The hospital continued to contact Parvez.
Finally, they sent a message telling Parvez that they would send my body to his home.
Parvez was still kissing Lucia.
Parvez offered Lucia the fancy jewelry she wanted.
Lucia was very happy.
I laughed again.
Parvez's career was going downhill. He wasn't supposed to have much money. The assistant at home was also on my payroll because he was broke. The money he used to buy Lucia's jewelry was mine.
I decided to go back home to see if my body had arrived.
My body finally reached Parvez's house. I wanted to scream at the sight of it.
The assistant rushed out of the house to check on the guests.
When she saw my lifeless body, she screamed.
"Are you the victim's family?" someone from the hospital asked.
"I'm just her assistant. Her husband is away at the moment. I will contact him.”
Parvez could not be reached because he did not have his cell phone with him.
The assistant finally contacted Lucia.
Parvez used to say that I was incompetent as a wife even though I did everything he wanted, served him wholeheartedly, gave him my full attention like washing his dishes, his clothes, and much more.
Yet he never once defended me in front of his family.
"How come you're not pregnant yet?"
My mother-in-law was so frustrated that she threw things around our house until some of them were broken. One of them was my husband's. Instead of getting angry with his mother, my husband scolded me and blamed me.
"It's because you are not pregnant yet. If you don't get pregnant, we'd better get divorced. My mother has already arranged my marriage with another woman.”
I cried hoarse at that point and told Parvez that he didn't want me anymore, that he had deliberately stayed away so that I wouldn't get pregnant and he could finally marry the woman his mother had introduced him to.
I never knew who she was.
I eventually got pregnant, but I didn't tell Parvez right away because I wanted to surprise him that night.
Unexpectedly, we were attacked after returning from dinner. The villain wore a mask so I couldn't see his face.
The villain hit Parvez so hard that Parvez lost his balance and fell to the ground.
The bad guy immediately pulled out a knife and tried to stab Parvez, but Parvez yelled at me to save him.
I searched for something until I found an iron rod nearby.
I dared to attack the villain to save Parvez.
The criminal immediately attacked me and managed to stab me.
I can't get over it.
Was it because I didn't scream that Pravez thought I wasn't in enough pain that he thought I would wake up and be okay?
Lucia didn't answer the assistant's phone.
"Who?" asked Parvez.
"Her assistant."
Lucia showed Parvez her phone screen when the assistant called.
"Turn it off! How dare she call you."
"No need to get angry, Pravez. Who knows if it's important."
But Lucia turned off the phone as Parvez had told her.
After dinner, Lucia whined and asked to stay at the hotel.
"Please, Parvez. I can't be alone."
"All right, Lucia. Just take it easy. I'll keep you company so you don't have to be afraid anymore. Tomorrow we will go to the psychologist for therapy."
"Thank you Parvez."
My family, who had been informed of my death by the assistant, tried again to contact Parvez through various means.
Yumna finally saw my body and screamed hysterically. She burst into tears.
"My sister, why... Why did you leave? You shouldn't have left!"
I'm beyond help, Yumna.
I want you to take all my wealth for your school fees and living expenses. I am not willing to let my money be spent by Parvez's old lover for her pleasure.
"Why are you crying?"
My mother pulled Yumna, who was kneeling beside my body.
"It can't be Neira."
My mother shook her head in disbelief.
"Neira couldn't have died so quickly."
I thought my mother was trying to deny my death because she didn't want to accept the fact that I was dead. But she didn't seem to believe it was me at all.
"Mom, it's definitely Neira."
"No way! I don't know who it is, but I'm going to report it to the police and file a missing persons report."
The next day my husband came home alone. He had taken Lucia to a psychologist and then to his house.
Parvez was furious to find so many of my family gathered at his house.
"What's going on?" he asked.
Yumna was still crying over my death.
"Neira," my father replied softly.
"She is still in the hospital," Parvez said. "You shouldn't be here! If you want to see her, go to the hospital! She has a lot of family, but why does she keep asking me to come?"
Parvez's attention turned to the coffin lying in his house.
"What is this? A coffin?" asked Parvez after he stopped walking. "Damn, who put a coffin here?"
"Sir, Mrs. Neira is dead. Inside this coffin is Mrs. Neira. Since yesterday, the hospital has been looking for you because they wanted to inform you that Mrs. Neira is dead," the assistant said.
"What do you mean? It's impossible that she died from a small stab wound."
