I, the top live streamer of the company, had an audience of ten million fans.

I could sell 17 million dollars a day.

One day, when I was preparing for the live stream, I was suddenly called to the office by HR James Sullivan.

He said that the manager requested random layoffs and I was chosen.

My eyes widened in disbelief as I found myself on the layoff list.

I sought confirmation from senior management, questioning their awareness of the decision.

"Mr. Wallace has already signed it."

Silas Wallace was the new manager.

"What about compensation?"

I tried to stay calm and discuss the compensation first.

James presented a timesheet indicating my frequent absences.

I scoffed at it.

The company's working hours were from 8 am to 6 pm, but our livestream started at 8 pm.

So, was my livestream not considered work at all?

"According to the time sheet, you've been absent from work for three consecutive days. The company has the right to withhold compensation."

"Isn't live streaming considered work? There are millions of viewers watching me work every day."

James rubbed his forehead and took out a document signed by Silas.

"Last month, Mr. Wallace issued a document stating that failure to sign in or out will be considered as absenteeism."

I had been catching up on sleep and absentmindedly responded to the group message before going back to sleep.

Little did I know it was such a disgusting document.

"I don't think the labor law stipulates this."

James frowned, feeling quite embarrassed.

"Let me be frank, causing a scene might not be in your best interest."

"Our company is quite influential. If Mr. Wallace speaks ill of you, I'm afraid it will be difficult for you to find another job."

I I chuckled coldly.

The company had grown from a little branch to a giant in the industry with a daily turnover of tens of millions. Even the headquarters held it in high regard.

"Did Silas inform you of this?"

James nodded and continued, "He also said that you must hand over your work and leave by Friday, or else social security deductions will commence next Monday."

I was so angry and amused by Silas's actions.
