Alpha Ruzo’s eyes bent into a frown. Probably the more I delayed, the more he thought I was going to beg on their behalf.
“There's something you don't know.” My voice set out, cold and dull..
“What's that mom?” His lips twitched in disgust. He hates me trying to defend those who intentionally hurt us. The elders and Gerald.
“I know you think I want to defend them, but NO. That's not what I'm about to say.” I let him know.
“Speak mom, you know you're getting me more impatient?” He lashed at me, this, making me find the courage to finally say this secret I've been bottling up for years.
“I'm not your real mother,” I murmured, slowly raising my eyes to watch his reaction. He was pale and angry. I ignored.
“But she!” I pointed to Gerald.
“What mom? Are you trying to act insane or really in–” His words cut off short but even when he didn't want to complete it, I knew what he was going to say.
Slowly my mind and memory began to transform, taking me back in time to portray a perfect story of how it happened.

Many years ago, when I was a young teen, upon hearing that my sister was pregnant, I came to the pack estate here for a visit. I lived on a college campus.
This was to fulfill my sister's request of staying with her for a little while.
“I miss you so much, my baby. Your second baby is on the way. Come take care of her.” She teased me. I got elated, especially as she made it known to me I was gonna have a niece soon.
“I'm coming right away, sis.” I giggled. I didn't need to get anything from my room, just the dress I wore and my phone.
“This joy is enough to keep me happy.”
From campus, I hired a taxi to the pack estate here which is about a thirty minute drive. Seeing me run into the vicinity, Gerald stormed out looking bewildered.
“I didn't say I gave birth, why are you looking so happy?” She said as she pulled me into a tight hug. I giggled, bursting into joyous laughter.
“What a long time I saw you.”
“Yes sis, I've been busy in school.” I studied Engineering.
She led me inside. “My mate is at home. He will be excited to see his sister-in-law as well.”
“Ohhh!”
When we arrived, he came out to greet me. I rushed towards him, hugging him.
“Thanks,” I mumbled shyly, looking back at my sister who smirked, hiding her face.
“What's it?” Alpha Leo, who was currently ruling, got curious. His lips were twitched into a slight smile.
“Thank you for making my sister a prospective mother.” I finally got to say, covering my face.
“Aww-wwww.” He blushed, gently pushing me back to my sister. “I wouldn't laugh. No. I can't.”
He seemed so funny.
“So what about school?” He asked and I felt he cared so much.
“Pretty fine, thanks so much Alpha.” I bowed, I was grateful for his support. “I never know how my school would be without your support.”
“It's okay. It's nothing.” He uttered. My sister with him pulled me closer into a tight hug.
“I'll be going to the market to get you what to eat.” Gerald informed. I grabbed her hand, shaking my head.
“No. You're pregnant. You shouldn't do anything. I'll help you with the market.” I offered but she gently shook her head.
“After a long time you've finally become my guest, let me treat you to a delicious meal. Don't worry, I know your favorites.” She said, patting my cheek.
“Woww–” I didn't know what to say to her and I couldn't refuse her. It would make her feel bad.
“Okay sis.”
After she left, her mate walked up to me in the living room with a glass of yogurt and a piece of cake. Seeing my favorite snacks, smiles glowed up on my face.
“Rianna, you can just manage this while waiting for her to return.”
“Woww. Thanks so much.” I was so elated as I took the snacks and in no time began to consume them, enjoying the teledrama on the TV.
Barely ten minutes after finishing it, I started feeling drowsy. I stiffened up to return the glass in the kitchen. Suddenly, he approached. As if he was watching.
“Don't worry, feel at home.”
“Your eyes look dull and black. Seems you've been denying yourself sleep because of school?”
My lips spread wide in a surprise smile. “How did you know, Alpha?”
“Of course, I do.” He uttered as he took the small tray with the glass from me.
“Hmm,” I breathed in. “But it's because I really want to get top grades.”
“Yea, I know you already.” He laughed, then hummed. “Engineering is not for the weak, it's one of the toughest courses but even at that, you need to get yourself a proper sleep. Okay?” Leo demanded, straining his eyes, making sure I listened to what he said.
“Yes Alpha.”
“Sure. If you feel sleepy now, feel free to use the bed in the bedroom. We have two, the one I share with your sister and the spare one. You could use the spare.”
“Where is it?” I asked because I was already feeling sleepy.
“Follow me!”
I walked behind him, from where he directed me to the bedroom. I nodded in gratitude, dashing in and jumping on the bed. My eyes were getting heavier.
“Since I'm on the bed, let me sleep at once.” I murmured to myself, moaning as I savored the sweet feeling of being on a soft, comfy bed with a similar pillow.
I must have slept until sometime later when I felt my clothes slowly pulled off and someone's hands slowly climbing up my body. It felt even more comfy.
It was like a dream.
After this, I felt my legs parted, the hands continued to savor my body, wiping in blissful sensations into me.
When I felt the sudden push of a rod-like stuff into me, I sprang up wincing in pain. Sleep faded away from my eyes.
