Chapter 1 of My Ex-Husband Went Insane After Watching Me Marry My First Love
The award-winning housekeeper purposely left detergent on the floor while mopping, making me, five months pregnant, tumble down the stairs.
The doctor tried calling Noah Garcia over thirty times, but he never answered.
I had no choice but to bear the pain and sign the operation consent form on my own.
By the time I woke up, my once-swollen belly had become flat.
Before I could even mourn the loss, I heard the nurse speaking quietly with the doctor.
“That pregnant woman inside is really unfortunate. She was five months pregnant when she fell down the stairs, but her husband’s phone couldn’t be reached at all.”
“Since the delay took too much time, the baby who could’ve lived also lost breath and died. When the doctor called once more, the husband was busy messing around with his own maid!”
After hearing that, tears quickly rolled down my face.
Before I passed out, I kept making up reasons for Noah in my mind many times.
Maybe work kept him too occupied to pick up the call.
Maybe his phone died, or maybe something happened near him.
But in the end, the truth was too painful!
I didn’t want to accept it, but the doctor suddenly played a recording outside the room.
Noah’s cold voice rang from outside the door.
“Didn’t she already sign the operation consent form? I’m helping the maid change clothes right now. If the baby is gone, then it’s gone.”
After he spoke, a quiet moan sounded from the other side of the phone.
A second later, the recording suddenly stopped with a beep.
Thinking about the baby the maid caused to die, I pressed my nails deeply into my palm until blood came out.
Then I called my father’s number.
“Dad, I’ve agreed to the divorce and remarriage. I only need you to accept one request.”
The man on the other end of the call agreed right away.
My eyes turned red as I made a promise in my heart.
I would make Noah and that so-called top housekeeper suffer together in hell!

I held up my sore, weak body and asked the doctor for the final thing the baby left behind in this world.
After the cremation, I gently put it inside a jar before turning back toward the villa.
The moment I walked in, I saw the bright red decorations in the living room.
While I was fighting for my life on the operating table, the two of them were enjoying a candlelight dinner!
Millie Spencer smiled as she brought broccoli to Noah’s mouth.
And Noah willingly ate it.
He used to hate broccoli the most.
Back when we first started dating, I once tried feeding Noah broccoli, but he coldly pushed my hand away and walked off after shaking his sleeve.
Later, he apologized to me and said that his mother, Ariana Garcia, used to ignore what he liked and forced him to eat broccoli.
That became part of his childhood trauma.
But now, when Millie fed him broccoli, he ate it without any hesitation.
I froze where I stood, and the anger inside me almost burned me completely.
Only after a long time did they notice I was there.
Noah quickly pulled Millie behind him, his eyes full of caution as he looked at me.
I suddenly thought about the past, when he used to shield me behind him the same way.
Noah once told me he’d always keep me safe.
And he really did.
No matter who came after me, even people from the Garcia family, he always stood in front of me to protect me.
But now, the person beside him had become someone else.
And I became the person he guarded against.
I forced a smile, my eyes dull and empty.
Seeing that, Noah slowly let go of his hand and tried walking toward me.
But at that moment, Millie spoke first.
“Ma’am, please don’t get the wrong idea. President Garcia only thought you looked upset at the hospital, so he asked me to practice your fifth anniversary surprise early.”
“He really cares about you. Every meal on this table was cooked by President Garcia himself.”
Millie looked at Noah with worry all over her face while speaking.
A soft emotion also appeared in Noah’s expression.
I only found it funny and pulled the corners of my lips.
“Housekeeper Millie, what right do you have to step into the problems between Noah and me?”
“The detergent you failed to clean from the stairs caused my child’s death, and I still haven’t dealt with you for that!”
Millie stayed calm, and the way she looked at me even carried disrespect.
“Ma’am, I already explained that matter to President Garcia. I truly didn’t mean to do it.”
“President Garcia is kind enough not to blame me. She can forgive me, too, can’t you? After all, I work hard to support myself, unlike her, who depends on President Garcia.”
My whole body shook from the mocking look in her eyes.
The next second, I suddenly raised my hand and slapped her hard across the face!
“So what if Noah forgives you? You killed my child, yet you don’t even feel sorry. My baby never even got the chance to see this world once!”
“I won’t forgive you. I’m sending you to prison!”
After saying that, I shakily pulled out my phone and prepared to call the police.
But Noah knocked my phone to the floor in one quick move, his brows tightly pulled together as he shouted:
“Brielle! Are you done causing problems yet?”
“I already told you I forgave Millie, so why are you still targeting her? It was only a child. We can have another one later. Can’t you be more understanding?”
Noah shoved my hand so hard that it instantly swelled.
My phone also broke into pieces.
Hearing Noah’s shameless words, my whole body shook badly, as I’d collapse at any second.
I fell down the stairs, yet he never came to the hospital or answered my calls.
Instead, he had a candlelight dinner with the housekeeper.
Our baby died, but he didn’t care at all. He even protected the person responsible!
The way Noah looked at me was full of arrogance and disgust.
It was like he was sure I’d step back for his sake.
After all, I chased after him for three whole years before Noah finally got together with me.
For him, I threw away the pride I had as the eldest daughter of the Simpson family.
The love letters I sent to Noah could probably circle Casa Grande many times.
To win his love, I even sincerely prayed to God.
No matter when he called, I always answered him.
Even after we became a couple, I was always the first to give in whenever we fought.
I lowered myself too much for him.
But now, I didn’t want to bow my head anymore.
I looked at Noah coldly and let out a mocking smile.
“Noah, do you really think you can protect Millie? Did you forget I’m the eldest daughter of the Simpson family?”
Noah’s brows tightened deeply.
“Brielle, for something this small, you want to involve the Simpson family? I already told you she didn’t mean it. What exactly do you want before you stop targeting her?”
“That pink diamond you wanted before? Or designer bags and jewelry? Even shares from Garcia Corporation? You can ask for anything you want.”
Watching Noah desperately protect Millie almost made me laugh until I cried.
So this was how Noah treated the woman he truly cared about.
He was even willing to give away Garcia Corporation’s shares.
After a while, I looked at them calmly and spoke without emotion.
“Noah, if you really want to protect Millie, then fine. Just sign this.”
After speaking, I opened the divorce papers I prepared earlier to the signature page and placed them in front of Noah.
Looking at the document before him, Noah frowned deeply. He didn’t sign right away and instead tried flipping to the first page to read it.
The sound of the pages turning felt especially harsh.
Noah’s brows pulled together even tighter.
