The Crippled Groom's Revenge

This sentence completely angered Anne and the crisp sound of slaps spread throughout the main courtyard.

The servants passing by were excited and wished that I would be driven out of the Sherlock Family. Everyone was ashamed of me, even Anne was no exception.

"I climbed up to my current position bit by bit. Forget it, it's a waste of words to tell you. Get out."

I went out obediently, but William's hand blocked me.

"Wouldn't it be too easy for him to just let him go?"

William pointed to the doghouse at the door with interest. "I heard that you lost your mother when you were young and have never experienced what maternal love is. It just gave birth to a litter and the cubs died. Why don't you recognize it as your mother?"

I clenched my fists tightly, "Get lost."

William laughed. "The cowardly son-in-law has a temper."

He suddenly stopped laughing, his eyebrows and eyes were ferocious. "Who are you? You are worthy of asking me to get lost?"

William clapped his hands and two burly bodyguards blocked my way. "Anne."

Anne raised her hand, "James, you really should be taught a lesson. Hold him down."

The two bodyguards held my shoulders tightly and I didn’t know who kicked my knees and I was forced to kneel in front of the doghouse.

"This bitch is twelve years old this year. When she was four years old, there was a fire at home. She held the water pipe in her mouth and put out the fire. She is a hero of the Sherlock Family. When she was eight years old, my uncle fell down the stairs while dismantling something. It was she who supported him from behind. Every New Year, she can sit at the table for dinner. Trash, if you accept this mother, no one in the Sherlock Family will dare to disrespect you in the future."

William stepped on my head and forced me to prostrate. The dog bowl was in front of my head and it made a crisp sound after the collision. And the cheers of the Sherlock Family servants.

William whistled like a dogfight. My face was deeply embedded in the mud and my vision gradually blurred.

I said word by word, "I, James, will never go back to the Sherlock old house again."

I looked at the house halfway up the mountain and I had repaid the life-saving grace. "Even if the old man comes to find me in person, I will never step into the old house."

William pulled me up from the ground and clicked his tongue twice. "If you don't come back, how can you look at your mother?"

After saying that, William threw me out.

Anne didn't have any mercy or charity throughout the whole process. There was only disgust in those eyes.

"My grandfather came to you personally? James, do you think too highly of yourself? You don't think that our Sherlock Family is begging you to marry into the family, right? You are just a stray dog and I feel dirty just looking at you. Since you are so dissatisfied, why don't I talk to grandpa and cancel our marriage."

"Okay," I answered shortly.

Anne narrowed her eyes, full of hatred. "Ignorant idiot!"

I didn’t know where I offended this lady.

Anne pinched my ears. "A useless waste, why do you think grandpa would look up to you? You are just a liar."

William stepped on my fingers condescendingly. "You are like a running dog when you leave home."

I stood up. Gritting my teeth and looking at the dog outside.

"Don't look at me. Even if Grandpa comes today, you have to get out of here!" Anne shouted at me.

I brushed off the dust on my body.

"The old man saved my life back then. You treated me like this, but it's not a crime punishable by death. I don't want to kill anyone. Give me the Black Gold Ancient Knife and today's matter will be written off."

The two of them laughed out loud. It was as if I had told a complete joke.
