“Seriously, again? Dominic, can you stop acting like such a jerk whenever Edward’s business comes up? I’ve told you countless times that we’re just friends. Can you stop being so suspicious?”
Sometimes, people really laughed when they were speechless.
“Felicia, you’re out of your mind! You were the ones who took my seat first, okay? I’m standing up for my rights and it’s my fault?”
“Felicia, it hurts so bad. I can’t take it anymore, Felicia.”
Edward’s tearful moans instantly sent Felicia into a frenzy. She couldn’t be bothered to argue with me anymore.
She pushed me aside with all her strength. Then she grabbed the woman by the collar and pushed her hard onto the floor.
Felicia, at this moment, used no small force. My back slammed straight into the armrest of the opposite seat.
A piercing pain shot through my back. The woman fell to the ground because of Felicia’s force. Her loose pants slid down to her knees.
I could immediately see the scar on her leg that ran from her knee all the way to her tendon. Clearly, the collision had reopened an old wound.
The woman curled up on the floor, clutching her calf. Her face was deathly pale and the beads of sweat as big as beans pelted the floor.
Her condition contrasted with Edward’s, who had been screaming for ages yet still looked flushed. I knew this woman was in excruciating pain. Thinking this, I forced myself to stand up, pointing at the wound on her leg as I turned to Felicia.
My tone was growing increasingly impatient towards her. “Felicia, do you have any conscience? Look at this woman’s leg, she’s clearly had surgery. Do you think it’s right to attack someone like this?”
“Get out of my seat! Or I’ll call the train attendant!”
I massaged my lower back, stinging from the collision and waved at Felicia.
“Get up quickly. Go to the service counter and call a doctor to check on this woman.”
When I thought of Felicia’s resentment toward me in my previous life because of Edward, I added, “And by the way, go and find a seat for Edward.”
But before I could finish, Felicia jumped up from her seat. She grabbed my shirt, pulled out my phone and smashed it into pieces on the floor. Then she slapped me across the face.
“Dominic, if I don’t teach you a lesson, you’ll never know your place! Edward doesn’t need another seat, he’ll stay right here!”
“As for that idiot, whether she lives or dies is none of my business!”
The woman took a long time to sit up straight on the floor.
She looked in Felicia’s direction and spoke slowly, “Young lady, we’re almost at the station. Please, give me back my seat.”
“My husband promised to pick me up today. He has a bad temper. If he sees me being treated unfairly, he’ll take it out on you.”
Felicia stared at the woman sitting on the floor and burst out laughing. Her laughter grew louder and more unrestrained.
“Old hag! Do you think I was raised to be scared? How exactly will your husband take it out on me? Snap my fingers? Break my legs? I’m so scared!”
“Don’t you dare hold him back! Let him vent whatever anger he has. I’m actually eager to see what he’s capable of today. I really want to see what the temperament of a village woman’s husband has!”
“Young lady, he...”
Before the woman could finish her sentence this time, Felicia stepped forward and stepped down hard on the woman’s injured leg.
A scream erupted as the wound burst open, blood spilling across the floor. Felicia grabbed the woman’s hair and slapped her hard across the face.
“Stop talking about him and what he can do to me? I’m treating his wife like this, let’s see what he can do to me in a minute!”
With a loud and screeching screech of brakes, the train finally entered the station. I saw the gang boss outside through the window, surrounded by big men.
