Just as Jessica was desperately thinking about how to explain to her mother, she stopped turning the door handle.
She walked away while talking outside the door. "She must have fallen asleep. She even locked the door."
Jessica, who understood everything, pushed him away, with anger in her eyes. "Are you crazy?"
Jacob got up from her and sneered at her words.
"Am I crazy? I think you're the one who's crazy! It's okay that you were jealous and called Kelsey your sister-in-law today, but I've already explained it to you clearly. Why did you still say that at the dinner table today?"
Seeing the anger in his eyes, she suddenly lost her strength.
She did not understand. It was clearly just a revenge, so why did he pretend to be so affectionate, so affectionate that she mistakenly thought he loved her.
Jessica lowered her eyes, as if she was explaining to him or telling herself.
"Today at the dinner table, you personally put the family heirloom on Kelsey's hand. When we played Truth or Dare, you lost and chose Dare to kiss Kelsey for a full five minutes. Aren't you going to get engaged in five days? Shouldn't I regard her my sister-in-law?"
Jacob looked at her with helplessness.
He said harshly, "I know I shouldn't have done it! But my parents were there at that time, so I had no choice but to do that. Do you think I should kiss you in front of her parents and mine?"
He questioned her back.
For a moment, she did not know what to answer.
Jacob had promised her that he would take her abroad to get married, but he could not make it public before then.
So she nodded and responded, "You're right, you can't kiss me."
And you can't even love me.
Then what's the point of our relationship? You were with me out of revenge, so after so many years, you should have taken enough revenge and should be able to let me go.
You're going to marry Kelsey in five days after all.
Jessica did not say the rest of the words.
She lowered her eyes, letting tears slide down from her eyes, down her chin and onto the bed.
Seeing the expression on her face, Jacob felt a bit flustered.
Why was she crying now when she clearly affirmed his actions?
In the years they had been together, he had never seen her like this.
Back then, she was always cheerful and full of energy. Even when Damien wanted to introduce him to a girl, she always jokingly warned him that he could only have her as his girlfriend.
Now, even though the situation was similar, she was crying.
He took a step forward, hugged her in his arms and lowered his head to coax her. "I was too fierce. I'm sorry, baby. I apologize to you. I just couldn't bear it when you pushed me to someone else. Didn't we agree to be together for the rest of our lives? Don't forget it, okay?"
He kissed her lips gently and said, "Wait for me, okay? I will definitely take you abroad soon and then we will get married."
He then kissed her eyelids.
She closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face.
It was obviously him who pushed her away first and it was obviously him who did not love her. So what was the point of saying all of these now?
Besides, she would be leaving in five days and she would not wait any longer.
