Mafia's Forbidden Love

Louisa’s POV

“Let's talk another time. You can to bed without me.” Sebastian said and walked away, not sparing me even a glance.

I followed him as he made his way into his private study. Even though I'm never allowed on this floor, I'm curious to know what he's discussing with Isabella.

“We will be together soon? Your sister will get suspicious if I don't return home tonight.” Sebastian said, and there was a bit of silence. Isabella was speaking, but I couldn't catch a thing she said.

“I love you, Isabella,” Sebastian said, and the little hope I heard unto crashed as I heard him profess love to my sister.

I quietly walked away, broken and numb.

Staring into the mirror, that was when I realized my bracelet was gone. I must have lost it at the club.

There are two of them. I lost one of them at the hotel three months ago. The universe must have been giving me a sign that this marriage was doomed, but I failed to listen.

That bracelet was a gift from Sebastian as a wedding gift. It was my most precious possession, but after what I witnessed this evening, I don't think I value it that much anymore.

I packed my hair in a bun and went to sleep.

The following morning, I woke to the sun piercing through my skin. I opened my eyes, and the curtains were all up.

“I slept in” I whispered as I checked the clock for time.

“Honey, is everything alright with you?” I heard Sebastian's voice and my stomach churned. To think he has the guts to face me after cheating on me for so many years and pretending like nothing is going on.

This is all my fault, I should have known something was wrong when he drastically changed towards me two years ago after Isabella returned from her studies abroad.

He would skip dinner and go on endless trips, I didn't want to admit what was playing out before my very eyes. So I convinced myself I was the problem.

I worked harder to be a good wife, but I was fooling myself all along.

Even though Sebastian never told me he loved me, I thought he liked and adored me enough to make this marriage work. I pursued him endlessly, and when he proposed marriage, I thought I had him for life.

“What do you think?” I answered him indifferently and stood up from the bed, gently caressing my protruding stomach.

I saw the shocked expression on his face but couldn't care less.

“There's going to be a party tonight to celebrate my birthday. I couldn't do that yesterday as I was too busy with work. Make sure you have food and drink prepared. It's going to be a feast.” Sebastian said, and I chuckled softly.

“And I invite your sister and parents. I didn't think you would mind, of course you wouldn't. I have to run, see you later.” Sebastian said in one breath and ran off as usual.

Night came, and I stood there wondering whether or not I wanted to attend this so-called party.

I have never been more confused in my entire life. Maybe I should expose them both and get everyone, especially my parents, to see their true colors.

What then happens to my baby? How am I going to explain all of this to my baby in the future?

“You can do this, Louisa,” I exhaled sharply as I comforted myself. I'm going to get through this night first, and then I will think of what to do later on.

Sebastian and I walked into the hall side by side. My husband is a captain who reports directly to the Don. It's only normal if he has a lot of important dignitaries on his birthday.

“Dear sister!” I heard Isabella's cynical laughter and cringed.

“Louisa don't be rude. Your sister is trying to be nice to you, and all you do is make things difficult for her. It's not her fault you were swapped at birth. Why take it out on her?” Sebastian scolded me.

“Excuse me,” I said and walked away to the stand where food and drinks were being served. I gulped down a glass of juice, hoping it would calm down my nerves.

I turned around, and Isabella was there in my face, pouring the red wine into the glass she was holding on my dress.

“Oops sorry I didn't see you there, now your beautiful dress is ruined. Shall I clean it for you, sister?” Isabella said, her voice laced with sarcasm and mockery.

I clenched my fist into a ball as my body vibrated in anger. Not wanting to cause a scene, I decided to walk away.

“Not so fast Louisa, you and I have unfinished business and a lot to talk about.” Isabella pulled me back.

“I have nothing to say to you,” I gritted between my teeth and snatched my arm away from her.

“I'm pregnant!” Isabella announced, and I was forced to a halt.
