Chapter 1 of After Losing My Child, I Filed for Divorce

Due to my difficulty in conceiving naturally, it took me three years of in vitro fertilization to become pregnant with our baby.

However, because my husband went to take care of his first crush who was experiencing palpitations, I was forced to undergo the abortion of our fully formed baby.

He said casually, "We still have a chance to have children in the future, I don't want to provoke her."

And I completely lost my fertility due to this induced abortion.

I felt a mixture of hatred and resentment towards him.

I had also seen him clearly for who he truly was.

After I requested a divorce, he went mad.

It took us three years of in vitro fertilization to finally become pregnant with our baby.

My husband Luke was the one in our family who was most excited about having a child. When I told him about the abnormal fetal movements and asked him to accompany me to the hospital, he refused.

I had several fetal movements a few times before, and he went to the hospital with me, but nothing happened.

Although he didn't say it, I knew he was unhappy with my making a big deal out of nothing.

"This baby is inauspicious and will harm her. It's just fetal movement, it's not like it hasn't happened before."

I know who it would harm.

His first crush, Nancy Xenos.

I could clearly feel that the fetal movement was different this time, and I begged him to come back.

He finally agreed reluctantly.

But I waited for five hours and he didn't come, so I missed the best time to save the baby.

The fetus died in the womb, leading to induced abortion.

I clenched my fist tightly, making a squeaking sound. I suppressed my anger and dialed his number. "You promised to come, why did you go to see her? I've been trying so hard for three years, and I don't want to go from welcoming new life to becoming a murderer in the last few months."

"Stop acting. You always use fetal movement as an excuse to make me leave Nancy. The baby is affecting her, ever since you got pregnant, she's been experiencing palpitations. How can you be so heartless?"

My husband, the love of my life!

He used my child's life to satisfy that bitch's superstition!

I was both anxious and angry, and more importantly, I was disappointed with him.

"How can you be so cruel? Have you forgotten how much I have suffered for the baby and how much you have endured?" My voice was shaking, and my last glimmer of hope was wiped out. "You murderer! Why don't you just die!"

There was only silence on the other side of the phone.

I was so furious that I ignored my weak body and followed the location of his phone to catch them!

"Luke Carter! Did all the hardship you endured during the three years of in vitro fertilization go to waste?"

My voice erupted in anger the moment I saw Nancy. "You made me have an abortion, just to come find this bitch!?"

Yeah, my husband came to serve Nancy right after he made me have an abortion, bringing her water and wiping her feet.

Nancy, who had her back to the door, reflexively jumped up from the bed and hid behind him, wailing as she pulled the wound.

Luke stood up and splashed the foot washing water on my face.

"Are you crazy? Why are you making a loud scene in the hospital?"

I couldn't dodge in time and got splashed all over.

He was about to scold me, but he shouted in shock when he saw my flat tummy, "Where's the baby?!"

My bloodshot eyes stared at Luke.

I sneered. "Baby? The baby is gone!"

Nancy gently tugged at his shirt and said, "It's all my fault. If I hadn't insisted on calling you over, Madison wouldn't have..."

He came back to his senses and looked at me with a frown.

"Madison! That's enough! I know it was wrong of me to force you to have an abortion, but this was my own decision and has nothing to do with Nancy. Don't take your anger out on her."

From beginning to end, Luke pushed me away, and protected her behind him.

Seeing that I was still angry, he was also afraid that I would lose control and hurt Nancy, so he quickly asked the nurse to pull me away.

"We are still young, and we still have a chance. Didn't the doctor say last time that you have a good physical condition? If you can get pregnant once, you can get pregnant again. We will have many babies in the future. How about one a year?"

He chattered a lot, all to buy time for Nancy.

Was I that scary? Was he afraid that I, someone who just had an abortion, would kill his first crush?

But he killed our only child!

When I got home, my mother was already in the kitchen cooking some food from her hometown.

"You guys are back? Madison, try this chicken soup. I made it for the whole afternoon..."

When my mother saw my belly, her hands trembled and she broke the plate.

"What happened?" She ran over with red eyes and supported me. "Madison, you..."

I really couldn't bear to tell my mother the truth.

Not only my mother, but also all six people in the two families were looking forward to this baby.

Luke didn't take my words to heart at all.

He was thinking about Nancy all the time.

He was really cruel, and he also really loved Nancy.

I suppressed the bloody taste coming out of my throat, pulled my mother into the room and closed the door.

"I didn't agree you to marry him in the first place! He has a strong and selfish personality, but you just didn't believe it! You've been married for five years, and it took three years for you to get pregnant through in vitro fertilization. Now the baby is six months old, and how could you do the abortion!

"He's just determined that you can't live without him!

"Will you die if you leave him?

"I'm so angry! You unfilial daughter!"

Yes, he was sure that I loved him terribly.

He was sure that he was my only one.

If it weren't for the fact that I was the only child in my family, my parents would have cut off ties with me because of him.

My mother cried so much that she almost lost her breath.

"You have to give me a definite answer today.

"Will you divorce him or not?"
