You're The One That I Love

Everyone in this country's elite circles knew I was the most devoted follower on Connor Lynch's side.

Even though I knew he had a lover he couldn't forget, I remained utterly loyal to him. He asked me to retrieve his lover's lost bracelet when it fell off a cliff, and I ended up breaking my leg. He asked me to take the blame for his lover's crime, which landed me in prison for two years.

People said I loved Connor so much that I had completely discarded my dignity. They believe I would do anything without limits to hold onto the title of his fiancée.

When Connor announced his breaking off our engagement, everyone eagerly awaited my breakdown. Still, I didn't beg or plead as they expected. I just nodded calmly and said, "Okay."

What they didn't know was that I've never loved Connor. Everything I did was to get the system to save my real love—Connor's older brother, the true heir of the Lynch Family, Colton Lynch.

——

Connor seemed startled and slightly gloomy after hearing what I stated. "Did you hear what I said clearly? I said I want to call off the engagement."

"I heard you and I agree." After all, I never wanted to marry him in the first place.

My childhood sweetheart and fiancé, Colton, was gravely injured and went into a coma after rescuing me from a kidnapping six years ago. I sought help from countless doctors, but no one could save him.

Just when I was desperate, the system found me. It promised that if I stayed by Connor's side for six years and agreed to all his requests, it would awaken Colton for me.

However, Connor was a notorious second-generation heir among the country's elite society. Having been a mischievous child, he could do anything ridiculous for Lily Spelman. After one particularly outrageous incident, his family could no longer tolerate him and sent him abroad.

When Colton's accident left the family without an heir, they brought Connor back to fulfill the engagement with me in his brother's place. Connor resented me for taking his lover's place and hated me, his former sister-in-law, to the bone. Even so, I resolutely agreed to the system's request.

I went from being the admired eldest daughter of the Crawford family to a despised figure clinging to Connor's side. Still, six years in exchange for Colton's life was worth it.

Now, only five days remained until the end of the six years. Once those five days passed, everything would return to how it was.

Connor assumed my silence meant I was heartbroken. He sneered coldly, "If you don't want to break off the engagement, there's another way. Donate your kidney to Lily and I'll let you stay by my side."

My heart sank, but I slowly lifted my head. "Okay."

Breaking the engagement or donating a kidney—it didn't matter as long as I could stay alive long enough to see Colton again. I'd agree to any condition.

When I spoke, not only Connor but his friends were also shocked. Then, the mocking laughter started.

"I really didn't expect the Crawford family's princess to be so cheap. She's willing to do anything just to stay by Connor's side."

"Stop daydreaming. Even if you give Connor your life, he will only have Lily in his heart."

Another man leered at me with a wicked grin. "I wonder if she really would agree to anything. Connor, since the surgery's still a while away, why not let this chick entertain us in the meantime?"

I thought Connor would continue humiliating me, but his expression darkened instantly. "Even if she's a chick, she's mine. No one else is allowed to touch her."
