Chapter 1 of My Daughter Whispered 'Win, Mommy' , So I Destroyed Him
My six-year-old daughter ran away from home for a day and a night. I used all my connections and finally found her and brought her home.
When she got back, she knelt down in front of me, crying and saying she ran away because she didn't want to go to school, begging me not to send her to kindergarten.
Despite my persistent questioning, she remained silent.
I tried to help her up but found her small body covered in bruises; not a single patch of her skin was unharmed.
Trembling, I posted photos in the parents' group chat, questioning the kindergarten.
"What did your kindergarten do to the children?"
Before the homeroom teacher could reply, a woman named Owen Perez's mother stepped forward.
"It's not the kindergarten's fault; I told my son to do it!"
Following this, two pictures were sent.
One was a paternity test report between her son and my husband.
The other was a picture of my husband and me being intimate in a hotel room.
"You shameless woman who cheats on your husband! I'm being kind by not having my son beat that illegitimate daughter to death!"
These words sparked a huge uproar; the parents' group chat was filled with insults directed at my daughter and me.
The homeroom teacher, who had been silent until now, stepped forward, saying that I wasn't fit to be a parent for questioning my daughter in the parents' group without first asking what she had done wrong.
Owen Perez's mother even sent me an address.
"I'm in a good mood today teaching that bastard a lesson, everyone come to my villa for a party, all expenses paid!"
She specifically mentioned me.
"Carly Black's mom, you're not satisfied? Dare to come and confront me?"
I immediately grabbed my daughter and rushed over, calling my private lawyer on the way.
"Attorney Fox, bring the divorce papers. I want Walter's kicked out of the Cui family."
"Also, please tell my dad that I've agreed to what he said before. I'll be back in a week."
A week is enough time for me to play with those two scumbag boyfriends.
……
I drove with my daughter, following the address until we pulled into a gated villa community.
The moment we reached the entrance, a security guard bowed to me with practiced respect.
Only then did I remember: this was another property the Black Group had invested in.
Owen Perez and his mother living here was definitely Walter's doing.
Back then, I'd thought Walter was honest and hardworking, so I'd handed him a few smaller holdings to manage. I never imagined he'd use them to set up a mistress and an illegitimate son.
"Ms. Black! Are you here to inspect the property? Let me notify the manager right away—"
I raised my hand gently to stop him. "That won't be necessary. This is a personal visit."
With that, I took my daughter's hand and walked straight toward the noisiest part of the community.
I didn't need to search for the right villa. The only one blasting music loud enough to set my teeth on edge told me everything I needed to know.
The closer we got, the louder the commotion grew.
I'd barely reached the front door when the scene before me stopped me in my tracks.
Seeing it in person was something else entirely.
A cluster of parents swarmed around a woman dripping in designer clothes, fawning over her like courtiers around a queen.
Vanity and self-satisfaction radiated from every pore of her face. I didn't need to ask. This was Owen Perez's mother.
"Owen's mommy, why on earth did you invite Carly Black's mother?"
"Exactly! Every parent at this school is somebody. Our kids are the best of the best. Just thinking about that little bastard going to the same school as my child makes me sick to my stomach!"
The woman at the center of it all spoke up, her contempt completely undisguised:
"Oh, I invited her sincerely. But if she actually has the nerve to show up, I'd love to get a good look at the kind of trash that seduced my husband and had the audacity to bear his child!"
By the last word, Maria Henson's eyes were brimming with raw hatred.
Something in me stirred, an involuntary flicker of pity for her. But beneath that pity lay something far stronger: the sheer absurdity of it all.
Walter Perez, a man who'd married into my family with nothing to his name, had her wrapped around his finger without her even knowing it. She sat there like a hen puffing up its feathers in a dying frenzy, pitiful and small, yet impossibly shrill.
I was about to step inside when I heard my daughter's homeroom teacher, her voice oozing with that sickeningly eager, groveling sweetness:
"Everyone, rest assured. As long as I'm at that school, the mistress's brat will never set foot inside those gates again! I've already submitted the expulsion paperwork to the principal. Carly can forget about ever coming back!"
The words had barely left her mouth before the crowd erupted in cheers and agreement.
"School is a place for proper education! We can't let someone like her ruin it! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and I won't have my child corrupted!"
Maria's face spread into a satisfied, self-assured smile as she basked in every last syllable of flattery.
I stood there, and the scene before me felt like something from a fever dream.
She truly believed her husband was some powerful, untouchable figure, worth parading around like a trophy for all to see.
What she didn't know was that without me, that brilliant husband of hers would still be groveling at someone else's feet, begging for scraps.
I was the one who'd lifted him to the top. And I could just as easily crush him back down to nothing.
I reached out and pushed the villa door wide open.
Someone spotted me. The roaring, festive atmosphere died in an instant, snuffed out like a candle.
Every pair of eyes in the room locked onto me, loaded with disgust and contempt, the kind of look people reserved for garbage.
The loudest voices from moments ago were the first to screech:
"Well, well. The mistress actually dared to show her face!"
"Do you have no shame? You know what you did, and you still have the gall to bring your little bastard to our doorstep?"
I was about to respond when I felt the small hand in mine tremble. Carly shrank behind me, pressing herself against my back.
I reached down immediately and covered her ears with my hands, then lifted my gaze to the crowd.
"Every single word you've said today, you'd better have chosen carefully. Because when the day comes that you're begging me for forgiveness, it'll be too late for regret."
