Chapter 1 of The Pregnancy That Ruined My Luna Ceremony

Willow POV

The night before my Luna ceremony, everything changed. It was supposed to be the eve of a joyous occasion, a union that would bind me to Alpha Noah, my fated mate, and make me the Luna of the pack. But fate had other plans.

A notification buzzed on my phone as I was going over the final details for tomorrow’s ceremony. I glanced at the screen and saw a message from an unknown number.

Curiously, I opened the message. What I saw froze the blood in my veins—a screenshot of Sabrina, standing in front of Noah, holding up a baby scan. His face was filled with joy and pride. My hands trembled as I scrolled to the next image, where he was embracing her, his expression filled with a happiness he had never shown me.

The truth glared at me. Sabrina was pregnant. And judging by Noah’s reaction, he was the father of the baby not just that, he had a sash across his shoulder that read ‘Super dad’.

My mind raced, the room spinning as the reality of what just happened hit me. Tomorrow, I was supposed to become Luna, but now... how could I stand before the pack, knowing that Noah had already staked his claim on another? How could I bind myself to a man who had betrayed me so completely?

With shaking hands, I dialed Noah’s number, needing to hear his voice, to confirm what I already knew deep in my bones. But even as the phone rang, I knew that nothing he could say would fix this.

The call connected, but instead of his usual warm greeting, Noah’s voice was cold, detached.

"Willow, what’s going on? Tomorrow is your Luna ceremony, why are you calling me this late?"

I could hear voices in the background, and then the unmistakable sound of Sabrina laughing. The sound pierced through my heart causing pain. Memories of the pictures I had just seen flitted into my mind.

My voice was steady,  but I was boiling with anger inside. "Noah, do you have something you need to tell me?"

There was a pause, and then his tone hardened. "Willow, I’m busy. Can this wait?"

"Busy with what? Celebrating Sabrina’s pregnancy?" The words tasted bitter as I spat them out.

Silence. For a split second, I thought the call had dropped. But then I heard the sharp inhale of breath on the other end, followed by his response—cold, calculating.

"Where did you hear that?" His voice was low, a dangerous edge creeping in.

"Does it matter? I saw the pictures, Noah. You’ve been keeping this from me, haven’t you?"

The silence returned,  he didn’t say anything. And then, from the background, I heard Sabrina’s voice, a soft, innocent tone that made my blood boil. "C’mon Noah, we need to take more pictures with the baby's scan.”

Noah's next words were cruel. "Willow, don’t do this. Not now. We have the ceremony tomorrow. Just—"

"There won’t be a ceremony," I cut him off, my voice icy. "I reject you, Noah. I reject you as my mate and as my Alpha."

I hung up, my heart pounding, this was the end. I wasn’t going to stand by and let him manipulate me, not anymore. He could have his mistress and their unborn child. I wouldn’t be the Luna in a pack built on lies.

***

I moved quickly, throwing my belongings into a suitcase. I didn’t need to stay and wait for his excuses or his anger. I was done. But before I could make it out the door, the sound of tyres screeching in front of the Packhouse echoed through the night.

I glanced out the window and saw Noah’s car pull up, Sabrina seated smugly beside him. A fresh wave of disgust washed over me as I watched them. He wasn’t even trying to hide it anymore.

Steeling myself, I stepped outside, suitcase in hand.

Noah’s gaze met mine the moment I appeared. There was no warmth in his gaze, only the cold, calculating look of an Alpha used to getting his way. He stepped out of the car, leaving Sabrina seated inside. For once, she looked nervous, her hands wringing in her lap as she watched us.

"Willow, what the hell is this?" Noah’s voice was a low growl, filled with frustration. "Tomorrow is your Luna ceremony. You can’t just walk away now."

I met his gaze coldly. "I know about the baby, Noah. Sabrina’s pregnancy." I motioned toward the car, where Sabrina’s eyes darted between us, wide with shock.

Noah stiffened, "It’s not what you think," he started, but I cut him off.

"Then what is it? Tell me how it’s any different from the truth I’ve already seen with my own eyes!" My voice rose, "You’ve chosen her. So why should I stand by and be your Luna?"

"Willow, this isn’t what you think," he repeated, more forcefully this time. "Sabrina is part of the pack. She—"

"I don’t care what role she plays in your life," I interrupted again, my voice hardening. "She’s pregnant, Noah. That’s not something you can explain away with your authority or pack duty."

Noah’s expression turned steely, his voice dropping to a dangerous tone. "Willow, you’re making a mistake. You’re my mate. This is bigger than both of us. The pack needs a Luna, and that’s you."

I shook my head, "Not anymore. You made your choice, and I’m making mine."

Without waiting for his response, I walked away, leaving him and his lies behind.

As I strode down the path, the cool night air hit my face, sharp and refreshing, like a clean break from the life I had once known. The moon’s glow lit my way, a silent reminder that no matter what, I would find my strength—alone if I had to.

Behind me, Noah’s voice carried through the night, desperate and angry. "Willow! Think about what you’re doing!"

But I didn’t look back. Not this time.
