"Luna Zara, congratulations on your pregnancy!" Omega Yumi’s said.
She was my best friend in Northern Pack and helped me when Sarah made me her Omega.
"Thank you." I nodded and smiled again.
"I'll share the news with all of the Northern Pack-"
"No!"
Yumi frowned but followed my instructions for her to come closer.
"I wanted to tell Alpha Ryan this news first," I whispered.
"Aahh...!" Omega Yumi nodded and understood. "But Beta Demian said Alpha Ryan's location has not been tracked, Luna!" she continued.
My heart felt squeezed tightly when I heard that.
I held back my tears while carving a smile on my face.
"Maybe he had an important business."
I wanted to tell Beta Demian that he could contact Sarah to find Ryan's location.
But my lips were silent.
"Yumi, can I ask you a favour?" I asked then.
**
Sails Inn.
It's one of the quietest lakeside inns in the Northern Pack region.
This place has been my dream since a few years ago to spend time with Ryan.
I spent time with my baby at this place instead of home, full of bad memories of the past few days.
"Welcome, Luna Zara!"
It wasn't late when I craved cheese bread.
It was unstoppable until I went to my favourite bakery.
The owner greeted me, then appeared and helped me choose cheese bread neatly lined up on the display case.
"Is it enough?" he asked.
I nodded.
But when I turned towards the cashier, a stranger with a pungent scent hit me.
I staggered and faltered.
I'm sure I'll fall and hit the floor while I fly by two burly hands holding me down.
"Forgive me, Luna Zara."
That man.
The stranger man with a pungent scent helped me.
He helped me stand upright before releasing his arms and holding my weight earlier.
"Did you know me?"
I asked because I never seeing him among the Pack's herd.
But the man just lowered his head and quickly left before I could ask further about his identity.
When I returned home the next day, I saw Ryan and Sarah having breakfast together and laughing happily.
"Ryan, when you at home?" I asked.
I wanted to reach him, but Ryan pushed me until I fell.
"Dirty woman!" he insulted me.
"Ryan?" I stared at him. "What do you mean!"
"You dare to come home with that bastard baby, Zara Clover!"
"W-what? What did you say?" My gaze was drawn to Sarah, who had an annoying expression.
Ryan threw some photos in my face. The one that showed me standing next to the stranger I met at the bakery last night. Also, when I was propped up by him.
"You didn't come home after discovering you were pregnant and met him!" Ryan accused.
"I didn't meet anyone, Ryan!" I argued. "I stayed out to enjoy my time with him in a better place! Not in a home, which I had tortured all the time!"
Ryan punched me.
"Liar!" he shouted. "Then why did you ask Yumi to hide your pregnancy?"
His accusation pierced my feelings.
"I wanted to surprise you!" I said through sobs. "This is our first child after waiting so long. I wanted you first to hear it from me!"
"You lied!" exclaimed Ryan.
His finger pointed at my face, and he looked furious.
"With all this evidence and witnesses, you stood denied your betrayal?"
"Witnesses?" I am curious about the witnesses.
Ryan showed me the video with the owner of the bakery.
"That's right, Alpha! I thought Luna was looking for bread alone. But I saw them together so closed."
My eyes widen as I hear that.
"That lie!"
I tried to get up and hold my stomach, which started feeling stiff.
"Calm down, ... please calm down," I whispered.
"Liar! You tricked me!" Ryan shouted again.
"Ryan, believe me... this is your son!"
Ryan slaps my cheek again, which turns blue.
"The baby is not mine!" he insisted.
He left with Sarah, who looked back at me with a smile.
His rejection of our baby was beyond my patience.
I packed all my clothes from the closet and burned the clothes Sarah had worn while living here.
I even scattered the ashes of clothes on the bed.
I left all my hatred, anger, and hurt in that room.
My favourite room for the last ten years before it turned into the most painful hell for me.
While checking on Ryan and Sarah's whereabouts through Yumi, I contacted the Southern Pack Guard, seconded to the edge of the Northern Pack's territory.
I quickened my pace after a Southern Pack member picked me up at the territory border.
"What happened, Luna?" Omega Brandon asked.
"Take me home!"
Despite looking confused by all my belongings, Brandon still drove me out of Northern Pack territory after disguising my presence at the border.
On the way back to my Pack, the beautiful scenery of the Northern Pack territory brought back all my memories of mate bonding with Ryan until this hellish night ended my faith to survive.
"Mummy will take care of you, dear." I rubbed my stomach as I looked down.
The wolves at the border may have noticed I left, so they began to howl.
"Hurry up, Brandon!" I commanded.
I turned around and checked the back of the car, hoping none of them followed.
With tears in my eyes and pained Ryan gave to me, I wouldn't go back to him again.
Hope and love for my baby are what I must keep and nurture.
"I will let you go, Alpha Ryan Hattman and Northern Pack!"
