Chapter 1 of Cherish My Love, Alpha!
After waking up from the coma, I accidentally overheard my husband, Alpha Albert, talking to the doctor and the wizard.
"Hurry up and find that rare potion, make sure it really works to make Luna barren!"
I also caught a glimpse of Alpha Albert lovingly hugging a woman with a big belly beside him.
"You should also prepare the best obstetric care because I want this child to be the successor to the Jade Pack." he said while placing his hand on the woman's distended stomach.
I, of course, recognized who the woman was nestled in my husband's arms- She was Clara, the younger sister of Beta Caleb, and sometimes she helped her brother to be my husband's assistant.
And I heard Albert again warning the doctor and the witch seriously. "And you must not forget to make sure Luna recovers well, if the potion you make has any other effects that could hurt Luna, I will make sure you will not be able to leave this Castle alive."
My heart felt choked. It never crossed my mind for a second that the person who had promised to love me only until the end of his life was now plunging a dagger of betrayal right into my chest.
Everything that happened made me crazy; without hesitation, I rejected Alpha Albert so that the two of them could be together in the love bond they wanted.
However, after I left him completely, he searched frantically for me all over the world.
——
My footsteps are now taking me toward the deserted park, and my mind is starting to replay the scene where it seems like the whole world is pressing mercilessly on my chest.
The husband who once adored me and treated me like the oxygen he desperately needed and the one who whispered to me that I was everything to him was now plotting the most heinous betrayal- ordering a witch to take away my ability to have children.
He knew better than anyone how much I yearned to be a mother.
"Have you been able to open your eyes a little, Rose? Please see the whole truth," the She-wolf in me immediately mind-linked when I was already in a fairly hidden place.
"But Albert was never like this before, do you know how Albert treated us all these years? He takes such good care of us, it's like he can't even breathe without us by his side." I tried to deny my she-wolf.
"You were too blinded by your false love Rose, and the fact is that now the person you said loved us the most is the one who took away the right to be a mother to us! Have you forgotten how you dreamed of holding our children in your warm embrace?"
Zoe's cruel words made me understand that there was no point in me being stubborn right now. Everything had happened, and it was true that the husband I loved the most and the Alpha I respected the most had betrayed me. He not only killed my trust, but he also killed my ability to have children even though all this time, he knew best how sad I was every night waiting for the birth of a tiny baby in my stomach.
"Is that Luna? Ah I want to be like Luna, Alpha loves Luna so much and where can we find a man like Alpha who loves us so much? In fact, last night Alpha was seen crying when the doctor said that Luna was in a coma." I heard in the distance the voices of the omegas looking at me with envy.
Maybe if those omegas had praised me just before I found out everything, I would have felt like the luckiest woman in the world, but unfortunately, not now. I don't think I'm the luckiest woman at all. I think the opposite because my life is so miserable right now.
"Did you also know? That Alpha was also the one who ordered the doctor to have Luna treated at the castle because Alpha didn't want Luna to be uncomfortable in the hospital, and I heard that all of Alpha's assets are now in Luna's name because they have loved each other for a long time" added the other omega excitedly.
"Alpha also deliberately hired the best doctors, not only doctors, reportedly Alpha also worked with witches so that Luna could survive because Rogue's attack yesterday really made Luna block. I think Alpha Albert is an Alpha who deserves to be an inspiration for all men on how to love and protect their wives properly." Another Omega also commented, making me feel even more disgusted
"They're just saying nonsense! He moved you because he was afraid the other wolves would find out that he was taking the child in our womb!" Zoe, the she-wolf in me, was really raging against the words of the omegas who praised Albert.
"What are you saying, Zoe?" I asked in disbelief.
We've actually been pregnant since ten days ago, but you were so busy preparing a party for that cheap of a husband of yours that you didn't realize that there was a little life in our stomachs." I paused to let Zoe explain everything.
