My Husband Called Me a Cheater on Live TV, So I Chose His Rival

SIENNA'S POV

The flashbulbs outside the hospital lobby felt like a firing squad.

Security forced a narrow path through the shouting journalists, shoving microphones away as I climbed into the back of a black town car. My lower body throbbed with a persistent, dull ache, every bump in the road sending a sharp jolt through me.

"Take me to the Bel-Air estate," I told the driver, pressing a hand against my side.

Five minutes later, my phone vibrated in my palm. Diane's name flashed across the screen.

I answered and held the phone to my ear. "Diane."

"Where are you going, Sienna?" my mother asked without greeting me.

"Home. To the estate."

"Turn the car around," Diane said, her voice brisk and devoid of warmth. "You cannot be here."

I gripped the phone tighter. "That is my house."

"The paparazzi have blocked the front gate three cars deep," Diane said. "Brynn has her new makeup brand launch tomorrow morning at nine. The network is filming her prep at sunrise. If you show up looking like a ghost in hospital clothes, you'll drag your sister's entire launch into your scandal."

"I was discharged thirty minutes ago," I said, my voice shaking with quiet disbelief. "I have nowhere else to go."

"Find a private hotel under an alias," Diane instructed. "Stay out of sight until we announce the mid-season press statement. Don't ruin Brynn's moment."

The line went dead.

I lowered the phone and stared out the tinted window at the passing city lights.

I had a net worth in the tens of millions. I had keys to penthouses in New York and private jet memberships on standby. Yet right now, when my body was torn apart and my baby was gone, there was not a single door in this city that would open unconditionally to take me in.

The town car suddenly slowed, pulling over near a quiet side street in West Hollywood.

A sleek dark SUV pulled up directly behind us. The passenger door opened, and Adrian stepped out into the evening mist. He walked up to my window and tapped the glass.

I rolled it down two inches. "What are you doing here?"

"Your driver works for a contractor I hired this morning," Adrian said, his expression completely neutral. "Get out of that car, Sienna. You're coming with me."

"I don't need your charity, Wolfe."

"It's not charity. It's an unlisted address," he said. "Unless you want to spend the night sleeping in the back of an Uber while reporters track your license plate."

I looked at him for five seconds. Exhaustion pressed down on my shoulders like lead. Without another word, I pushed the door open and stepped into his car.

The drive along the Pacific Coast Highway was silent.

Forty minutes later, the SUV turned down an unmarked private road that wound along the cliffs of Malibu, stopping before a massive glass-and-concrete estate tucked between the bluffs. There were no gates with visible street numbers, no signs, and no paparazzi in sight.

Adrian led me through the front entrance. The interior was sleek and modern, bathed in soft architectural lighting, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the crashing dark waves below.

Two staff members stood quietly near the kitchen foyer, greeting him with a nod.

"They've already signed NDAs with strict financial penalties," Adrian said, turning to me. "No one talks. No one takes photos."

I leaned against the kitchen island, folding my arms tightly over my chest to mask the trembling in my fingers. A bitter smile touched my lips.

"So this is your plan?" I asked, looking up at him. "You think this is the easiest time to finally sleep with me?"

Adrian didn't flinch. He didn't look offended, nor did he look amused.

"You already lost a marriage because people thought we slept together," Adrian replied, his voice calm and steady. "I'm not giving them the satisfaction of finally being right."

He gestured toward the wide floating staircase leading to the upper level.

"The master suite upstairs is yours," he continued. "It has a private terrace and a separate security code on the door. I stay on the ground level. You won't see me unless you want to."

I stared at him, caught off guard by the absence of arrogance in his voice. "Why are you helping me, Adrian?"

"Because your mother used my name to stage a circus," he said, stepping toward his study. "And I don't let anyone use me without paying for it."

An hour later, I was standing in the open living room with a mug of hot tea when Adrian walked out of his office, holding a tablet displaying security logs.

