After Learning That My Wife of 20 Years Had A Child, I Left For Another Place

I tried to talk to Melinda, but she always avoided me by saying work, or she would say, “You think too much about nothing.”

Later, we became what we were now.

The relationship was broken and interests prevailed.

“Put on your clothes and go out with me. I brought Kevin and Leon back to spend time with you today.”

Seeing that I didn’t move, she frowned, pulled a coat casually, forced me to put it on and zipped it up.

She didn’t forget to remind me.

“Also, don’t talk nonsense anymore. I’ll explain the name Leon to you another day.”

After arriving at the place, Melinda pushed Leon into my arms.

“You should get familiar with Leon first.”

Then, she bent down, as gently as she treated Kevin.

“Leon will play with Uncle Jefferson today and Daddy and Mommy will buy clothes and toys for Leon, okay?”

Leon agreed happily.

I was numbly led by him to the food street at the other end.

Like all children, he also craved fried food.

I didn’t know if he could eat it, so I wanted to call Melinda to ask.

But she didn’t answer the phone. Seven-year-old Leon saw it and showed his fangs for the first time.

“My parents are busy dating. Why are you calling to disturb them? You are not my father, why do you care whether I can eat these? Mom asked you to take me out to play, you can buy me whatever I want to play and eat! You don’t have to worry about the rest, you are just an outsider!”

I choked and couldn’t say anything to refute it.

When I went back, Leon cried out that his stomach hurt and his face turned pale.

Kevin was so scared that he trembled and Melinda was also scared, stepped on the accelerator and went to the hospital.

After a check, the doctor said it was acute gastroenteritis and the situation was quite serious.

It was recommended to give an IV drip and be hospitalized for observation.

The weak Leon cried for his father and looked at me in fear.

“I told you that I have a weak stomach and can’t eat sugar-coated cakes. But Uncle Jefferson said he wanted to buy them and bought me a fist-sized one and insisted that I eat it. After eating it, I started to feel pain.”

Kevin’s eyes were red and he looked at me pleadingly.

“Jefferson, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have fallen in love with Melinda and shouldn’t have appeared in front of you. If you have anything to say, just come to me. Please don’t hurt my Leon. He was born after Melinda’s pregnancy. He is the life of Melinda and me!”

I realized something was wrong and tried to explain.

Melinda’s slap landed on my face first. She was furious and wanted to kill me.

“I told you to vent your anger on me! I didn’t expect you to hurt an innocent child!”

I argued with her with my neck stiff.

“It’s not me! He wanted to eat it himself! I wanted to call you to ask if he could eat it, but you didn’t answer!”

“Enough, shut up!”

Melinda looked at me with indifference in her eyes.

“I remember that you always loved eating sugar-coated cakes. Jefferson, you are really not suitable for having children.”

One sentence defined me and made me speechless.

She looked at me disappointedly, took out the folded divorce agreement from her pocket and signed it with the hospital pen.

“Didn’t you always want a divorce? Then divorce first. I am worried that you will live with them in an unbalanced state of mind. When you adjust yourself, we will talk about remarriage.”

I suddenly felt relieved and stopped making excuses. I calmly picked up the divorce agreement thrown on the ground and folded it up.

Before leaving, I looked at Melinda calmly.

“Melinda, I gave up eating sugar-coated cakes ten years ago because they hurt my teeth. Have you forgotten?”
