I did not go back to the private room. I paid the bill at the front desk, apologized to my colleagues in the group chat and said goodbye.
As soon as I got home, I slumped on the sofa with a heart full of disappointment and tiredness and recalled six years ago when Jarvis got drunk and begged me to bring him.
I helped him into the sofa in the living room and stared at his angular and handsome face.
I did not know how long I had been staring at him, but he suddenly opened his eyes. His eyes burning like a fire trapping me in them.
"Are you fallen for me?"
Hearing his question, I nodded for no reason.
He lifted the corners of his mouth slightly, the he pulled me over, pressed the back of my head and kissed me passionately.
From that day on, I became his girlfriend in name only.
I had heard of his first love, Noelle Lynch, but I had never seen her.
When he and Noelle were in a relationship, I was in my third year of college and struggling with my thesis that I did not bother to hear about their love story.
Later, when I had completed my thesis and had a lot of time, the love story had developed to the point where the man was abandoned by his girlfriend.
I thought I was another medicine to cure his heartache, but now it seemed that these six years had been nothing but a joke.
The next day, I contacted a housekeeping company and packed all the items separately.
Jarvis did not have too much stuff in my house. His house was right next door. He did not bring all his stuff to my house after living together because he found it was troublesome. Therefore, he just brought all the daily necessities over.
Now, I just needed a small cardboard box to send his stuff back.
I opened the door of his house, then I took back all the photos of myself and the couple accessories I gave him inside and left the key on the table.
I also packed up all my stuffs and some old items in my house and sent them abroad.
After doing all this, I remembered that Jarvis still had another key to my house when the agent came to inspect my house.
I called him, but he hung up again and again.
He just sent me a message. [Apart from apologizing and reflecting, I don't want to hear anything from you right now.]
I was speechless.
I decided not to deal with him and went straight to a locksmith company to replace the door lock, the handed over the house.
In the next morning, I boarded the departing plane with my suitcase.
The house that I would miss so much when I left was now gone. But I felt relieved.
Before boarding the plane, I received many birthday wishes on my phone.
My friends wished me a bright future, peace, happiness and a happy marriage!
After replying one by one, I turned off my phone.
The moment the plane took off, I thought to myself, with so many blessings, I must be happy!
