I looked at my swollen eyes in the mirror on my dressing table. I had stayed up all night listening to Audrey and William's conversation. They told me about their love journey.
Yesterday I also heard that Audrey was coming with my mom.
William hasn't even told me about it until now. I don't want to meet them. The treatment of my entire family only made me relive the past.
"Kimberly, you are very beautiful, but it would be more beautiful if you wore this necklace," William said, hugging me from behind. He also attached a red pendant necklace.
"Isn't this necklace a limited edition? I don't deserve it, William, you're just wasting money," I replied softly.
Actually, my words were just an excuse. I'm not willing to accept gifts from William, they only make my heart hurt. And if yesterday I didn't hear their conversation, maybe I still believe in William's every sweet treatment now.
"It's okay, you're my wife, Kimberly. I would give anything for you, even my life. Oh yes, your family is waiting downstairs. I'm sorry I was late in telling you they were coming."
William's words were just nonsense. Maybe he would give his life, but not to me but to Audrey.
"Sorry, William. I can't meet them. I have an appointment with my friends today."
I didn't want to see Audrey's intimacy with William. They would definitely make out openly in front of me.
"Cancel your promise, Kimberly! She's your family, forget about the past. Don't keep blaming them," William replied irritably. His gentle gaze now turned cold to me.
I was surprised to hear his tight voice, which made my heart beat fast. "But they and Audrey have ruined me!" I replied irritably and tried to hold back from revealing William's ugliness.
"You can't blame Audrey! She's a victim just like you, you're her sister, Kimberly. Try to think like an adult!"
I looked at William with teary eyes. This was the first time I heard him yell at me. And suddenly William stroked my hair, like he realized his mistake just now.
"Sorry, I just don't want you to be a disobedient child. They're waiting, you can't refuse."
There was no other choice, I couldn't refuse William. I finally decided to meet them. Walking together with William down the stairs one by one. He hugged my waist very tightly.
I could see my mother, who was sitting together with Audrey. I had to smile to welcome them.
I hugged them too, and when I wanted to hug Audrey. My hands were clenched tightly at her words.
"I've come to take your husband, Kimberly," Audrey said near my ear.
I suddenly let go of her hug, and she smiled kindly at me. Suddenly I was surprised to see William, who also hugged Audrey's body tightly.
"It's been a long time since we met. How are you, Audrey?" asked William as he kissed Audrey's cheek, making my eyes round perfectly. My eyes also heated up seeing their intimacy.
"I'm fine, William," replied Audrey, who secretly smiled mockingly at me.
"Oh yeah, you guys can catch up with each other later. I'm in a hurry. I'm actually here to ask you and William to look after Audrey. I'm going to go with your father to work abroad."
"I disagree, Mom. Audrey is an adult. She can protect herself," I refused. I clearly didn't want to open the door for Audrey. It would only make it easier for William and Audrey to have an affair.
"Please, Kimberly, Audrey is innocent and can't take care of herself. She is not like you. William, please give understanding to your wife, I say goodbye. William, I'll leave Audrey to you!" My mom said and left.
What innocent woman would seduce her sister's husband?
Audrey's face disgusted me, so I chose to leave them. I didn't care what they would do.
However, the moment I took a step. William's loud voice stopped me in my tracks.
"Kimberly, please make a drink for Audrey."
I was surprised to hear William giving orders. I'm not a servant in this house. But when I wanted to refuse, William's sharp gaze made me submit.
I finally relented and stepped into the kitchen to get a drink for Audrey.
I returned with a glass of water. I saw Audrey sitting alone on the sofa playing with her cell phone.
"Thank you, sister, you are very considerate. You haven't visited me and Mom in a long time. Is the pain so deep? So you left home and took care of that sickly whore?" replied Audrey with a satisfied smile.
"Watch what you say, Audrey, that whore is your mother," I replied irritably.
I still remembered the pain in my heart when my parents couldn't accept the fact that Audrey and I were switched daughters. I knew how much they loved Audrey so much that it was hard for them to let her go. And they didn't consider me as their biological daughter.
"I don't want to be her daughter. She's your mother, and she's dead anyway. And William is a fool to accept a whore as his wife," Audrey replied with a hearty laugh.
"I'm not a prostitute, I'm just a barmaid!" I retorted.
"Who knew you were serving them too?"
I angrily picked up the glass and splashed Audrey. She really didn't know any better, having taken away my rights as a child of the Morbision family. And now demeaning me.
"Damn it! Apparently you've started to dare to fight me. Look at this red mark on my neck!" she said as she pushed aside her long hair.
I was surprised to see a clear red mark on Audrey's neck.
"Every night William goes to take care of his important work. He works with me on the bed."
My hands were clenched tightly around the glass. Audrey makes me jealous, my heart beats irregularly, and so does my breathing.
My whole body relaxed, and the glass in my hand fell over. It wasn't long before I was surprised to hear William shouting.
