My Wife Was Kidnapped on a Livestream, and I Calmly Sent Gifts to the Kidnappe

Jack pointed angrily at the woman on the screen.

"Mr. Dawson, even if you don't want to save your wife, at least think about the innocent child in her womb. If you don't want two lives to be lost because of you, I suggest you think this through carefully!"

I looked at my wife, who was wailing nonstop in the livestream and couldn't help but narrow my eyes.

"Child? I don't want a wife, so what should I keep the child for? Jack, I've made up my mind about this, so there's no need to think about it anymore."

Jack's face darkened, gritting his teeth as he glared at me. "Fine! I hope you won't regret this."

I cleared my throat and casually spoke, "Jack, you're really funny. How could I possibly regret it? A man's three greatest pleasures are getting promoted, making money and killing his wife. I should thank this kidnapper, as he has allowed me to achieve two major joys in life at once."

The professional equipment's indicator lights kept flashing, but they still couldn't accurately locate the kidnapper's position.

The people present were so anxious that they were stamping their feet.

Alan, who was streaming live, saw that I hadn't responded for a while, so he started punching and kicking the woman in the corner.

My wife, already suffering from severe blood loss, looked even paler. She could pass out any moment.

The number of viewers in the livestream reached its peak at that moment and the screen was flooded with bullet comments, too many to read.

“Where is the hostage’s husband? Why hasn’t he come out even now?”

“She’s already had two fingers cut off. Could it be that he’s too attached to his company shares and is willing to watch her die?”

“I agree with the comment above. There’s a high chance her husband will just watch her die. Can’t you see she’s almost dead?”

After reading the comments, Alan roared furiously at the screen.

“I’m going to count to three. If you still don’t make a decision, believe it or not, I’ll kill her right now!”

I let out a deep sigh and picked up my phone in front of everyone,

The call was answered in an instant and my voice was clearly heard by everyone through the livestream.

“Mr. Dawson, looks like you still can't bear to part with your wife,” Alan said, his tone dripping with arrogance.

I couldn't help but furrow my brows.

“As long as you transfer the company shares to my name, I guarantee I won't harm her anymore.”

But just when everyone thought I was about to give up the company for my wife, my next words left everyone in shock.

“I think you’ve misunderstood something, bro. The company shares are my lifeline. How could I possibly give them to you? I only called to tell you to stop dawdling and just finish her off already. I’m getting sleepy over here.”

Alan was completely unprepared for me to say something so utterly heartless in front of tens of millions of viewers. He froze on the spot.

After a moment of stunned silence, he gritted his teeth, raised the iron hammer high and brought it down hard toward my wife’s head.

The sound echoed through the villa, followed by a chilling silence.

No one had expected this. No one could believe I had called the kidnapper just to urge him to kill the hostage.

“Eric! You… you beast! You killed my daughter! I’ll make you pay with your life!”

My father-in-law grabbed the fruit knife from the coffee table and charged at me like a madman.

The scene instantly descended into chaos.

And yet, as the one who had started it all, I remained seated calmly on the sofa, my expression composed.

“Dad, I suggest you calm down.”

The first to react was another officer, Hanley. He quickly stepped in front of me and wrestled with my knife-wielding father-in-law.

“Dad, the dead cannot come back to life. Please accept my condolences.” I picked up an orange from the coffee table and slowly began peeling it.

My father-in-law, eyes bloodshot, roared at me in fury.

“Eric, it’s one thing for you to watch her die without helping, but why did you deliberately provoke the kidnapper and get my daughter killed?”

I crossed my legs and calmly placed a peeled segment of the orange into my mouth.

After a moment, I frowned slightly. “So sour.”

Maybe it was my disregard for life that enraged everyone.

The young officers around me surged forward from all directions.

“I’ve never seen someone so heartless in my life. Even if I have to give up this uniform, I’ll beat him to death!”

“Eric, you have no respect for life or the law. I don’t care how much money you have. Today, I’ll see justice served right here and now!”

“Your wife is pregnant! Two lives gone and all because of one sentence from you!”

For a moment, the entire room was boiling with rage. Even Jack, who was closest to me, was glaring with fury.

I glanced at the viewer count in the livestream and the corner of my mouth curled into a faint smile.

“Alright, we’ve been putting on this show long enough. If you’re not tired, I sure am.”
