I'm just a Substitute and My Love's just a Game

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the two of them hold hands with each other.

It was not until I got home that I realized that Celeste's so-called special environment for the disabled was just a storage room in the corner of the first floor for me to live in.

Looking at the dim and cramped environment in front of me, I felt a little amused and helpless.

"The doctor said a room with light and warmth would help me recover, so Celeste gave me your room."

"You don't mind, do you?"

Jansen put his arm around her waist, with a hint of provocation hidden in his smile.

Celeste remained silent, her eyes flickering.

"Don't mind. It's not my home. It's not my turn to make the decision."

The moment she heard these words, her face changed slightly, as if she was a little angry, then she turned around and walked away.

In the following days, the three of us lived together happily.

Every time Celeste came to see me, Jansen would call her away for various reasons.

It was either stomachache or eyesore, dizziness or palpitations.

It just so happened that these tricks were extremely effective on the girl.

Even the Louis Family's servant, Melinda Bailey, could not stand it anymore. She complained about Jansen every day in front of me, even adding a few personal remarks.

"Ms. Louis is just confused these days, but we will be fine as soon as she comes to her sense. Let's just endure for a while and keep things peaceful."

Melinda said what Viviane had conveyed to me, but I felt nothing in my heart.

Viviane had been on a business trip abroad and had not come back for the next few days. She was afraid that Jansen would seduce her daughter, so she could only put some effort into me.

Too bad, they did not know that I could not marry Celeste.

All I needed wass to take care of my legs here.

When I woke up the next day, I saw the whole family busy.

There were various decorations and scenery in the courtyard and after asking, I found out that Celeste was going to hold a birthday party for Jansen.

Jansen stood in the courtyard wearing a pure white haute couture suit, with a tall and straight figure and no signs of aging on his handsome face.

"Pieter, you're awake."

He walked over with a smile and gestured to push my wheelchair.

I glanced sideways and immediately saw the wedding shoes on his feet.

These were my wedding shoes. They were handmade by a craftsman when Celeste and I went to Italy together.

"Where did you get these shoes?"

I held his hand tightly and spoke with a hint of anger.

"Pieter, what are you doing? I ...."

He did not say a few more words, his eyes reddened, looking like a frightened white rabbit.

"Pieter!"

Celeste appeared out of nowhere and stood in front of me in a hurry.

The man broke free and hid behind her.

"He only asked me about the shoes. He didn't do anything. Celeste, don't be angry."

"This pair of shoes was in the closet in my room. I thought you bought them for me, so I put them on ...."

Celeste became angrier and angrier.

Jansen's delicate and artificial appearance became a thorn in my eyes.

"It's just a pair of shoes. Is it worth your effort?"

"Pieter, don't go too far!"

She looked down at me, as if she was looking at a vicious dog on the street, her eyes full of vigilance and anger.

"Celeste, can you please open your eyes and see clearly that those are my wedding shoes!"

She turned her head to look at him and realized that it was indeed my wedding shoes

"There are plenty of wedding shoes. If you want them, I'll buy them for you again."

"Jansen just likes it. What's wrong with wearing it once? He'll return it to you when he's worn it enough. Besides, your legs are broken now, why do you need wedding shoes!"

"You apologize to him and this matter will be over."

I looked up in disbelief. I could understand each her word, but when put together they were too confusing to comprehend.
