My Alpha Humiliated Me While I Carried His Heir Summary

At 5:47 a.m., the mate bond died—three days before I meant to tell Jacob I carried his child. It started cold: the bite mark on my neck where his teeth once claimed me turned frostbitten, then numb, the chill crawling through my collarbone to settle near my heart. I was reviewing border patrol reports when Garrett knocked. A steady senior wolf, yet his face was pale. "Luna," he said quietly, "I need to report something." I let him in and shut the door. In one brutal morning, a rejected Luna must face a shattered bond, a dangerous secret, and the Alpha who humiliated her—while his heir grows beneath her heart.

Chapter 1 of My Alpha Humiliated Me While I Carried His Heir

The bond broke at 5:47 a.m., three days before I was supposed to announce my pregnancy.

I felt it first as cold—not the air in the room, but the mark on my neck where Jacob's teeth had once sealed our mate bond. The bite scar turned ice-cold, then numb, like frostbite spreading under my skin. My hand went to my throat. The chill radiated down through my collarbone, into my chest, settling somewhere near my heart.

I was at my desk reviewing border patrol reports when Garrett knocked. He was one of the senior patrol wolves, steady and reliable. But when I opened the door, his face was pale.

"Luna," he said quietly. "I need to report something."

I let him in and closed the door. He stood there for a moment, like he didn't know how to start.

"Just say it," I told him.

He swallowed. "Last night, around midnight, I was running the eastern perimeter. I saw the Alpha near the bonding chamber."

My stomach dropped. The bonding chamber was sealed. It had been sealed since the day Jacob and I completed our mating ceremony. Only the Alpha and Luna were allowed inside.

"He wasn't alone," Garrett continued. His voice dropped even lower. "Fiona was with him. He unlocked the door and brought her inside."

I didn't move. I couldn't.

"I stayed close," Garrett said. "The door didn't shut all the way. I saw her through the gap." He paused, his jaw tight. "She was wearing your cloak, Luna. The ceremonial one. She was standing at the altar."

The world tilted. For a second, I couldn't breathe.

Your cloak. Your altar.

The place where Jacob had bitten my neck and called me his. The place where we had knelt together under the Moon Goddess's light and sworn to protect each other, to lead this pack as one.

He brought her there.

Garrett was still talking, but I couldn't hear him anymore. There was a roaring in my ears, and something else—something moving inside me, pressing against my ribs. My wolf. She was there, suddenly, furiously awake in a way I had never felt before. I had spent my whole life believing I was wolfless. But now she was clawing at the inside of my chest, snarling, demanding I do something.

I forced myself to focus. "Thank you, Garrett," I said. My voice sounded calm. I didn't know how. "You can go."

He hesitated. "Luna, if you need—"

"Go."

He left.

I sat back down at my desk. My hands were shaking. I pressed them flat against the wood and stared at the patrol report in front of me. The words blurred together.

Then I reached for the second document on my desk. The one the pack healer had delivered last night, sealed in a plain envelope.

I opened it again, even though I had already read it three times.

*Pregnancy confirmed. Estimated six weeks.*

I folded it carefully and slipped it into my pocket.

Then I stood up and walked to the Alpha's study.

---

Jacob was at his desk when I opened the door. Fiona was there too, perched on the edge of the leather couch, wearing a soft pink dress that made her look delicate and untouchable. She looked up when I entered, and her eyes went wide, like I had startled her.

Jacob didn't even glance at me. "I'm busy," he said.

"The bonding chamber was sealed for a reason," I said.

His head snapped up. His eyes narrowed.

Before I could say another word, the Alpha tone hit me.

It slammed into my chest like a physical blow, cutting off my breath, my voice, everything. My knees buckled. I grabbed the edge of the doorframe to stay upright.

"Enough," Jacob said. His voice was cold and commanding, laced with the full weight of his authority. "I don't want to hear it."

I couldn't speak. The Alpha tone held me frozen, my throat locked.

Behind him, Fiona started crying. Soft, trembling sobs. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I didn't mean to cause trouble. I just—Jacob said it was okay. I didn't know—"

"She didn't know," Jacob repeated, his tone sharp. He stood and crossed the room toward me. "But you did, didn't you, Adele? You knew exactly what you were doing when you turned our bond into a business transaction. When you spent more time with alliance documents than with your own mate."

My wolf snarled inside me, pressing harder against my ribs. I could feel her rage, her demand to fight back. But my voice was still trapped.

"You're cold," Jacob said. He was standing right in front of me now, his expression hard. "Power-hungry. You care more about territorial ledgers than you ever cared about me."

I stared at him. At the man who had let another woman wear my cloak. At the altar where we had sworn our vows.

The hypocrisy was so clear it burned.

Jacob stepped back, releasing the Alpha tone. Air rushed back into my lungs.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out the healer's document. I held it up so he could see it.

He glanced at it, then looked away. He didn't ask what it was.

I folded it again, slipped it back into my pocket, and walked out.

---

An hour later, I sent the orders.

Fiona's guest access to pack grounds: revoked.

The six warriors Jacob had secretly assigned as her personal escort: reassigned to border patrol.

I contacted Jovie, my most trusted Delta, through the mind-link. *Meet me at the eastern safe house in three hours.*

Then I gathered everything that mattered. The alliance documents. The resource ledgers. Every trade agreement that represented Ironveil's entire diplomatic infrastructure. I packed them into a secure case and left the pack house before Jacob's counter-orders could reach anyone.

By the time his Beta arrived at my quarters with new instructions, I was already gone.

The safe house was small but fortified, tucked into the forest near the eastern border. Jovie was waiting when I arrived.

"What do you need?" he asked.

"Everything," I said.

That night, Jacob retaliated. He moved Fiona into the Alpha suite—my quarters—and issued a pack-wide order confining me to a lower-floor room if I returned. The order was read aloud in the pack house, in front of everyone.

Jovie told me through the mind-link.

I set down my tea and opened the alliance ledger.

"Good," I said quietly. "Then they'll notice when I stop maintaining them."

I picked up my pen and began drafting the message to the allied envoys. It was measured. Strategic. And it would land like a bomb.

*I, Adele Mercer, Luna of the Ironveil Pack, will be the sole guarantor of all diplomatic commitments going forward. Any agreement requiring Alpha co-signature is suspended pending further review.*

I sealed it and handed it to Jovie.

"Send this to every allied pack scheduled for the banquet," I said.

He took it without question.

I leaned back in my chair and touched the mark on my neck. It was still cold. Still numb.

But my wolf was awake now.

And she was done waiting.
