"It's just an ordinary calcium tablet." I said, tried my best to stay calm and scroll away from the video I had watched.
Joe was relieved when he heard me say this and then walked towards the door. "I forgot a document which I was supposed to present at the meeting "
"Oh." I said quietly following him.
I watched Joe's back as he went to his study room leaving his phone on the table. Full of curiosity, I picked it to find that it was loved as usual. I usually didn't go through his phone but at least I knew his password which was our wedding day.
However when I inputted the data is was incorrect. I tried and entered Lindsay's birthday and soon Joe's phone popped up a wallpaper of him and Lindsay hugging and kissing.
His phone was indeed dual-system. I quickly opened Joe's chat software and the top one was Lindsay's avatar and the second one was a group chat between him and his friends.
I opened the group chat and the message I saw made my heart tremble and the phone almost fell to the ground. It was filled with the nude photos that Joe and Lindsay took last night of me. Although, it was set to view once, I could tell from their conversation as they wouldn't stop mentioning it.
"Joe, you are unstoppable! Lily still looks charming!" Zack said.
"You know what, this pregnant woman looks really special, but I don't know how she tastes." Kendel said in a voice note.
"Don't say it, Lily looks like a bitch, she would be the top star in the club." The obscene words of Zack and others made my mind go blank, as if I was a naked beast, being pointed at and humiliated through the screen. I didn't want to read anymore. I returned his phone to where I got it from and drew back sniffing.
"Baby, why do you look so down?" Joe came downstairs holding a brown envelope containing a frame.
"Nothing, just the usual mood swings." I had to lie.
I had already sat back on the sofa. Joe took a blanket to cover me. "The weather is still a little cold, you are still pregnant, you must pay more attention to yourself, okay?" he said lightly. He continued, "It's Lindsay's birthday tonight, I plan to prepare a birthday party for her at home and specially invite a few friends to come home in the evening, you should dress nicely."
When I heard Lindsay's name, I trembled slightly and my expression turned cold. "I want to rest well at home today and don't want to be disturbed," I said with a low voice. Joe's face immediately sank and said,
"Lindsay's birthday only comes once a year. I just feel like doing this for her. Do you really want to use your pregnancy to pressure me? I have been accommodating to you during your pregnancy, but I cannot agree to this. She is looking forward to it."
Even though I haven't said anything yet, Joe couldn't wait to defend the love of his life. I should have known about it long ago.
"Okay." I said quietly.
Love and hate were really obvious. In the end, Joe still invited his friends to come to his house to celebrate Lindsay's birthday.
I stayed up for a long time hearing the music from downstairs. When I decided to go down, I put on the dress Joe had gotten me.
I placed a hand on my tommy, eager to sense any sense of life in me. But since I took that drug earlier, I have been feeling nothing but its usual movement. But it was getting faster and then slower. I wish I didn't have to do this but I have to. I sighed.
As soon as I got downstairs, I felt that everyone's eyes were on me. In a way that I felt teasing. All of them here had seen those pictures that were sent and they were probably imagining me naked right now.
"Lily, we are wearing the same skirt! We are really in sync!" Lindsay came over and took my hand intimately. Only then did I notice that the red skirt on my waist was exactly the same as hers. Was this some sort of game for Joe and others to see who fit more between the two of us? To show our shape differences. They must all be making fun of me now.
"This skirt looks better on you, Lindsay. Lily is fat and out of shape with a big belly now. How can she have half of your charm," said Joe as he came down.
Instantly, I knew he was drunk because he would not have said that in front of me in his clear minded state.
"Joe, you can't say that. In my opinion, your wife looks even more special when she's pregnant!" Zack says and suddenly, I feel his hand around my wrist and he places my palm on his, squeezing.
I tried hard to shake off Zack's hand, but found that he held it tighter and raised his eyebrows at me frivolously. "Is it just me or do I keep finding Lily more and more attractive?"
I casted a stern look at Joe. He had been making these freaky comments about me and my body and now he was saying it to my face. I tried to move away but his grip is suddenly getting tighter
I turned to Joe for help but he looked in my direction nonchalantly.
"My brother finds you attractive. You should be grateful." I gritted my teeth in agony as he said that.
"Joe, I am your wife." I cried and he then slowly stood up from the sofa and moved towards me. Zack is getting even closer to me and I begin to draw back slowly.
