I Rejected My Ruthless Alpha

I clutched the pack reports to my chest as I stepped into Maximus's private office. The room smelled of him—pine and winter frost, a scent that once made my heart race with longing. Now it just reminded me of how cold he'd become. The door clicked shut behind me. I'd only meant to drop off the documents and leave, but his laptop sat open on the mahogany desk. A small black drive peeked out from beneath a stack of papers. Something compelled me forward. Perhaps it was the Moon Goddess herself, tired of watching me suffer in ignorance. Chapter 1 of I Rejected My Ruthless Alpha

I slid into his leather chair, my fingers trembling as I touched the keyboard. The screen brightened, revealing a password prompt. I tried our anniversary date—a desperate hope that some part of him still honored what we once had.

Access denied.

His mother's birthday? The pack's founding date?

Then, on a whim, I typed in Camille's birthday.

The drive unlocked.

My stomach twisted as I clicked through folders labeled by date. Each one contained hundreds of photos—intimate moments captured in high definition. Camille laughing in a silk robe. Maximus's hands tangled in her hair. Their bodies pressed together in ways that made my wolf whimper in betrayal.

Nearly two thousand photos. Years of documentation. A parallel life lived right under my nose.

"Luna Olivia."

His voice sliced through the room like a blade of ice. I hadn't heard him enter.

Maximus stood in the doorway, his massive frame blocking the exit. His eyes—those silver eyes I'd once believed held love for me—narrowed as he took in the scene.

"You shouldn't be in here," he said, his voice dangerously soft.

I couldn't move. Couldn't breathe. The photos burned on the screen behind me, evidence of his betrayal glowing like a neon sign.

"Two thousand photos, Maximus." My voice cracked. "Two thousand."

He crossed the room in three long strides, his Alpha aura expanding to fill the space between us. It pressed against my skin like a physical weight, pinning me to the chair.

"You had no right," he growled, but there was no shame in his eyes. Only anger that I'd discovered his secret.

I watched as he leaned down and deleted the entire folder with a few keystrokes. Years of memories vanished before my eyes.

"Stop it," I whispered, tears streaming down my face. "Just stop lying to me."

"I'm protecting you," he said coldly.

"Protecting me?" I laughed, a hollow sound that echoed in the sterile office. "I'm your mate, Maximus. Your Luna. And you've been—" I couldn't finish the sentence.

"And you want what, exactly?" He straightened, towering over me. "To end this? To reject our bond?"

"Yes," I whispered, the word barely audible. "Please."

Something flickered in his eyes—not compassion, but fury. His Alpha aura surged, crushing against my chest until I gasped for air.

"Between us, there is only death, never a rejection."

---

Hours later, I collapsed in the hallway outside our bedroom. The pain had started as a dull ache but quickly blossomed into something that felt like my chest was being torn apart from the inside.

My wolf, usually a quiet presence in my mind, howled in agony.

I dragged myself to Elena's clinic, avoiding the main corridors where pack members might see me. The healer's eyes widened when I stumbled through her door.

"Luna Olivia! What's happened?"

"Check me," I managed before collapsing onto her examination table.

Elena's hands glowed with healing energy as she scanned my body and aura. Her expression grew increasingly grave.

"How long has this been happening?" she asked softly.

"Weeks," I admitted. "But it's worse today."

She nodded, her eyes filling with a compassion that made my throat tighten. "I need to run some tests."

The next hour passed in a blur of machines and magic. Elena's face grew paler with each result.

"Luna," she finally said, sitting beside me on the examination table. "I need to be honest with you."

Something in her tone made my wolf go silent with dread.

"The mate bond—it's failing," she said gently. "Not just weakening. Failing completely."

"What does that mean?"

Elena took my hands in hers. "Your human body and your wolf... they're both dying, Olivia. The neglect, the emotional separation—it's destroyed your core connection."

"How long?" I whispered.

"Months," she replied, her voice breaking. "Maybe less."

---

The cemetery was quiet in the late afternoon light. I stood alone on the freshly dug earth of my own burial plot.

"Yes, I'd like to purchase this one," I told the groundskeeper who stood at a respectful distance. "And I'll pay cash. No pack funds."

The older werewolf nodded solemnly. "As you wish, Luna."

I knelt on the soft dirt, running my fingers through it. This would be my final home—not the cold marble mausoleum where Alphas and Lunas were traditionally interred, but this simple plot beneath an oak tree.

"It's beautiful," I whispered to myself.

For the first time in years, I felt something other than pain or despair. I felt free.

I would die here, but I would do it on my terms. Not as Maximus's forgotten Luna, but as Olivia Adams—the woman I'd been before the mate bond consumed me.

The wind rustled through the leaves above, carrying the scent of pine and possibility. My wolf stirred within me, no longer howling in agony but humming with a strange sense of peace.

We would face death together—but first, we had a story to tell.

After My Husband Chose His Mistress Over Our Dying Daughter
After My Husband Chose His Mistress Over Our Dying Daughter
While recovering from childbirth, my husband, Damien, was brought home drunk from a bar by some friends, with a woman at his side. He vomited everywhere, and I silently stayed by his side all night. When he finally opened his eyes, the first thing he said was, "She's pregnant. Let's get divorced." I didn't cry or make a scene, just calmly nodded. In my past life, I took my wrapped-up baby out into the street and caused a commotion. Soon, the woman was known as a homewrecker across our small town, and in her despair, she jumped into a river. Damien was fired for misconduct, but he never blamed me. On our daughter's first birthday, he set fire to the yard, killing me, our child, and my parents. In those final moments, I saw his twisted smile as he said, "Go down and keep my Gwendolyn company." Then, I opened my eyes again, back to the moment he told me about the divorce. "Gwendolyn is different from you.
Betrayed Mate: Choosing True Love Path
Betrayed Mate: Choosing True Love Path
My hands trembled as I stood at the edge of the ceremonial circle, watching the other seniors of our pack take their turns. The Coming of Age Ceremony was everything in werewolf society—the moment when our abilities would be fully tested, our ranks determined, our futures set. The scent of pine needles and burning sage filled the night air, and the full moon hung heavy above us, its silver light bathing the clearing in an ethereal glow. Ryan stood across the circle, his dark hair gleaming under the moonlight, those green eyes finding mine with the same reassurance they'd offered since we were pups. My heart fluttered as it always did when he looked at me. We'd been raised with the understanding that we were destined mates—our families had planned it, the pack expected it, and I had built my entire future around it. "Sophia Williams," Elder Marcus called, his Alpha voice resonating through the clearing. I stepped forward, my white ceremonial dress billowing around my ankles. Inside me, my wolf—Sarah—stirred anxiously. *We should show our full strength*, she whispered in my mind.

My Husband Swapped Our Baby with His Mistress’s Son
My Husband Swapped Our Baby with His Mistress’s Son
The steering wheel slicked under my palms, my knuckles white ridges against the leather. Rain lashed the windshield of my sedan, blurring the Manhattan skyline into a smear of weeping gray. I checked the dashboard clock again. 2:14 PM. Collin’s prep began at 2:30. My son needed a piece of my liver to survive, and I would tear this city apart with my bare hands to get to him. In the rearview mirror, a black SUV loomed, its grille a steel maw swallowing the distance between us. I changed lanes. It followed. Another flanked me on the right, boxing me in against the concrete divider of the FDR Drive.
