married to the mafia boss Summary
Chapter 1 of married to the mafia boss
I take off the baked cake from the oven and start adding cream to it. I add some flowers made with cream and after finishing, I add a cherry to the top. This is my signature cake, red velvet cheesecake. My all-time favorite. But today is one of those days where a mafia boss is coming to see me.
Not just see me, he is coming home to secure our arranged marriage with my family. I have never seen him face to face. I have seen him on social media and magazines, with different girls all the time, and I am sure they must also be good in bed with him. The thought of it makes my heart race and also makes my blood boil, because no girl wants their future husband to be seen and sleeping with other chicks.
I place the cake on a tray and carry it to the dining table. Our head house servant Violet helps me to place it on a cake stand.
"I am sure your in-laws will love this cake," Violet says with a smile. She wipes the table clean.
"Oh, I wish I never had to meet them." I bite the corner of my lips in nervousness.
"Don't worry, everyone gets nervous the first time." She encourages me, her eyes wrinkling as she claps her hands together.
"Sofia!" Mother shouts from the stairs.
"Yes, Mom," I respond immediately.
"You are supposed to be getting ready." She says while fanning her face with her hand. She has been tired a lot, arranging everything and the house décor.
I jog up the stairs and run upstairs. "Sí, Mama," I say while entering my bedroom.
She follows me inside and closes the door. "This is your dress."
On the bed lies a dark red dress which is quite sexy, and I am sure when I wear it, it will reveal more of my skin. I gulp down anxiously.
"Okay, Mama," I say with a nod.
"Come on, go shower fast," she commands.
I rush for a shower and get out of the bathroom smelling like fresh strawberries. I wear the dress and it makes me look so beautiful. It has a deep side slit, revealing my thighs and legs on the left side. It's Versace, so it is obviously breathtaking. Father wanted me to look so beautiful that Luca Moretti will not be able to say no.
I don't want to get ready because clearly I don't want to get married.
Mother rushes to my bedroom, a makeup artist along her side. Soon she starts curling my hair like magic, and she does my makeup dark red smoky eyes, nude lipstick. Damn, the final look makes me look super hot, as if a model from fashion magazines.
Mother hands me a mini fan and gives me strict orders to keep fanning myself until the guests arrive, and that's what I am doing. I walk around the house apprehensively with the fan near my face. My mind keeps playing how I will talk to Luca Moretti for the first time.
All the information about him scares me. I keep walking back and forth in the living room, my heels making sounds with each step I make.
"Excuse me? Where is Giuseppe Romano?" a deep voice asks.
"Upstairs," I say without looking at the person.
A perfume of Dior Sauvage clings to the air. Father doesn't wear Dior Sauvage, and none of our soldiers do either. It takes me a while to realize.
"Can you please call your father?" he says.
I nod and look at him. My heart skips a beat, and I start sweating even under the AC and with a mini fan in my hand. I take three small steps back.
"Luca Moretti," my voice comes out in a whisper.
He is looking down at me. His eyes are pierced on me. His hair is slicked back, and he is wearing a black elegant suit. Tattoos on his knuckles. Behind him are two men, broad just like Luca. I assume they must be his brothers. More people follow an old man with salt-and-pepper hair and a woman in her late 40s. They must be his parents.
He walks further and approaches me. He leans in and kisses me on both cheeks. "Hello, mia cara." His tone is pure and deep, which echoes deep in my heart.
"The Morettis are here," Father says as he descends the stairs with my mother at his side.
We are all seated in the living room. Father is talking about the new alliance, plus Luca and my wedding. I am seated opposite Luca. He is fidgeting with a cigar in his fingers, and his gaze is on me. It lingers a bit more at my cleavage. Then a smirk plays on his lips. I shift nervously in my seat.
Mother tells me to serve everyone a glass of champagne, and I take the tray and start giving everyone. Luca takes all his time to look at me once I am close to him.
"Did you wear this red dress to tease me?" he whispers to me, his eyes never leaving mine and a smirk playing on his lips. God, he looks so dashing, more handsome than in the magazines.
"No!" I say blankly.
He nods and picks up a glass from the tray. Why would I wear the dress to tease him?