"I ran the network diagnostics on my hotel suite from two nights ago," Adrian said, his voice tightening. "The transmitter Diane used was hooked directly into the Grand Carlyle's internal circuit forty-eight hours before we even booked the room. Someone gave her access."

"Carter had access to your schedule," I said, setting my cup down with a sharp clatter. "You gave him your travel itinerary during the fund negotiations!"

"I don't give Carter Vale my private suite numbers," Adrian said, his voice rising a fraction as he took a step forward. "He isn't smart enough to coordinate a broadcast tap, Sienna. Someone on your team orchestrated this from the inside—"

The moment his voice rose, my body reacted before my mind could catch up.

I flinched violently, taking a rapid step backward until my heels hit the base of the open floating staircase. My eyes darted to the sharp stone edges of the steps behind me, my muscles locking in pure terror.

Adrian stopped dead in his tracks.

He saw my rigid posture, the way my hands clenched against my sides, and the panic flashing across my face.

Without a second of hesitation, Adrian took three full steps backward, creating a wide distance between us. He raised both of his hands to waist height, palms open and completely visible in the light.

"I'm not moving toward you," Adrian said softly.

The silence between us stretched, heavy with the phantom pain of my fall.

I let out a slow, shaky breath, though my guard remained entirely up.

"Every man says he's different," I said coldly, keeping my back away from the steps.

Adrian kept his hands where I could see them, his dark eyes steady.

"Then don't believe me yet," he said.

He turned around and walked down the hallway toward his bedroom, leaving me alone in the vast, quiet room.

At midnight, I sat at the desk in the upstairs master suite.

I didn't call Marcus Cole. Marcus was on the Vale Media payroll, loyal to Diane before anyone else.

Instead, I dialed a private number I had kept saved for three years—Nathan Frost, an independent corporate litigator known for tearing entertainment conglomerates apart.

"Nathan," I said when the line connected. "It's Sienna."

"Sienna," Nathan answered immediately, his tone sharp and alert. "I saw the news. Are you safe?"

"I'm safe," I said, my voice clear and completely steady. "I need you to pull my contract with Vale Media. Trigger Section 14—the emergency exit clause for personal endangerment."

"That will sever you from the reality series effective immediately," Nathan warned. "Diane will counter-sue for breach."

"Let her," I said. "Along with the exit clause, I want an emergency injunction filed tonight. Freeze all rights Vale Media holds over my personal medical records, hospital footage, and ultrasound files. If Diane airs a single second of my miscarriage, I want a fifty-million-dollar damages claim filed."

"Consider it done," Nathan said. "What about Carter?"

"Carter's attorney requested an expedited paternity comparison using the prenatal blood sample from my appointment before the livestream," I said, staring at the dark ocean outside the window. "He submitted his own DNA. Authorize the lab to release the result to his personal lawyer tonight. Unredacted."

"Right away."

Ten minutes later, my tablet chimed with a confirmation receipt.

CARTER'S POV

Across town, in the high-rise offices of the Vale legal department, Carter sat in his chair, a half-empty glass of scotch on the desk beside him.

His private attorney rushed into the room, holding an urgent courier envelope that had just arrived from Nathan Frost's office.

"Carter," the lawyer said, out of breath. "The prenatal screening report just came through. Sienna's independent counsel authorized the release."

Carter snatched the file from the lawyer's hands, his fingers trembling as he tore open the seal.

He flipped past the medical disclaimers straight to the certified genomic analysis on page three.

His eyes locked onto the bold print at the bottom of the page:

*Fetal DNA Paternity Analysis: Ten-Week Maternal Blood Panel.*

*Alleged Father: Carter Vale.*

*Probability of Paternity: 99.99%.*

Carter's hand went entirely limp.

The glass of scotch knocked over, spilling dark amber liquid across the mahogany desk, but he didn't move. He stood frozen in the center of the room, staring at the paper as the color completely drained from his face.
