Bella's Pov
**14 hours later**
"We have arrived in San Francisco," the driver said over the intercom, his voice crackling through the speaker.
I straightened in my seat, getting ready to get off the bus. I glanced at Lissa beside me and mumbled, "I guess it's time."
"Are you ready?" She asked, looking at me.
"Yes, we are coming off here," I pressed the stop request button and the bus slowly stopped. We got off.
"That was a long ride. My butt is sore and my legs are still sleeping," she yawned while stretching.
"It wasn't that bad," I said while laughing at her.
"It might not bother you, but it is a different story for me. I'm used to private planes with comfortable seats, not whatever that was," She complained while fake crying.
"Cut the drama queen act," I rolled my eyes at her. "Let's get something to eat, I'm starving," I added. I dragged her while she was still complaining to a nearby coffee shop.
The scent of brewed coffee beans mixed with the scent of pastries filled the air. We grabbed a seat close to the window. I grabbed one of the menu cards and looked at it.
"So this place is called Grindhouse Café," I mumbled.
"What can I get for you ladies?" A waiter asked.
"I'll have a mocha with a sandwich and wrap. What about you Lissa?"
I wasn't getting any answer from her and turned around to look at her and saw that she was admiring the waiter.
"Lissa," I slapped her lightly on her hand to get her attention. She snapped out of it and looked at the menu.
"I'll just have a caramel macchiato with the sandwich and wrap as well,"
"Ok, ladies, I'll be back in a minute," he said, and I smiled.
"I see even waiters aren't safe from you, huh?" I said teasingly.
"Well it ain't my fault he's so handsome. Didn't you see those muscles? And I bet there's abs under that apron as well," she looked at him like he was some kind of dessert. I rolled my eyes playfully at her. She looked at me.
"Oh I forgot you only have eyes for Mr, What's his name," acting like she forgot.
My mood instantly turned sour. "Can you please not talk about him."
"I'm sorry Bel. I thought you were over it now."
"It's ok, I'm going to have to get used to it. I can't keep ignoring it or hiding from him forever."
"Uh-huh, yeah I understand. Makes sense. You do you," I looked up at her in disbelief.
"Are you even listening to me?"
I turned in the direction she was looking, only to find out the cause of her being distracted.
"Never mind, I got my answer. Let's just drop that conversation here."
"Here are your orders,"
"Hi cutie, What's your name?" She bluntly asked.
"I'm Michael and you are?" he asked, smiling.
"I'm Alissa. So when are you free?"
" Lissa, what's wrong with you," I swatted her hand and burst out laughing.
"Did you forget what we came here for," I reminded her.
"Well a side quest isn't bad either," I laughed even harder.
"You are serious, huh?"
"Yes I am. So Michael, What's your answer?"
"I'm not sure as yet but how about I give you my number and we can correspond,"
"That's a lovely idea. Bel, a pen and paper please," she opened her palm in front of my face while wiggling her fingers. Not even giving me a glance.
"Well what makes you think I have any?"
"Don't get me started, you thrive on organizing. Now cut the crap and hand it over,"
"Ok here you don't have to be so mean about it," I said pouting while handing her the items.
"Now that's what I am talking about, thank you," she said while writing.
"Here you go handsome,"
"You can add yours to my phone," she handed him her phone. He handed it back to her and excused himself because he has other customers to handle.
"What was all that about,"
"Your girl is a fun and horny maniac. What did you expect?"
"Well you have a point,"
"Alright enough of that let's eat and get going," I bit into the sandwich and the taste of the seasoned vegetables and chicken lit up my taste buds. It was so delicious I even felt for another one when I was through, but I'm not going to spend on another one.
"Well this is the best sandwich I have had in a while," Lissa praised.
"Aren't your fancy foods this delicious?"
"Yes it is but they can't compare to this and to think this is only a sandwich," she said, taking a sip of her caramel macchiato.
"We are going to have to come back here. I want to try more things."
"That's fine by me," I said. "Are we going to leave a tip?" I added.
"You know damn well we are. Got to thank Mr Cutie for his hard work," she said excitedly.
Ok, le'ts go, mom and dad are waiting for me,"
Now that our belly was full we finally noticed our surroundings. People walking, dogs barking and the sound of taxis beeping.
"You didn't tell me this place was so busy and lovely,"
"Lissa, stop acting like this is your first time here. You know this,"
"Mood spoiler. Couldn't you let me act damn," she said pouting and folding her arms.
We hailed down a cab and shared my destination. He drove off only for the car to come to a screeching halt. My heart skipped a beat as I glanced through the window trying to see the cause.
