Gabriel's Pov
I woke up to the sun shining in my face, stretching lazily as I reached for her. The bed was cold and the sheets were already empty. For a moment, I thought she was in the bathroom, but the silence told me otherwise. I searched the room, hanging on to a little hope that she was still here but she wasn't.
I started getting ready while thinking, 'Did I upset her somehow? Did I hurt her? Or did she regret being with me?' I rubbed my hand across my face and groaned.
"This is so frustrating," I grumbled. "It's going to take a while to find her. The only thing she told me was her name and it wasn't even her full name," I said to myself. I took out my phone and called my assistant.
"Dex, I want you to dig up every file of females with the name Bella and have them on my desk before I reach the office," I said.
"Ok boss," he replied.
I got my things and headed to the door when I heard something crack under my shoes. I looked down and saw a picture of Bella. I bent down and picked it up. It was her Identification Card.
"Well, well, well. Aren't I a lucky guy," I said and smirked. I opened the door and went straight to the company.
I went in and closed the door. I sat at my desk and Dex walked in. "Report?" I said.
"Here's all the files on all the Bella's in the city," he said, handing them to me.
I skipped through all of them but she wasn't on any of them. I took out the card and looked back at the name.
"Look for a 20-year-old Bella Danvers," I said and showed him her picture. He looked at me as if I had grown two heads.
"Stop looking at me like that and do what I say," I said, getting annoyed.
"Ok sir," he said, smiling, then walked off.
"Bella, why did you leave?" I said while looking at her picture.
10 minutes later
"Sir I found her information, it's saying she is a college student at..." he said and I grabbed the file from him. He looked at me bewildered but I didn't care about him. I scanned the document and saw that she is a student at the University of San Diego. She is studying to get her Bachelor of Accountancy.
"No wonder she ran. She is so young," I said, still looking at the file knowing that's not going to stop me from finding her. I didn't even see the look Dex was giving me.
"I'm going to give her a few days before going to look for her. I don't want to scare her away," I said even though I can't wait to see her beautiful face.
"Sorry to have you here today Dex. I know it's a Sunday but things need to be done. I will add extra to you pay for this month." I told him.
"It's no problem at all," he said with a sly grin on his face.
"Don't smile like that, it's creepy," I said looking at him with disgust written all over my face.
"Now can you tell me why you are talking to me so formally?" I asked, looking at him.
"You are asking me to search for a girl. It's like you are a different person bro. What happened to you staying single?" He asked.
"Well, she is special. I haven't felt this way before," I replied.
"At least you aren't gay," he said, bursting out laughing. "You have a lot of people thinking you are though. You are lucky your grandma and aunty knows better," he added.
"Are you talking mom?" I asked him.
"Yes who else would I call aunty?" he said , rolling his eyes.
"I can't bother with the arranged marriages, I don't want to be with someone I don't even like or can't stand to look at their face. So if dad thinks I am gay let it be," I said getting bored of all the questions. "Alright enough questions now, time to work," I added.
I looked at her picture one last time before putting it in my bag and dived straight into my work for the day.
