Two days had passed since I woke up from the hell Dylan had created. Thanks to Brian, I had regained the strength I had lost. However, it wasn't just my physique that had recovered. The fire inside my chest now burned even brighter, demanding revenge.
We sat together in the living room, discussing the first steps to destroying Dylan's men.
"Gisella, I've started investigating based on the evidence you provided. And I found a story that was released two months ago, just one day before Dylan's wedding," Bryan said, handing me his cell phone.
My hand trembled as I took it. But what shook me more was the content of the news on the screen.
"Mrs. Gisella reportedly died from her illness."
"Mr. Dylan was forced to marry to fulfill his wife's last wish!"
I felt the air around me thin out.
They said I was dead?
With trembling hands, I pressed the screen, to playing a video. Instantly, I felt sick to my stomach watching it.
Dylan stood in front of the altar, wearing a black suit with a face full of sorrow. Fake grief. Alexa was beside him, smiling faintly, as if she was the victim left behind.
"My wife and I have been separated by fate," Dylan's voice trembled in the video.
"And now my wife has chosen the destiny of love for me before she died. She has died because her body could not withstand her worsening illness," he said again.
I squeezed my chest, which felt tight. My eyes burned with tears—not of sadness, but of searing anger.
Dylan, that bastard.
"We have to do it now! I don't want him to live happily without any guilt!" I exclaimed, handing Brian his cell phone back with a vengeful glare.
Brian looked at me for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I've come up with a plan. Let's start by destroying his image. I'll spread the evidence of his affair with Alexa!"
I quickly sent all the evidence to Brian. Within minutes, intimate photos of Dylan and Alexa were all over social media.
Just like Brian said, we sat back and watched their downfall.
"Mr. Dylan and Mrs. Alexa's affair!"
The headline was plastered everywhere. I read the comments that flooded the internet with satisfaction.
"I doubt Mr. Dylan's words about Mrs. Gisella wanting him to get married. Maybe it's just an excuse!"
"What an asshole! No wonder Mrs. Gisella died, perhaps her mind was tormented!"
"Mrs. Gisella's death seems suspicious. Especially since the funeral was done in private!"
I gasped as I read the last comment.
"Brian, did you know about my funeral?" I asked in a trembling voice.
Brian looked at me for a moment, then nodded. "Yes. Dylan even broadcast it live. I'll show you the video."
As soon as the video played, I felt like I'd been thrown into a deep pit of darkness.
My funeral was so quiet. There were only a handful of people, all faces I didn't recognize. There were no genuine cries, no real grief. Dylan stood there with teary eyes, but I knew those tears were just a mask.
And Alexa, that damn woman was standing by his side, hugging him lovingly!
"Damn it! You asshole!" I yelled angrily, my hands clenched tightly.
Brian immediately grabbed my shoulders. "Calm down, Gisella. You're just recovering."
I caught my breath with difficulty. "Thank you, Brian, for helping me."
Suddenly, Brian's cell phone rang. One of his bodyguards informed me that Dylan and Alexa were doing a live broadcast to clarify the news.
I smiled wryly. "Good. I want to see how he lies this time."
We sat together in front of the screen, watching him speak with a confident expression.
"I've been reluctant to respond to this, but now that it's all out in the open, I'll be honest. Yes, I did have a relationship with Alexa!" said Dylan.
The whole room went silent. I was shocked. Everyone was shocked.
But I knew it wasn't over yet.
Suddenly Dylan smiled slyly. "However, I had my reasons. After Gisella betrayed me and ran off with another man, I had no choice but to find an outlet. Alexa is the woman who healed my heartache."
My heart skipped a beat.
"I witnessed Mrs. Gisella's affair myself," Alexa continued with a face full of falsehood. "Mr. Dylan originally just wanted to make her jealous, but we ended up falling in love."
My blood boiled.
"Asshole! He manipulates everyone!" Brian said angrily.
I stared at the screen with a murderous gaze. He wasn’t just betraying me—he was killing me a second time.
I picked up my cell phone and handed it to Bryan. "Investigate the sale of my kidney and my mother. And spread this video."
Brian gave me a sharp look. "I understand."
I wouldn't let them get away. Never.
Dylan and Alexa may think they've won, but they don't know another shocker is coming.