"Three days ago, when the rogues attacked, they aimed straight for our child. Our child was barely saved, but I was trying to protect him, so my strength became a bit weak because of that. But unfortunately, that man forced the doctors to suspend him, but I was still able to protect our child from them, but the evil witches came and helped the doctors take our child by force because they knew that I was trying to protect our child. As a result, I was also weakened because they suppressed my strength with forbidden potions."
"What are you saying, Zoe?" I asked once again like a bolt of lightning in broad daylight. My heart was in turmoil. I'm sure any mother in the world would have been as shocked as I was to find out their child was taken away without them knowing it was growing inside them.
"Now you need to think clearly, Rose. That shameless man, doesn't deserve to be our husband anymore and if I hadn't been thinking about you, I would have killed him with my own hands from the moment I woke up just like he killed our innocent baby."
I was completely silent while not listening to Zoe's explanation, my she-wolf. I didn't know how to react; tears just flowed down my face. The feelings of anger and disappointment within me became one unit that made my heart break into pieces.
"Where's Luna, why can't you take care of just one person? If anything happens to Luna, I'll kill you right now!" Albert's shout boomed throughout the palace, making me sneer.
Albert was rarely angry; in fact, he only ever got angry when I went out of town without him knowing, and no one knew where I was going. In the end, he almost destroyed the entire city in search of my whereabouts, and he didn't even hesitate to ransack the rest of the Pack for me. Luckily, I arrived at the right time because, otherwise, Albert could have raised the war flag just to find me.
"Find Luna now or I'll chop your heads off!" he continued, snapping me out of my reverie.
"I'm at the park," I finally contacted Albert with a mind link because I didn't want to see the drama continue and have people blame me for always being such a nuisance to my husband, who loved me too much.
As I predicted, Albert ran quickly to my place. He looked at me with a worried gaze, and seeing that gaze made me wonder, since when did he start acting like he loved me too much? It seems that Albert deserved an Oscar because no one noticed his natural acting.
"Where have you been, Rose? You've just recovered," Albert immediately enveloped me in his tight embrace.
I could only stare at her flatly. "The air in the room is suffocating me, I just want to get some fresh air outside."
"Why did you just leave without telling me? I'm afraid something happened to you dear," he asked in a trembling tone, anger clearly visible on his face.
The anger on his face did not stir any emotions in me anymore. I answered his question perfunctorily. "It's too stuffy in the room."
"I understand, Hun, but you're still very weak. Don't go alone. I don't want anything to happen to you." Albert began to look calm. He also began to hold my hand and stroke my head with his other hand.
I might have enjoyed it in the past, but now I chose to brush his hand away.
Seeing what I was doing, Albert looked confused, but I didn't care about him anymore because my heart was really hurting remembering all the atrocities he had done to me.
"Now you better take this medicine, so you can recover quickly." Omega came over with a bowl of dark green, disgusting concoction.
"I don't want it!" I refused quickly, shaking my head as Zoe was also screaming inside my head for me not to take the medicine.
"Don't be stubborn, Rose. You said you wanted to have children? I've consulted with doctors and witches, they say that this medicine is very effective."
"Cut the crap!" snapped Zoe angrily while I stared at Albert with a look full of deep disappointment.
Albert knew I wanted to be a mother so badly, but he was also the one who made my hopes of becoming a mother perish, and now he wanted to use my desire to trap me so that I would be completely barren and his illegitimate child would be the heir to the Jade Pack, wow Albert's thinking was genius.
"Come on, baby, drink up. It's for me and our child," Albert forced again, making my blood boil even more.
"I don't want it, it's bitter!" I quickly flung the medicine away, and in the end, the sticky green liquid just fell to the ground.
"Rose!" snapped Albert angrily as the medicine he had prepared was wasted, and his gentle face disappeared.
I initially felt that by throwing away the damn medicine, I could escape, but I thought wrong because my head suddenly spun, and a few seconds later, darkness began to envelop me, and I immediately fell unconscious in Albert's arms.
