"Leave! Don't dirty the ballroom!" He warned.
Too lazy to explain, I broke free from his hand and lowered my head to speed up my movements.
"If it gets dirty, I'll arrange for someone to clean it up. You'd better not touch me or you'll be responsible for the consequences."
The waiter seemed to have heard a huge joke.
"Responsible for the consequences? You sick?"
"Do you know what this place is? This carpet, this crystal glass, if dirty it a little, you won't be able to pay for it even if you sell it."
"Stop talking nonsense here and get out of here!"
He reached out and pulled me.
"Enough!"
Harry approached expressionlessly and stared at me coldly, asking, "How much can you sell these for? I'll give them to you. Don't try to show off in front of me!"
How did I try to show off in front of him?
I frowned at him.
"No, you misunderstood."
Sneered and condescended, as he looked at me.
"Stop acting! You used to act pitiful, but now you can't fool me."
He took Samantha's hand and held it in front of me.
"The one and only girl I love is Samantha, so stop appearing and catching my attention, it's useless!"
Samantha embraced his arm and intimately leaned against him.
"You regret it, right, Lorelei? But too bad, you heard it yourself, I'm the one and only girl in his heart and we'll get married soon. I hope you won't come and disturb us anymore."
I fixed my gaze on them and said with a sincere and firm tone.
"I wish you both a long and happy life together."
I, then, lowered my head and pieced the puzzle together.
"Lorelei! What do you want? Money? Okay, I'll transfer it to you." His tone implied anger. He lowered his head and operated his phone quickly.
"Is fourteen thousand dollars enough? Twenty-eight thousand dollars?"
I gave him a cold glance.
"No need."
Harry stopped his fingers and sneered.
"Too little?"
Soon, he took out a check from his pocket and handed it to me.
"Fill in as much as you want and don't show up in front of me again!"
"I love Samantha from the start to the end. I was just too foolish to get engaged to you and not to realize my own feelings. I was grateful, your departure awakened me."
"We're living a happy life now and I hope you can find a suitable person to start over."
I never realized he was so narcissistic before.
I had thrown away the feelings, the relationship, long ago from my life.
I glanced at the check in his hand, didn't take it.
"I don't lack money."
Harry stared at me with a smug.
"Still showing off to have a lot of money? But look how poor and pathetic you are, picking up scraps on the floor."
I sighed helplessly, too lazy to explain to him.
"We broke up a long time ago, how I relate to you, right?"
"Also, I really don't lack money, so stop giving me money and being interested in my life."
He couldn't even compare to my husband, yet he still supported me. How ridiculous!
Harry raised his eyebrows at me, his gaze full of sarcasm.
"Wait, don't get me wrong, transferring the money to you is nothing more than pitying you. I've lost interest in you for a long time."
He looked at my clothes covered in paint and slowly clenched his fingers into fists.
"Anyway, you shouldn't give up on yourself for me and make yourself look pathetic. I hope you can take the money and start over," said Samantha, taking his arm and acting understanding.
"Harry, she was the one who broke off the engagement, no one forced her. She has become what she is today entirely because of her own fault, not yours."
She turned to look at me and added. "Lorelei, if you don't mind, I can arrange a suitable dress and jewelry for you and you can stay today."
"I heard, Mr. and Ms. Guerreiro are very kind, so they shouldn't mind."
