After tutoring, it was already dark.
After Beatrice repeatedly refused, Will insisted on sending her back, saying it was dangerous for a girl to go home alone after dark.
The villa was brightly lit and Beatrice saw two intertwining figures through the window.
The night wind was a little chilly and she couldn’t help sneezing. She was hesitating whether to go up.
Seeing her embarrassment, Will put his suit jacket on her and suggested taking a walk with her.
But before they had taken two steps, a wolfhound jumped out from the garden and started barking at them.
Beatrice screamed and fell to the ground, her legs trembling and her knees bruised.
She still vividly remembered the time when debt collectors released wolfhounds to bite her.
She swore that her biggest fear since childhood was dogs.
After she took a deep breath and finally calmed down, she couldn’t help falling into deep thought.
Harold had known and understood the situation for so many years, so he had always prohibited keeping dogs. But now, how could this pet that was strictly prohibited appear in the garden out of nowhere?
Beatrice couldn’t figure it out.
But the next second, she suddenly had the answer.
Viola rushed out of the villa and hugged the wolfhound.
“Sorry, sorry, Luna is usually very well behaved, but today she lost control because she met a stranger.”
Beatrice was still in shock and remained kneeling. Just as Will was about to help her, she was pushed aside by Harold.
“You are so reckless. It doesn’t matter what the matter is, it can scare you like this.”
Hearing this, Beatrice was a little dazed.
This real fear would sometimes wake her up from her dreams, but now it had become a no-brainer in Harold’s words.
Harold grabbed Beatrice and lifted her up, completely ignoring the bloodstains on her legs.
It was a normal cringe, but both men frowned at the same time.
Will was worried, but Harold thought she was being pretentious and there was a hint of displeasure in his expression.
He felt that Beatrice was extremely abnormal tonight. He glanced at the nervous man beside her and blurted out.
“Who is this man? I’ve never seen you like this before.”
It was just a simple sentence, but Beatrice was stunned on the spot after hearing it.
Of course, she understood what he meant, her face turned red and she retorted softly.
“Brother, I’m just here to be a tutor. Mr. Matthews and I are good friends, right?”
Will didn’t care about the conversation between the two people at all.
Looking at the blood stains on Beatrice’s legs, his brows frowned even more tightly. He took out a handkerchief from his pocket, bent down and blew on it while helping her treat the wound.
“Do you need my help? I can help you leave if necessary.”
Beatrice sniffed and a warm feeling flowed through her heart.
But she knew Harold’s personality. If she left now, not only would she have a hard time in the future, but it would also be very likely that Will would suffer.
So even though she knew that Harold’s words were meant to humiliate her, she naturally could not implicate Will at this time.
Beatrice gave him an apologetic smile. “I’m fine, thank you for the coat.”
Just as she put her hand on the suit jacket and was about to hand it back, she was held down by Will.
“Give it back to me next time.”
Beatrice did not insist any further, but just nodded and replied softly, “Okay.”
Harold might not have planned to let her go so easily tonight and after Will left, he sent Viola away.
He easily pulled off Beatrice’s suit jacket at the entrance of his house and punched the wall.
“The Dolton Family can’t afford to support you and can’t afford to buy you a coat, right? You’re going to wear someone else’s!”
