"Alaistor,are you crazy?!"
Richard burst into tears before I could explain,"Laura,I was afraid that Alaistor,the father,would be unhappy if I coaxed Ares to sleep.I wanted to explain to him,but he said I wanted to take the child away and cut off my hand so that I could never hold the child again."
His words like a knife stabbed my chest again and again."I just felt sorry for Ares and wanted to make him comfortable.How could he do this to me?"
Laura looked at me gloomily,"You rolled down from the upstairs and broke your leg,so things turned out like this.Why do you want to vent your anger on Richard?"
"You’re not a qualified father.You have medicine on your leg and cannot touch the child.Richard is kind enough to help you.Why did you hit him?!If you don't love your child,then why can’t you allow others to love him?!"
“I was not a qualified father and I didn't love my child?”the voice sounded in my head.
Tears welled up in my eyes,and I couldn’t help to yell at her angrily."If I'm not a good father,then what about you?Do you dare to tell me why I rolled down from the upstairs,where is my own child and what medicine you give me?!"
Laura frowned and said,"Ares was sleeping inside the room,and the medicine I gave was to relieve your leg pain.Don't you know all this?"
"As for you rolling down from the upstairs,of course it was your own carelessness.There were so many people,why did you get pushed down?You are useless,and you have the nerve to hurt Richard.You’re a father,but how can you bear to hurt another father?Apologize to Richard!"
Yes,there were so many people,why did I get pushed down?Looking at her righteous appearance,I suddenly laughed.My wife was a complete liar and murderer!
I picked up the dagger on the ground and used all my strength to cut my left hand more than a dozen times.I cut it to the bone,until the blood gathered in a pool at my feet.
Laura was shocked,"Alaistor,what are you doing?Stop it!"
I threw away the dagger and looked at her calmly,"Laura,you are right.I shouldn't hurt another father,so I am atoning for your sins to your sweetheart.Is that sincere enough?"
After I said that,I turned and left.Looking at the bloodstains under my feet and my staggering back,Laura wanted to come over to help me.However,Richard hugged her neck.
"Laura,I'm in so much pain.Can you take me to the hospital?We can't let Ares be left alone."
Laura struggled for a moment,but she finally supported Richard and walked in the opposite direction of me.
A few hours later,Laura called me,"Alaistor,have you treated the wound?Don't worry,I asked someone to use a harmless ointment for Richard.I'm sorry,I shouldn't have said that to you today."
Though she seemed to be a little bit nicer,she still annoyed,"However,the doctor said that the medicine you applied is not suitable for contact with children.Richard likes children and has experience.Ares still relies on him to help take care of the baby during this period.I take care of him as a token of gratitude.Don't take it to heart."
I said lightly,"I'm fine.Take good care of him and the child."
"I know my husband is the most sensible.I also told my mother that she won't bully you anymore in the future,"Laura was being relieved
"You made a great contribution to Cloy Family as you gave a grandson.The day after tomorrow,I will hold a celebration party for you to pay my mistake.Just wait for it."
The local TV station broadcasted the whole night that the president of Cloy Group was so angry that her son got injured.She then invited dozens of top doctors from all over the country by helicopter overnight just to treat a small wound for her sweetheart.
Meanwhile,I took out iodine and hemostatic drugs and simply treated the wound on my hand.
The next day,Laura still didn't come back,so I packed up all my things and donated them.The marriage certificate that I once cherished was torn into pieces and thrown into the trash can.
At noon on the third day,Laura sent me a Whatsapp message,"Alaistor,I'm on my way to the hotel to check everything.I'll ask the assistant to pick you up in the afternoon."
In fact,she was holding Richard's hand,as she was holding Ares in her arms and shopping in the major luxury brand stores in the mall.
They walked together and got attention from envious eyes of all the store clerks.

"But I heard that Ms.Cloy seems to have booked a minimum-priced banquet at the hotel today,as if to celebrate her husband."

A few hours later,Laura finally took Richard and Ares to the hotel.However,she was told that I hadn't shown up yet.
Laura looked at the time.It had been an hour since the agreed time.She felt a little strange.I never was late for a date with her.Just when she was about to make a phone call to ask,the assistant ran over with documents in a panic.Her tone was anxious.
"Mrs.Cloy,it's bad.I think your husband is missing.Someone just delivered these things."
