Chapter 1 of The Bitter Taste of Regret: Her Loss, My Gain

My roommate was obsessed with love. She was dating a man ten years older than her.

Less than three months later, she got pregnant unexpectedly.

I advised her to have an abortion, but she didn't take my advice.

I kindly informed her parents. They took her to the hospital to have the baby aborted.

Her boyfriend knew about this and confronted me at the campus gate.

In a burst of panic, I died.

Before I died, I heard my roommate say, "It was this gossipmonger who killed our baby."

Upon opening my eyes again, I went back to the day my roommate found out she was pregnant.

——

"My boyfriend said that the safe period is more effective than condoms, so how did I get pregnant?"

"Could it be that I am the legendary fertile body? Is having a healthy body a kind of trouble?"

"You guys tell me. What should I do?"

I woke up from a nightmare with my body twitching. Only after hearing Hollie Cox's murmurs did I realize that I was reborn.

"We are still in school. You can't keep this child."

Aleah Price was the first to express her opinion, but Hollie retorted quickly, saying, "I know I can't have it, but there is life in my belly."

Aleah said, "Then what do you want to do?"

Hollie sighed, saying, "I have no idea. That's why I'm asking you guys."

Jessa Parker, who usually was indifferent, changed her tone and said to Hollie, "Did your pants fall off by themselves? Why didn't you ask us when you were having fun, but now that you're pregnant, and you are asking for our opinion?"

"A top-notch student from a prestigious university believes in the safe period. It seems that the popularization of physiological knowledge is lacking and inadequate."

Hollie said with a grievance, "It's my first time being in a relationship. I didn't know, I just wanted to ask for your opinions. If you don't help me, it's fine. Why do you have to mock me? Won't you be in pain in your heart?"

Jessa sneered, saying, "Of course, my opinion is you should have it. You should actively have a child at an early age. I wish you two kids in three years, and three kids in five years."

I wanted to pretend to be ignorant, but Hollie, who couldn't beat Jessa verbally, asked me, "Lily, what do you think? What should I do?"

In the previous life, when Hollie and Pedro Moore were just in love, everyone in our dormitory had objections.

Pedro was ten years older than her. He graduated from a community college.

He worked on an assembly line. With his monthly salary, he could barely support himself.

Short and fat, he was ugly and bald. He revealed uneven yellow teeth when he smiled.

Hollie was tall and beautiful. Her parents both worked for the Federal government. She was an only child.

Her monthly living expenses are higher than Pedro's salary.

But she was obsessed with love, saying, "I am not a materialistic woman. I don't care about appearances. I value him because he treats me well."

By saying that Pedro was good to her, she meant that he would say good morning and good night to her on time every day. He would treat her to Pizza Hut and drink coffee at Starbucks once every week.

She thought highly of him on the surface. Secretly, they fought and quarreled fiercely.

Every time she finished a fight, she came to me and treated me as someone to confess her negative emotions.

I comforted her and advised her to break up.

When she was better, she changed her mind and reconciled with Pedro.

She even took screenshots of our chat records, where I advised her to break up, and showed them to Pedro, which made Pedro dislike me.

In the end, her baby was aborted. She didn't dare to vent her anger on her parents. Instead, she took it all out on me.

She accused me of meddling in her business and causing the death of an innocent life.

She even instigated Pedro to kill me, causing my body to be stabbed and mangled.

Before I died, her indifferent look and malicious words hurt me more than the stabbings on my body. She said, "You gossip. Go and accompany our baby in hell."

"It is universally advised not to try to interfere or change someone's fate. Otherwise, one will have to bear the corresponding consequences."

I had another chance at life, so I chose to respect and bless her, hoping she and her dear boyfriend could be entangled together forever and have numerous kids in a short period.

I said in the same way as her, "Yeah, what should you do?"

Hollie said to me emotionally, "Lily, you are the best person in the dormitory. You have many ideas. Can you help me with some ideas?"

"I treated you as my sister and opened my heart to you. You turned around and trampled on my heart and lungs, right?"

"Is it right that good people should die?"

The pain of the previous life was vivid in my mind. I suppressed the anger and hatred in my heart. Smiling pretentiously, I said, "You should ask the child's father about this kind of thing."

Hollie suddenly realized something. Then she looked like a gentlewoman, saying, "I was confused. Why would I ask you guys? You are all little kids. Unlike Pedro, he is mature and stable. He knows how to take care of people."

Jessa exposed her, saying, "How can a man who is mature and stable let you get pregnant before getting married?"

Hollie rolled her eyes, saying, "What do you, a single woman from your childhood, know? I guess you haven't even tasted the taste of a man."

Jessa laughed out loud, saying, "Be with a better man."

Hollie didn't respond. She hurriedly went out to find Pedro.
