The sun hung low on the horizon, casting long shadows across our territory as I watched Ace emerge from the treeline. My heart should have leaped at the sight of my mate returning after three days away, but something cold twisted in my stomach instead. He wasn't alone. Beside him walked a she-wolf I'd never seen before—tall, elegant, with golden hair that caught the dying light like spun silk. Her clothes were expensive, the kind worn by pack royalty, not rogues like us. The way she carried herself spoke of privilege, of a life untouched by the hardships that had shaped our pack. Our pack members gathered in the clearing, their voices dying to whispers as they took in the stranger. I placed a protective hand over my still-flat belly, where our pup grew beneath my heart, and stepped forward. "Pack," Ace's voice carried across the clearing with Alpha authority, but I caught the tension underneath. "I present Dahlia Tucker, daughter of Beta Tucker from the Lycan King's Council." Dahlia inclined her head gracefully, her amber eyes scanning our rough camp with barely concealed disdain.

Chapter 1 of Rejected by the Alpha, Claimed by the King

"I present Dahlia Tucker, daughter of Beta Tucker from the Lycan King's Council."

Dahlia inclined her head gracefully, her amber eyes scanning our rough camp with barely concealed disdain. When her gaze met mine, I saw something calculating there, something that made my wolf bristle.

"She will be staying with us permanently," Ace continued, his words falling like stones into still water. "As part of a crucial deal for our pack's survival."

My blood turned to ice. Permanently? I searched Ace's face for some explanation, some reassurance, but he wouldn't meet my eyes. The pack murmured uneasily, sensing the undercurrents they couldn't quite understand.

"Welcome," I managed, my Luna voice steady despite the chaos in my chest. But Dahlia's smile in return was sharp as a blade.

That night, alone in our den, the truth came crashing down like an avalanche.

"The Lycan Council gave me an ultimatum," Ace said, his back to me as he stared out into the darkness. "Take Dahlia as my chosen mate to legitimize our pack and gain official territory rights, or face complete destruction by Lycan enforcers."

The words hit me like physical blows. "Chosen mate?" My voice came out as barely a whisper.

He finally turned, and I saw the torment in his dark eyes. "You'll remain my fated mate, Everly. In secret. But Dahlia must become the public Luna. It's the only way to protect our pack, to protect our pup."

"Protect our pup?" I stood slowly, my hand instinctively covering my belly. "By betraying everything we are? By making me hide like some shameful secret?"

"You don't understand—"

"I understand perfectly." The words came out harder than I intended. "You're choosing political convenience over our mate bond. Over me."

Ace stepped toward me, his hand reaching out, but I backed away. "Everly, please. I'm trying to save us all."

"By destroying us first." I turned away, unable to look at him anymore. "Get out."

"Everly—"

"GET OUT!" The command tore from my throat with Luna authority, and even my own mate couldn't resist it. The door closed behind him with a soft click that sounded like the breaking of my heart.

I didn't sleep. I couldn't. By dawn, my decision was made.

The morning assembly was a sacred tradition, where the pack gathered to share concerns and receive guidance. I'd participated in dozens, but never like this. Never as a Luna about to challenge her Alpha in front of everyone.

Ace stood at the center of the circle, Dahlia beside him like she already belonged there. The sight made my wolf snarl. Our pack members sat in their usual spots, but I could feel their confusion, their unease about yesterday's announcement.

I rose from my place, and conversations died. Every eye turned to me as I walked into the center, my bare feet silent on the packed earth.

"I have something to say," I announced, my voice carrying clearly in the morning air.

Ace's eyes widened in warning. "Everly, this isn't the time—"

"This is exactly the time." I turned to face our pack, these wolves who had followed us through five years of hardship, who had trusted us to lead them to something better. "Yesterday, our Alpha announced that Dahlia Tucker would be staying permanently. What he didn't tell you is that he intends to take her as his chosen mate."

Gasps echoed around the circle. Marcus, Ace's Beta, shot to his feet. "What?"

I felt the power of my Luna voice building in my chest, fed by months of growing life and years of earned authority. "I am Ace Rivera's fated mate. I carry his pup. I have stood beside him through every trial, every loss, every victory. And I will NOT share my mate with anyone."

The words rang out like a challenge, like a declaration of war. Dahlia's face went pale, then flushed with anger. Ace stepped toward me, his Alpha aura pressing against mine.

"Everly, stand down," he commanded, his voice carrying the weight of his authority.

But I was Luna. I was his equal. And I was done being silent.

"No." The single word cut through his command like a silver blade. "I reject this arrangement. I reject the idea that I should step aside for political convenience. I am Luna of this pack, and I will not be relegated to the shadows."

The silence that followed was deafening. Pack members stared in shock as their Alpha and Luna faced off for the first time, the very foundation of their world cracking beneath their feet.

Ace's jaw clenched, his hands fisting at his sides. Dahlia stood frozen, her calculated composure finally shattered.

And in that moment, I knew there was no going back.

He Married Me Just for Money
He Married Me Just for Money
“Don’t stop,” she whispered. “She won’t come up.” I did. I stopped breathing. Thinking. Existing. The voice came from inside my bedroom—our bedroom. My sanctuary. I stood frozen in the hallway, dinner still warm downstairs, candles flickering in a room that no longer mattered. The scent of truffle butter still clung to my sleeves. Through the door—left carelessly ajar—I saw enough. A woman with auburn hair and wine-colored nails was curled into my husband's side, her lipstick smeared across his throat like a bruise. Her fingers skimmed down his back, possessive, practiced. Oliver moaned softly. A sound I hadn’t heard in months. I didn’t scream. I didn’t cry. I turned. Through the adjoining bathroom, I slipped into the walk-in closet, hiding behind the luxury he insisted I needed. Dresses lined in neat rows. Shoes in pyramids. A fortress of silk and leather and betrayal. I sat down, gripping the hem of my dress, listening. “I don’t know why you’re still stalling,” Lily said, her voice languid and confident. “She’s not stupid, Oliver. She’s suspicious. You said she keeps asking questions.” He sighed. “Let her ask. She won’t do anything. Not until it’s too late.” A beat. “She’s planning something tonight,” he added, almost amused. “Made some kind of fancy dinner. Probably filet again. It’s sweet, in a tragic way.” Lily giggled. “You think she’s figured out we’ve been using her?” “Scarlett sees what she wants to see. She’s desperate. That’s what makes it easy.” There was movement on the bed. Sheets shifting. “She still has no idea about the inheritance?” Lily murmured. “None,” he said. “Her father’s trust releases next month. Once the money hits the accounts, I’ll serve the papers. I’ve already started moving things offshore.” My throat closed. I bit the inside of my cheek so hard I tasted blood. So this was what I got from our five-year marriage.

Luna Walking Away: Defying the Alpha’s Cruelty
"A toast," Eden declared as servants began distributing crystal glasses filled with deep red wine. "To new beginnings." My stomach clenched as a server approached me with a tray. I started to shake my head—everyone in the pack knew of my severe allergy to alcohol. It had been documented since I became Luna; Eden himself had always ensured non-alcoholic alternatives were available at every gathering. But before I could decline, Eden was suddenly before me, taking a glass from the tray himself. His eyes, once warm amber pools I could drown in, were now cold and distant as he extended the wine toward me. "Surely our former Luna will join us in celebrating this momentous occasion," he said, loud enough for nearby pack members to hear. His emphasis on "former" cut through me like a blade. "Eden," I whispered, my voice barely audible even to werewolf ears. "You know I can't—" "Drink," he commanded, his Alpha tone washing over me like a physical force. "Honor our new Luna. Your new Luna."
