No Distrust Between Us, No Future

"And look! A lot of excellent men here, if someone falls in love with you, you won't have to worry about living expenses in your life."

Harry looked at me sarcastically. "Her? I'd rather have a pig than her."

A burst of laughter rang out around me at these words.

I was a bit displeased and my tone intensified a bit.

"I'm already married."

Harry was stunned. "Already married?"

But then suddenly burst out laughing.

"You can even make up such a lie to attract my attention."

"When you complained about me using a can pull ring as a ring, you didn't expect today to come, did you?"

"Now, even if you kneel down in front of me and beg me, just dream on you go back to me."

I was speechless.

After so many years, he still held on to this matter.

He and Samantha were childhood sweethearts. Every gift he gave me and Samantha were the same.

Sometimes even better than mine.

Every time I questioned him, he would say, "We have been friends for many years, what's wrong with giving a gift?"

Until he took out a can pull ring in public at the engagement party.

"I've been a bit busy lately and haven't had time to buy a ring, so I'll use this for now."

Samantha, who was standing aside, was loudly showing off the ten-carat diamond ring he gave her to the people around her.

Angry and disappointed, I broke off the engagement on the spot.

But he accused me of not being sensible.

More ridiculous, I still foolishly waited for him to coax me.

As long as he lowered his head, I recognized the ring as an engagement ring.

Later, a video Samantha sent, completely made me give up.

I stared into his eyes and said word by word.

"I never thought of coming back to you, not now, not in the future and please don't bother me anymore."

His face darkened.

"Haven't you had enough of playing hard to get?"

Just before I could give him a response, Samantha shook his arm.

"Alright, Harry, the party is about to begin. Don't offend Mr. Guerreiro because of her."

She whispered in his ear.

"We're here today to propose a cooperation with Mr. Guerreiro, don't miss out on important things."

Harry made a move to pull me. "I'll take you to change your clothes first."

I had so many couture dresses to wear, so why did I need them to give me one?

I wasn't in the mood to play the rescue game with them.

I dodged his hand and put the last piece of the puzzle back in place.

"No need."

I stood up, about to leave, when Harry suddenly reached out and knocked the puzzle out of my hand.

His face darkened and he muttered to me.

His face darkened and he shouted in a low voice:

"Enough, Lorelei, this is not the place for you to mess around."

Looking at the puzzle I had worked so hard to put together turned into ruin again, a surge of anger surged in my heart.

I pushed him hard and scolded.

"Harry, you sick? You know what this is?"

Perhaps, he didn't expect me to be so angry. He froze for a moment and unconsciously tried to grab my hand.

Samantha threw a resentful gaze to me and said in annoyance.

"Lorelei, today is the birthday party of Mr. Guerreiro's son, do you want to ruin the party?"

Someone in the crowd chimed in.

"Mr. Guerreiro loves his son as much as his life. If the birthday party is ruin because of you, it might implicate a group of people."

"Look how kind-hearted Mr. and Ms. Hartman are! This crazy woman is so ungrateful and unsensible!"

"Waiter, quickly drive her away and clean up the garbage on the floor!"

The waiter grabbed my hand and dragged me out.

"Get out of here now! You will only cause a big problem for our hotel."

I struggled hard. "Let me go and give me my puzzles back!"
