Edward started to act like the same act from my past life again. Even though Felicia had a seat, he began to get up while speaking.
He could have sat in Felicia’s seat if he was uncomfortable. But he deliberately used my anger as an excuse for him to stand, forcing Felicia to release all her anger on me.
In this life, I wasn’t going to be that foolish. I thought of how that gang boss had doted on his wife when we got off the station last life and a faint smile appeared on my lips.
I looked at Felicia, who glared fiercely at me and said calmly, “I’m not angry. You two can do whatever you want to do, go ahead. It’s none of my business.”
After saying that, I sat back down in my own seat and put my earphones into my ears. Felicia was stunned for a moment when she heard my words, but she had no energy to bother with me.
The middle-aged woman had already taken advantage of the moment Edward stood up and placed her bag on the seat. Felicia’s expression instantly changed. She grabbed the woman’s bag and slammed it hard onto the floor.
“What do you think you’re doing? Did I just waste my time talking to you? My friend just got discharged from surgery. Couldn’t you have moved? How can you be so uncivilized? “
Seeing her bag smashed on the floor, the woman got flustered too. Her voice was almost tearful.
“This bag contains fresh eggs from the countryside I brought for my husband to help him recover. You dropped them like that and they must have all broken.”
She awkwardly bent down to open the bag. A strong and fishy odor hit her. Sure enough, the entire bag of eggs had crumbled into a yellow egg soup.
The smashed eggs quickly poured out of the bag amidst the crowd. Everyone around them covered their mouths and hid in their seats.
Edward glanced at it, then turned away, covering his mouth and started vomiting. Seeing this, Felicia kicked the bag far away.
“They’re broken, so be it. They weren’t worth much anyway. I’ll give you the money as compensation. We also bought your seat.”
Felicia spoke as she pulled one hundred dollars from her pocket and tossed it into the egg liquid. The woman picked up each bill from the egg splatter and placed it on the small table in front of Edward.
“Young lady, I don’t want your money. I just want my seat back.”
“Actually, I just had surgery recently. My leg was badly injured and the doctor told me not to stand for long periods of time. My husband fought for this seat for three days and nights straight. I won’t trade it for any amount of money.”
Edward stared at the one-hundred-dollar bill now soaked with egg liquid. With a look of disgust, he pushed the money onto the floor and grabbed Felicia’s hand.
“Forget it, Felicia. I won’t sit here anymore. It’s really dirty and bothersome…”
As he spoke, Edward stood up again. But before he could get up, Felicia stopped him.
“Edward, listen to me. Just sit down quietly.”
Felicia’s eyes softened as she gently ordered Edward back into the seat. The woman’s face instantly twisted with rage.
Felicia grabbed the woman by the collar. Her eyes filled with anger, then she shouted, “So you say you had surgery on your leg? Where’s the evidence? I think you just don’t want to give up your seat for a patient! You’re already so old, I just don’t understand, how can you be so heartless?”
The passengers nearby stepped in to intervene.
“Ma’am, you look like you’ve been doing hard labor all your life. We can stand a little longer. The young man just had surgery and is weak, so let’s give him the seat!”
