My Husband Is Not A Protector, But A Destroyer Of My Life

However, I found something far more horrifying—the letter selling my and my mother's kidneys. My hands shook as I read the contents of the letter.

My chest tightened even more when I found the lab results from the hospital. My husband's new lie was exposed.

"Dylan, you were so good at acting. That piece of paper is yours. So, it's not me who's infertile, it's you!" I squeezed the paper tightly, anger and disappointment mixed together.

I couldn't stay still. With all my might, I escaped through the warehouse window, clutching tightly all the evidence of Dylan's crimes.

"I have to hand these documents over to the police. I also need a lawyer," I muttered hurriedly, running in the darkness of the night.

However, my steps halted. My heart skipped a beat as the car's headlights shone on my body. Within seconds, my body was flung into the air, before finally hitting the asphalt hard.

I lay limp, my vision beginning to blur. A male figure walked over, his steps calm, full of satisfaction.

"You think you can report me, Gisella?" the voice sounded familiar, accompanied by a cold, ear-piercing laugh.

I tried to open my eyes, even though the pain all over my body made it difficult to move. "Dylan, it was you who hit me," my voice was weak, but my anger was still burning. I clutched the document in my hand, the only evidence of his crime.

However, Dylan easily snatched it away. His hands pressed against the wounds on my body, causing me even more pain.

"I'll be the first to offer my condolences on your death," he whispered hatefully.

My tears fell. Not because of this wound, but because of the cruelty of the man I once loved. Dylan left, leaving me in a dying state.

"It seems my destiny is near," I whispered softly. This chest felt so tight. "God, if I'm reborn, please give me a chance to live with happiness." Slowly, everything became dark.

I woke up with a gasp. My vision was blurry, but I could feel that my body was full of medical instruments. Pain radiated throughout my body. I tried to move my fingers, making sure I was still alive.

A voice sounded, chuckling slightly. "You finally came to your senses after two months in critical condition."

I turned my head weakly. "Two months?" I asked, almost in disbelief.

The man nodded. "Yes, two months ago I found you lying on the road. I took you to the hospital, but the equipment there wasn't enough to save you. So, I brought you to Sydney. I have acquaintances here."

I stared at him, still having trouble digesting reality. "Sydney?" I said softly.

All the memories suddenly came back. Two months ago, I almost died because of some asshole named Dylan.

"Where's my cell phone?" I asked suddenly.

"Your phone is broken, but I've asked someone to fix it. He'll be here soon," the man replied calmly.

I breathed a sigh of relief. The cell phone was the only evidence I had. I had secretly photographed all of Dylan's crime documents.

"Thank you for helping me, sir," I said sincerely. "Excuse me, can I borrow your cell phone for a moment?"

Without hesitation, the man handed it to me. I hurriedly searched Dylan and Alexa's social media. However, what I saw made my chest feel like it had been hit with a sledgehammer.

A picture of their wedding was prominently displayed on the screen.

"No way," I whispered, hands shaking. I thought they were just engaged, but they were married?

My heart broke. My tears fell without me being able to hold them back. I bit my lip, holding back the anger that began to flare up.

"Why are you crying?" the man asked, seeing my reaction.

I didn't answer. I continued to scroll through Dylan and Alexa's posts, and found a video of their engagement.

I played it.

"You must be wondering why I'm engaged to Mr. Dylan, and where is Gisella right now?" Alexa spoke in the video, smiling pretentiously.

Dylan then continued, "Alexa and I decided to get engaged after getting permission from Gisella. Currently, Gisella is very ill. Her time may not be long. And she asked me to marry Alexa so that I wouldn't be alone."

My hands clenched into fists. My chest rumbled.

Dylan had lied to everyone. I'd never given permission, let alone consented to their marriage.

"Starting today, I'm going to put together a revenge plan that was blocked two months ago!" my voice shook, full of determination.

The man looked at me deeply. "Who do you want revenge on?" he asked.

I held up my phone and showed him the faces of two people on the screen. "Them."

The man was silent for a moment, then sighed. "So, you want to destroy Alexa? Interesting... because she's my ex-wife."

I widened my eyes. "Your ex-wife?"

He nodded, his expression full of hatred. "Back then, Alexa set me up. She forced me to marry her while she was pregnant with someone else's child. But after the marriage, she took some of my property and left her child to me. Apparently, it was all for Dylan."

I was almost speechless. "So you knew Dylan?"

"Of course. He's my greatest enemy. My father died because he was killed by his family." He looked at me sharply. "We have a common enemy. What if we work together to destroy them both?"

I stared at his for a long time. A fire of vengeance blazed inside me.

"Interesting deal," I muttered, then held out a hand. "Let's get this game started."

The man grinned. His hand grasped mine tightly.
