Love Is In Vain, Deep Affection Is Hard To Pay

“Got it, I’ll come after I change my clothes.”

When I arrived at the press conference, I just heard the host inviting the person in charge to speak on stage.

I adjusted my suit and just took a few steps when I was stopped by a figure.

“Garrick, you should take a good rest. After all, you had a high fever last night. I have asked Arnold to speak on stage for you.”

I looked at Wilona in confusion and noticed the faint kiss mark on her half-covered neck and my heart was filled with pain.

She subconsciously pulled up her collar and said with a guilty look, “You also know that Arnold has only been in the company for a short time and the people below are not convinced by him. He needs more opportunities to show his abilities. You are an old man in the company and everyone respects you very much. I guess you don’t care about these vanities, right?”

When Arnold passed by me, he looked at me provocatively and said to me in a voice so soft that only two people could hear, “You are such a poor guy. I robbed your fiancée and even your current wife doesn’t love you. Let me tell you, Wilona only has me in her heart. If you don’t believe me, just wait and see.”

I was silent, but the old employees in the audience couldn’t sit still and kept whispering in indignation.

Arnold glanced at me proudly from the stage and began to speak passionately and the audience applauded.

Seeing his high-spirited appearance, Wilona’s eyes flashed with admiration.

But my heart was extremely cold because the content of Arnold’s speech at this moment sounded very familiar to me.

It was exactly the same as the speech I prepared for a month. The speech was locked in the drawer of my office. No one except Wilona could open it.

But the result of my hard work was used by her to please other men.

When Arnold came down from the stage, a reporter was busy interviewing.

“Mr. Rowse, I heard that the success of your company’s automotive intelligent system this time is inseparable from the contribution of architect Garrick. What do you think about this?”

Arnold looked disapproving.

“This is wrong. After all, one person’s power is limited. The intelligent system can be built and all the team members have contributed.”

He wiped out all my hard work for five years in a few words.

During those years, I worked without sleep and even slept in the company. The longest overtime was up to 20 hours.

I worked hard on every design and every version of the plan.

But what made me feel sad was that Wilona on the side was clapping desperately.

“Arnold said it very well. He is not arrogant or impatient. He gives all the credit to his subordinates. It’s amazing…”

Seeing my eyes, her voice stopped abruptly.

“Garrick, I don’t mean that. Of course, I know that you are the biggest contributor here.”

I looked at her coldly.

“You don’t know what this system means to me. I have been looking forward to this day for five years.”

Seeing Arnold coming, Wilona had no intention of listening to me.

“I will definitely compensate you for this matter in the future. If you have anything to say, let’s talk about it when we go home tonight, okay?”

After that, she led Arnold to his seat and sat next to him.

In the future?

Did we have a future?

After Arnold returned to his seat, an employee who stood up for me was sarcastic to him.

“It’s outrageous. What kind of person is he, so shameless!”

“That’s right, that was the result of Garrick’s hard work, but he took it for himself after just a few days!”

“I really feel sorry for Garrick, everyone can see how hard he worked.”

Hearing this sarcasm, Arnold said to Wilona with red eyes.
