vanished, her presence pulled deep into the back of my mind, like a door being slammed shut.

I collapsed to the ground in silence. Everyone began to depart from the premises one by one, I was too weak to move, to talk, or to stand and nobody cared to help. Even my friend Lucy ignored me. I saw her walk past me following Ceryn.

Her demeanor and attitude changed, she behaved like she didn’t know me, like we didn’t see and speak two nights before. It was obvious she now works for Ceryn. I was frightened and in so much pain, I had no one come to help me as I lay there in the cold of the night

Castillo didn’t flinch nor did he give a damn about how his rejection made me feel.

I looked up and surprisingly the glowy silver moon above me suddenly turned red. A red moon? Everyone in the whole of WolfCrest world knew that wasn’t a good sign, what could had triggered it? I pondered.

His Betrayal Cost Me My Wolf And My Legs
The day before the final, my mate orchestrated a devastating scheme to ensure his favored talent, Francesca, would claim victory in the Pack Talent Show and steal the spotlight. As Alpha of the Blue Fang Pack, Leonard Howell’s word was law, and he used his authority to arrange a car accident that left me unable to shift into my wolf form or stand ever again. When I regained consciousness in the pack’s infirmary, the sterile scent of antiseptic filled the air. Leonard sat beside me, his towering frame dominating the room, his muscles tense even as he casually peeled an apple. His voice was calm, almost detached, as he said, "Arianna, hang in there a bit longer. The Healer says there’s a chance for your legs, so be patient. I’ll call him soon." His words sparked a flicker of hope within me. I reached for the call button, desperate to summon the Healer. But Leonard’s hand shot out, pressing mine down with an iron grip. The strength of an Alpha was overwhelming, and I felt my wrist ache under the pressure.
Just like the evening breeze leaves no trace
Just like the evening breeze leaves no trace
Chapter 1 It was their seventh wedding anniversary. Carolyn found the divorce agreement in Roger’s nightstand. The pages were covered in scribbles and corrections, as if he’d agonized over them for years. *"If, during the marriage, I fall in love with another person, I voluntarily relinquish all assets and leave with nothing. Asset details as follows…"* His first impulse had been to walk away empty-handed. But the asset section told a different story—a mess of revisions. First, he’d crossed out the property he intended to give her. Then, the fifty million earmarked for her was scratched out and replaced with five hundred thousand. Finally, as if in penance, he had written a single line. *"Better to have Carolyn leave with nothing. No choice, Catherine is pregnant."* … Carolyn sank onto the bed, disbelief washing over her. On the agreement, Roger’s signature was clean and decisive, without a hint of hesitation. And the document had been drafted seven years ago—the very year they married. That year, Roger had been willing to give up everything for her. Yet every year after, he had crossed out another piece of their shared life. Now, seven years later, the one leaving with nothing would be her. Her phone buzzed abruptly. A message from Roger. *"Urgent business. Won't be back."* She called, only to find his phone already switched off. Another notification flashed—a screenshot from a friend. Catherine, the student she sponsored, had posted on social media. *"Wow, got praised! To commemorate my first period without a leak, the big boss said we should celebrate properly!"* In a nine-photo collage, Roger gazed at her, eyes crinkling with affection as he fastened a dazzling gemstone necklace around her neck. The post was tagged at a couples-themed hotel. Carolyn’s breath caught. He couldn’t remember seven years of marriage, of weathering storms together—but he could find the energy to celebrate Catherine’s… leak-free period. And that pendant… she’d seen it at an auction just last week. It was her mother’s lost heirloom. She’d been ready to bid when her bank card was frozen. She’d asked Roger why. A long time later, he finally texted back, telling her not to waste money on such impractical things. Clutching her bidding paddle, she’d sat helplessly in the auction hall. In the end, she resolved to sell one of her own designs to raise the funds. But someone on the phone swooped in with an unbeatable offer and took it. For weeks afterward, Carolyn hated herself—hated that she couldn’t protect her mother’s last keepsake. She never imagined the one who snatched it away was Roger. He knew exactly how much that pendant meant to her. Yet he gave it to Catherine. Even on their seventh anniversary, Roger had lied about being busy with work, while wining and dining the girl she’d sponsored. The anniversary gift he left her was a divorce agreement demanding she leave with nothing. Seven years of marriage. Seven years of infidelity. And Carolyn had known nothing. She’d even introduced the other woman to him herself. Catherine was the impoverished student Carolyn sponsored. The first time Catherine came to their home to give thanks, Roger found her intrusive and disliked her on sight. *"That girl has no manners. Tracked mud all over my cashmere rug."* *"If her grades aren’t up to par, cut the sponsorship."* Back then, Carolyn had teased him, saying not to be jealous—it was good the girl had a grateful heart. She never once suspected Roger and Catherine. For seven years, everyone in their circle believed Roger never played around. That he loved only Carolyn. But by their next meeting, Catherine had become Roger’s personal assistant. Roger explained, *"The girl’s had it tough. You’ve sponsored her for years. Giving her a job is just helping you out."* Carolyn had laughed it off. Now, hands trembling, she opened Catherine’s social media feed. Catherine had always hidden her posts from Carolyn. Now, she seemed desperate to flaunt everything. While Carolyn drank until her stomach bled to secure a deal for Roger, Catherine was using Roger’s card to buy her first Louis Vuitton. While Carolyn changed bedpans for Roger’s bedridden grandmother, Roger was taking Catherine to a perfume atelier for a blending class—calling it a business trip. Catherine had even complained online. *"Your wife is such a pampered princess. Can't handle the tiniest thing without you running back. Can she not live without a man?"* And Roger had replied beneath it. *"If she were half as independent as you, I’d have an easier life."* But that day… Carolyn’s mother had lost her battle with cancer. She’d cried until her heart felt shredded, scrambling to handle the arrangements. All the while, Roger kept checking his phone impatiently, eager to leave. Not for work, she realized now—but because he was desperate to get back to Catherine.
