My Ex-Husband's Betrayal

AVA:

The slam of the front door jolted me out of my nap. I had to sit up all of a sudden only to see my husband, Damian, approaching me like he wanted to tear me apart. Instantly, I became scared.

"Damian, what's going—" I started to say but he cut me off with a snap.

"Don't you dare say my name after what you've done!"

Confusion hit me as soon as he said that. This was allegedly from the lack of comprehension of his words and I couldn't even hide it.

"What are you talking about?" I asked. "What did I do?"

Instead of responding to my question, he threw a stack of photos on to the center table. I couldn't bring myself to pick up the photos. I only leaned to take a peak and what I saw only increased my confusion.

Right there were pictures of me and Jared eating at a restaurant. Jared was a close friend who came visiting over the weekend and asked to see me so we could catch up on old times.

"Why do you have pictures of me and Jared?" I had to ask. I still wasn't getting the point of him showing me such pictures.

"So you're admitting to being a pathetic cheat, right?"

My eyes darted up like a shooting arrow. "What!?"

"How long have you been doing it behind my back? How long?" Damian snapped again.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I've never cheated on you. Jared is just a friend. These pictures you have of me and him are just pictures of us meeting up to talk," I explained. But my voice was already shaky due to the fact that I was struggling to stay composed.

"Don't you dare lie to me! I'm not stupid. There's evidence here that proves your infidelity!"

"Damian, you've got it all wrong. I would never cheat on you. Never!" I stated while hoping I was getting through to him.

"You shouldn't waste your time with her..."

I turned to see Caroline coming through the door. She had this smug expression plastered on her face and it irritated me especially knowing how much she has been trying to get in the way of me and Damian.

"Why is she here?" I asked Damian in a trembling voice.

"I'm here to prove that you're nothing but a cheat. You acting like you're so innocent is just a facade and you and I know it," Caroline said with a smirk.

"What lies have you been feeding him? That's why you're here, isn't it? To feed him more lies. You won't—"

"Enough!" Damian barked. "I want you to get out of my house this instant, Ava!"

I felt air escape my lungs for about five seconds before I got a hang of myself. "Are you kicking me out?" I quizzed.

"What else does it look like I'm doing? Don't make me repeat myself, Ava." He roughly dragged me by the arm and pushed me to the floor.

I ignored the pain I felt on my hips and got on my knees. "Please, don't do this to me, Damian. Where will I go? I have no one," I pleaded with him with tears threatening to seep out of my eyes.

"You lying cheating whore. You don't deserve to be here! There's nothing you can say that will change the fact that you're a cheat."

"I've never cheated on you. I've always been faithful. I promise, I'm not lying."

I tried grabbing him by the leg but he turned away from me. He then walked out of the living room while I stayed on the floor helpless.

"You heard him, didn't you?" Caroline said with a sneer as she started to head out as well. "Better get to packing."

I stayed on my knees for a long time. What was I going to do? How will I survive out there with nothing?

Unconsciously, my went to my stomach. I just realized that my survival out there isn't going to be about me alone at this point. This is going to be about me and the tiny life growing inside me. The tiny life Damian never got to know about.
