Right then, the system sent out a suicide warning. [Only half an hour left before the medical dispute!]
[Please proceed to the designated location to complete your suicide!] Red text showed up in front of my eyes.
I got a nurse to quickly handle the cuts on my face and planned to head to the assigned spot.
Right as I walked out of the cleaning room, Dakota came toward me with a dark look.
She caught my arm tightly.
With her clenched teeth, she said, “Alfred, did you put everything online?!”
“How could you be so harsh!”
“You asked someone to expose Camden’s past and purposely spread talk that he was hurt by several men?!”
“Alfred, when did you turn into this?!”
Dakota pulled me the other way, her eyes full of disappointment.
“Come with me and kneel to apologize to Camden!”
“This time, I won’t cover for you!” My wrist hurt from her hold and I fought back as much as I could, but Ophelia, who ran over, seized my hair again.
“Still trying to deny it?!”
"We've spoiled you too much!"
The two pulled me forward together.
I let out a quiet call before I could stop myself.
“Sister…” The two dragging me paused for a moment, then reacted right away.
“Alfred, don’t think you can escape this!”
“Saying ‘sister’ won’t do anything for you!”
I kept saying “sister.”
This sister was not them.
She came from another world, the sister who fought someone who mocked her for being mute because I spoke slowly.
Even with her face bruised, she looked proud as she said that if anyone dared to bother me again, she’d make them regret it.
Thinking of my family waiting for me in that other world, I clenched my teeth and drove my head into the wall with all my strength.
I kept hitting it and the blood came quickly.
“Alfred, are you crazy?!”
“What are you doing?!”
“Stop!” Dakota and Ophelia yelled in my ear.
My ears buzzed. “Let me go!”
“Let me get out!” I whispered.
Inside the hospital room, Camden and his parents stepped out.
They froze when they saw how I looked.
“Alfred…”
“What happened to you?”
Before they managed to say anything else, Camden suddenly broke down crying.
“Alfred looks so frightening…”
“Brother, why did you bully me online?”
As he sobbed, the sympathy on their faces disappeared, leaving only disappointment behind and blame.
“Alfred, how did you turn into this kind of person?”
“You have let us down so much!”
They scolded me harshly.
I rose to my feet with blood covering my head and heard the system’s loud alert.
[Host! Please go to the set suicide spot right now!]
[If you do not go, you will not escape this world!]
Fear rushed through me. I forced myself up and ran down the stairs.
Right then, I heard Dakota and Ophelia shouting from behind me.
“Alfred, if you dare to leave, our family won’t acknowledge you as our son anymore!”
"Alright!"
"What did you say?"
“I told you, I’m giving you my life back!”
I turned and smiled, not staying any longer.
Downstairs, a middle-aged man’s face tightened as he drew a knife from his bag.
He screamed wildly. "Where's the doctor?!"
“Where are the doctors from your hospital?!”
While others fled in panic, I forced my way forward and drew my folding knife.
The man’s knife was buried in my chest, stabbing me seven times in a row.
With what strength I had left, I stabbed him in the temple. He froze in surprise, then dropped to the ground.
With blood streaming from my mouth, I let out a laugh and sank to the ground as well.
“Mom, I’m back…”
“Alfred’s home…”
“Help! Someone!”
“Help this boy!” the passersby shouted in panic.
Several people joined forces and held the man down.
Minutes later, the hospital announcement system declared: “Emergency! A 222 and 999 incident has taken place in the first-floor outpatient hall!”
On the third floor, the Granger Family went still, with Dakota, the doctor, being the first to move.
“A medical fight broke out! Someone needs emergency treatment!”
Worry filled her face as she got ready to rush to the emergency room to help.
Right then, a nurse hurried over and called out loudly, “Dr. Granger! It is your brother!”
“It is Alfred! He stepped in to stop the medical fight.”
“But, he could not be rescued and passed away…”
