The Three Guys Regretted after I Got Married

The next morning, the doctor told me that I could be discharged.

I called Huxley, but he was busy asking for more benefits from the Price family and had no time for me.

I looked at the three pinned chat windows on my phone, and there was no message from any of the three guys.

In the end, I sent them messages. "I'm being discharged today."

Almost simultaneously, I received three identical messages. "There's an urgent international video conference I can't get away from. I've already sent a driver to pick you up."

I looked at the three identical texts and laughed.

In the past, even if I had just a cold, they would all forgo billion-dollar contracts to stay by my bedside.

Now, I had narrowly escaped death, yet I was less important than their so-called "conference."

The car drove into the Burton family's estate.

However, the scene before me left me stunned.

The vast lawn was adorned with pink flowers and colorful balloons, with a champagne tower stacked high, and a band was playing music.

The so-called "international video conference" turned out to be Cailey's birthday party.

I walked into the living room, feeling like I didn't belong.

In the center of the living room, Cailey, in a pristine white princess dress, was making a wish in front of a cake with eighteen candles.

Rodger, Larry, and Ethan, my three fiancés, surrounded her, singing the birthday song.

The atmosphere was so warm. They seemed to be the real family.

And I, the daughter of the Burton family, was nothing more than an unwelcome intruder.

Ethan was the first to notice me, and his smile vanished instantly.

He frowned and said in a tone full of reproach. "Didn't I tell you to come back later? It's Cailey's birthday today. It only happens once a year, and you have to come and ruin it?"

His words pierced my heart.

Cailey immediately opened her eyes, and a hint of triumph quickly flashed through them.

She hid behind Rodger and said timidly, "It's not Lorna's fault. It's me… I'm not worthy of celebrating my birthday… Lorna is the daughter of the Burton family, and I'm just a servant's daughter. I don't deserve any of this…"

Rodger patted Cailey's shoulder and turned to me. "Lorna, you were born with everything the Burton family has. Why do you have to begrudge Cailey this one birthday? Can't you be more open-hearted?"

Was he asking me to be more generous?

My gaze drifted past them to the dining table.

The open bottle of red wine was a rare vintage from Huxley's cellar. He had told me to save it for my wedding.

At that moment, Larry poured the bottle with significant meaning into Cailey's glass.

Noticing my gaze, Larry nonchalantly swirled the wine in his glass. "It's just a bottle of wine. The Burton family is rich. Don't be so petty. Cailey has never tasted such fine wine. What's wrong with me to let her try it?" He paused and continued, "Or I'll pay for it from my dividends."

The servants began to serve the dishes, and even Vida was invited to sit at the main table.

The large dining table had no place for me.

The butler stood awkwardly to the side and looked to the three young guys for help.

Ethan, however, waved his hand impatiently. "She just got out of the hospital and can't eat anything greasy. Get her some plain porridge and let her eat in her room."

I silently turned and walked up the stairs, step by step.

Behind me, I heard Larry's mocking laugh. "See? We've spoiled her too much, so she's developed this entitled attitude."

I clenched the banister and forced a bitter smile.

I now gave up on them since they didn't want me.
