Right when Noah was about to read the words divorce agreement, Millie tugged lightly on his sleeve.
“President Garcia, I think someone from the company contacted you earlier. I forgot to tell you.”
Hearing her words, Noah didn’t even check the papers and signed immediately.
His eyes looked at Millie with concern.
“Is your body feeling bad? You don’t have to use excuses in front of me.”
Millie silently gave a small nod.
Noah quickly lifted her into his arms. Without looking at me once, he turned and walked away.
“Brielle, I already signed the paper you wanted. After this, you’re not allowed to target Millie over this matter anymore!”
Noah’s tone sounded very cold.
I looked at the divorce agreement in my hand and smiled as tears quietly rolled down my face.
Five years of marriage ended there.
After wiping my tears dry, I expressionlessly sent a text.
[Dad, he already signed the divorce agreement. Please hurry and handle everything. I want to leave him quickly!]
Dad soon replied.
[After one week, I’ll send someone to bring you home.]
I turned around, headed upstairs, and packed my luggage.
Without thinking twice, I threw all the presents and keepsakes Noah gave me into the garbage.
Those items used to stand for Noah’s love for me.
Now that Noah meant nothing to me anymore, those things meant nothing to me either.
The next morning, I suddenly smelled a harsh burning scent.
As I frowned and walked out of the room, I discovered sparks coming from the nursery I prepared for the baby in my stomach!
I anxiously ran inside and saw Millie in office clothes, burning the little outfits I made for my baby by hand!
Several damaged longevity locks were also tossed into the flames.
After my baby died, those were the only memories I had left.
But Millie still refused to leave, even though alone!
My anger instantly erased all my calmness.
I didn’t even have time to wonder why Millie was doing it. I rushed toward her and tried to snatch the baby clothes from her hands.
But in the end, I was too late.
As soon as the little clothes touched the flames, they quickly caught fire.
I weakly fell to the floor, and only then did I clearly see what the once cozy nursery had become.
Everything inside had been ruined. The crib and toys I prepared were smashed apart.
The walls were badly burned by the fire, and large stains of blood covered them.
The whole place looked like a murder scene.
Right in the middle were the words short-lived ghost written in blood.
My anger made my breathing turn heavy. My eyes turned red as I stared at Millie.
“Millie! You actually dared destroy this room!”
I shouted loudly, wishing I could kill her right there.
Millie looked at me with cold disrespect and calmly spoke.
“I only did this for President Garcia’s sake. Yesterday, a master passed by and said there’s an angry spirit from a short-lived ghost who died unfairly in this villa. It could harm President Garcia.”
“He told me to destroy the short-lived ghost’s room and burn the remaining items too, so I had no choice but to do it.”
After speaking, she suddenly laughed once.
“Of course, everything I did had President Garcia’s permission. If you’re not happy about it, you can go ask him yourself. Right now, I still need to finish my work, so please don’t make trouble for me.”
While speaking, she pushed me aside and still planned to continue ruining the room.
The anger inside me completely exploded.
I stopped caring about everything and fiercely slapped Millie across the face.
“Get out! Leave right now! I’ll never let you touch my child’s room again!”
I screamed, letting out all the hatred.
Just as I was about to shove Millie out the next second, a pair of large hands suddenly grabbed me tightly.
