Love Ends in Winter

Gloria could not help but bend down, tears suddenly rolled down her eyes and finally, under the surprised gazes of passers-by, she fled back home in embarrassment.

But home was not a harbor, all that awaited her was violent storms.

As soon as she entered the door, my father slapped me hard.

Gloria felt a burning pain on her face and her head was buzzing. She saw her father's livid face and the deep disappointment in her mother's eyes.

“Sylvia cut her wrists because of you, are you satisfied now?!”

“You know Sylvia also likes Manuel, but you insist on marrying him. What do you want Sylvia to do in the future?”

“I'm so disappointed in you!”

“Gloria, you are too selfish. You were not like this before.”

As Gloria listened, she started to laugh, but her eyes were filled with tears.

She looked at her parents who had loved her for many years but then seemed like her enemies and wanted to ask, how did you become like that?

Were you still my parents?

It was Slyvia who stole her fiancé, so why should they blame her?

But she knew that once she asked, all she would get in return would be shocked and puzzled looks from her parents and deeper disappointment.

Gloria did not ask any more questions. She calmed down despite the extreme pain.

“What do you want me to do?” she asked instead.

“Give Manuel to Sylvia. It was Slyvia who accompanied us during the three years you were in a coma. She has done a great favor to our Huerta Family. You can't be so ungrateful!”

Just as her father finished speaking, Manuel and Slyvia walked in. Gloria looked at the two holding hands and her eyes turned cold.

Without her parents telling her, she no longer wanted Manuel.

As Slyvia came back, her parents stopped scolding her and immediately went to greet Sylvia, surrounding her and asking about her well-being.

“Are you okay, Sylvia? Silly child, why are you so desperate to do such a stupid thing? If anything happens to you, how will your parents live?”

The scene was dazzling. Gloria did not want to watch it, so she covered her painful face and turned to go outside, but Manuel held her hand.

“Gloria, what happened today…."

“I know what you're going to say.” Gloria turned around and interrupted him, “but I don't want to hear it.”

It was nothing more than a bland apology and a promise to prepare a more grand wedding for her next time.

However, Gloria did not see the grand wedding. Instead, she became the only bride in the city who was abandoned three times in a row.

“Manuel, people are all made of flesh and blood.”

She was not made of steel and that time the passionate love that filled her heart for Manuel had completely cooled down.

Manuel thought that Gloria would lose her temper and make a scene like before, but after hearing those sentences, he could not help but be stunned, trying to see the emotions in Gloria's eyes.

However, Gloria had already shaken off his hand and walked out.

“Gloria.” Manuel panicked and subconsciously wanted to chase after her.

Suddenly, a cry of surprise came from behind him, “Manuel, come quickly, Slyvia has fainted!”

The pursuer suddenly changed direction and ran towards Slyvia anxiously.

A hint of sarcasm flashed across Gloria's eyes.

She came to the garden alone.

A long time later, she received a message from Slyvia.

[Sister, look how pitiful you are. As long as I wave my hand, your parents and Manuel will come around me, but you are just a bunch of air at home that no one cares about.]

[But it's still a bit of an eyesore to have you at home. So, don't worry, sooner or later, I will make you get out of here like a dog!]

Then, Manuel fed Slyvia soup and her parents looked at the video of Slyvia with distressed eyes.
