Chapter 1 of Drowning Wife, Swimming Champ Stands By
During the summer vacation, when we were traveling, my wife accidentally fell into the sea and drowned, but I calmly took a big sip of iced coffee.
Richard Frost was anxious and shouted at me, "Ryan Cooper, you are a swimming champion, why are you still standing there, go and save Serena."
"Dad, no, my leg is injured and I can't save her."
I pointed to my leg which was bruised and bleeding a little.
Diana Frost's eyes were red. "My daughter worked hard to give birth to a daughter for you. Now she is almost drowned. You just scratched a little skin. If you don't save her, what will happen to her?"
"Mom, I'm bleeding. If I get hurt in the water, I won't be able to participate in the competition in a few days. Maybe this is Serena's fate! I can't save her!"
Hearing this, Richard, who was always honest, blushed. He had never bent his knees to anyone in decades, but he actually knelt in front of me and said, "Dad, please, it's just a competition. Is your wife's life more important?"
"Serena is a good girl, you can't just watch her die!"
Even my seven-year-old daughter hugged my thighs and cried, "Daddy, I want Mommy!"
I smiled insincerely, "Mom was only submerged for five minutes, she's not dead yet."
……
"Ryan, how could you say such a thing?"
Diana turned pale, "Serena is dying!"
"Mom, my leg is injured and bleeding, which is a big taboo in the sea. I'm afraid it will attract sharks."
Diana said in tears, "How could a shark get in where she was? If there was a shark, she would have been bitten a long time ago."
I took a sip of iced coffee, feeling the sweet milky aroma blooming in my taste buds, and said lightly, "Maybe there really is a shark! I can't take the risk! After all, the competition will start in three days."
Richard had no choice but to ask for help from the tourists around him, "My daughter can't swim. Is there anyone who can swim? Can you please save my daughter?"
"Uncle, I'm sorry, we are landlubbers and can't help you."
"The water over there is a bit far away. I can't swim over there with my physical strength."
"Hey, I can barely swim there, but how can I save them by myself?"
Richard asked around and finally came to me and looked at me.
"Ryan, the injury on your leg is not a big deal. Why don't you go save Serena?"
"She is your wife!"
Diana also wiped away tears. "You came from the countryside, you were very poor. When you were in college, you had no living expenses and had to rely on her for financial support from time to time. We strongly opposed her dating you at that time, but Serena quarreled with us and was determined to be with you."
"When you got married, you had no house or car, but she didn't despise you, nor did she ask you for Dowry. She even brought a dowry of $500,000. After marriage, she took care of the family and managed the household in an orderly manner."
When I heard this, my eyes turned red and countless warm scenes of being with Serena Frost flashed through my mind.
Diana is right, my wife is really good to me.
I come from the countryside and when I was in college, I often worried about living expenses. Sometimes I could only secretly eat steamed buns in the dormitory for half a month. Later, after I was with her, she often financially supported me and relieved me from my embarrassment.
“You could have saved my daughter, but you just stood by and watched?
"Hurry up, Mom, please!"
The more she spoke, the more anxious she became. She even knelt down and kowtowed repeatedly, her forehead hitting the rocks on the beach and a lot of blood flowed out.
On the sea, my wife had only one white little hand left, scratching around in the water, as if trying to grab something, but all she grabbed was air. She was in danger!
