"Come here! I’m going to kill you for your betrayal, Karylle!" he snarled.
He dragged me with force, and with his strength, it didn’t take long before we reached the edge of the forest.
Maybe it was the shock of their audacity, the weight of what I had done to Devon, and the searing pain of their betrayal. All the strength I had seemed to vanish.
"You’re damn well going to pay for what you did!"
His fist collided with me, and the impact left me stunned. Was he really going to hurt me? After everything they did, after all the schemes they plotted against me, he had the nerve to strike me?
"You’re the one who’s cheating," I thought bitterly, but I couldn’t bring myself to say it aloud.
I dropped to my knees, knowing I still had to pretend I was ignorant of everything. I had to stay with him until I gave birth, and so did Karina. I would take her child and set Devon against Daniel. Their hatred would destroy them, and Karina would come to despise him just as much.
"P-please… don’t do this. I’m sorry. Lock me up, strip me of my freedom, but don’t hurt me or our child," I pleaded.
Hold on, Karylle. Just one more month of suffering, and it will lead you to lifelong satisfaction because I’ll leave with my twins and Karina’s son. They won’t have a chance but to marry when I’m gone, while Karina is in despair because I’ll make her believe Daniel killed her baby.
She’ll regret ever attracting Daniel. They’ll both regret it for the rest of their lives.
“P-please…”
He huffed, grabbed my hair, and yanked me to my feet. Pain flared in my scalp, but I stayed silent. I wanted to hear what he had to say.
"You’ll be my whore in this house, and that’s all you’ll ever be. You’re not leaving. You’re grounded for life. Do you understand?"
"Y-yes. I’ll do it. Just don’t hurt our baby," I whispered.
His gaze dropped to my stomach, and a grin spread across his face. Anger and doubt gleamed in his eyes.
"My baby… or my brother’s?"
My lips trembled with rage. He was the one who strayed. He was the unfaithful one, not me. And yet he dared to question my child’s paternity. These daughters will strip all your wealth once we’re back, Daniel. My wealth that you inherited because of marriage.
"Y-yours…"
He must have wanted me or the babies dead, because without hesitation, he threw me against a tree. The force of the impact ripped a groan from my lips, and my wolf stirred, desperate to break free.
"Daniel!" my sister’s voice called out.
She reached me first, delivering two sharp slaps to my face before running to him.
"Don’t leave me!" she cried. "I hate that slut!" She pointed at me. "She covets my fiancé and I hate your brother!"
The absurdity of their performance nearly made me laugh. How could they act as if they weren’t lovers? As if I hadn’t caught them kissing—or worse? Now they were playing the victims. What’s next? Would they claim their affair was born from spite?
It was entirely possible.
Later, I descended the stairs, my teeth grinding as I watched them enter the house hand in hand. The servants whispered in alarm, but I kept walking, my fists clenched at my sides.
Daniel turned to face me.
"Karina is moving in. She’ll live here with me. Get your things and move into another room," he ordered coldly.
I locked eyes with my sister, who had her head bowed but was grinning triumphantly.
"You’re going to sleep with her?"
"Yes!" he shouted. "I’ll share my bed with her, have sex with her—because you cheated on me! You deserve this punishment!"
Blinded by rage, I charged toward them, ready to strike, but they moved quickly, disappearing into the room downstairs. I pounded on the door, pouring all my wolf strength into the blows. I was ready to tear it down when it suddenly opened.
My eyes widened at the sight before me.
Daniel wasted no time. He returned to the bed, climbing on top of Karina.
"You want to disturb us?" he sneered as he positioned himself over her.
My heart shattered, even though I knew the truth about their affair.
They both smirked as they turned to me, moaning louder for effect.
"Be our audience, Karylle," my sister mocked, pulling him closer.
"Watch us. Don’t blink. This is your punishment for cheating on us," Daniel growled.
I turned away, but something hot struck my leg, and I collapsed.
Wolfbane.
It wasn’t potent enough to kill me, but it drained my strength.
"Leave now, and your baby will die," Daniel warned.
I had no choice but to endure their nightly torture. Everything would be worth it once I leave this place and start my revenge.
He abandoned me for her.
As I lay on the brink of childbirth, I overheard his final command to the midwife.
"Kill her once the baby is born. I’m offering her child to our rival pack as a gift."
What?!
