Abandoned for His First Love, Returned as Racing Champion

Quincy had once been a talented racing driver, only stopping so she could become Leonard’s navigator.

The manager quickly replied: [That’s amazing, Miss Coleman. I’ll inform the boss immediately. He’ll surely be very pleased!]

Not long later, a person using the nickname “Rocco” sent a friend request.

Once Quincy accepted it, the other person introduced himself: [Centaurus investor, Rocco Dixon.]

Quincy became slightly stunned. Rocco, the underground young master feared by everyone in Phoenix?

So, he was the real boss behind Centaurus.

After accepting the request, Quincy went straight to the topic: [I want to enter next month’s RPC.]

The registration had already ended, but Rocco obviously had his own methods.

Sure enough, the other side quickly sent a reply: [As you wish. I’ll arrange a coach and navigator for you as fast as possible.]

[Thank you.] Quincy answered.

That night, Leonard returned home after midnight.

Seeing Quincy still awake, he took a diamond necklace from his pocket. “I especially bought this for you. Try it on.”

Quincy quietly pushed his hand away. “Just leave it there.”

Leonard paused for a moment. “Are you upset because I chose Cora as my navigator?”

Quincy looked straight at him. “If I am, will you change your decision?”

“...Quincy.” Leonard sounded helpless. “It’s only one race. The person I love is you, and that’ll never change.”

“Right, back in the basement, what were you trying to say earlier?”

Quincy’s nose stung, and her throat tightened. “It doesn’t matter anymore.”

Leonard wanted to say something, but held it back. In the end, he stayed silent, stood up, and walked into the bathroom.

Suddenly, the phone Leonard left beside the bed vibrated once.

[Tired today, right? Rest early, oh, see you tomorrow!]

It was Cora.

So, Leonard wasn’t working overtime at the hospital. He had been staying with Cora until now.

That meant the necklace, just like their marriage, was only compensation.

Quincy’s nose painfully stung, her heart full of mixed emotions.

After Leonard finished showering, he hugged Quincy from behind like usual, getting ready to sleep.

Just as Quincy was about to push him away, the phone vibrated again.

Leonard glanced at it once and immediately let her go to grab the phone.

The way he seriously replied to the messages looked exactly like back then when he proposed to her.

Quincy bit her lips hard, stopping her tears from falling.

Those sweet memories replayed in her mind one after another like moving pictures, and she stayed awake the entire night.

Early the next morning, Cora arrived, her voice full of obvious pride and provocation. “I came to bring Leonard’s racing clothes. I didn’t disturb you, right?”

Quincy kept her head lowered while cutting the green plants, emotions swirling in her eyes. She only softly answered with an “hmm.”

Seeing her so calm made Cora feel like she had punched empty cotton.

She expected Quincy to cry miserably and kneel in front of her, begging her to return Leonard.

But Quincy showed almost no reaction at all.

Cora angrily clenched her teeth and spoke louder. “Leonard already agreed to join the RPC race with me. This time, I’m the navigator beside him!”

“Quincy, do you even know how long I waited for today?”

Only then did Quincy raise her eyes toward her, both eyes red.

If this had happened before, Quincy would’ve already exploded in anger and slapped Cora hard.

But now, her lips only trembled slightly as she coldly said, “Are you done talking? If you are, then leave.”

“What are you so proud of?” Cora mocked. “Do you really think he loved you during these five years? He only stayed because he felt guilty.”

She bent down beside Quincy’s ear, her voice very soft, but every word clear. “But his guilt is already gone. From now on, I’ll sit beside him in the co-driver seat and stay with him through every race track.”

Quincy tightly clenched her hands and told the servant to send the guest out.

Cora coldly laughed. “A cripple like you, let’s see how long you can still stay proud. The spot of Mrs. Barnes will belong to me sooner or later!”

Right before leaving, Cora picked up a vase and smashed it toward the wedding picture on the wall.

The glass shattered at once, the cracks cutting through the embracing couple in the center.

Cora smiled smugly, waiting to see Quincy lose control.

But Quincy only gave it one glance, then looked away and told the nanny who hurried over after hearing the sound, “Remove the photo and throw it out.”
