My Husband Called Me a Cheater on Live TV, So I Chose His Rival

I was ten weeks pregnant when twenty million people watched my husband ask if our baby was even his.

The proof looked perfect. At 2 A.M., I entered Adrian Wolfe’s hotel suite. At 4 A.M., I left in different clothes, with wet hair, while my husband’s greatest enemy stood half-naked behind me.

I told Carter nothing happened.

He called our baby another man’s child.

Then he shoved me away.

There was a marble staircase behind me.

I woke up without my baby, without my marriage, and with my own mother already promoting the footage for our reality show’s season finale.

The only man who never touched me was the one everyone accused me of sleeping with.

Six months later, I stepped onto America’s biggest red carpet holding Adrian Wolfe’s hand.

This time, the rumors were finally becoming true.

And my ex-husband was watching.

SIENNA'S POV

The studio lights were blinding, but I kept my smile locked in place.

Around us, five high-definition cameras tracked every gesture for the SVÉRA Beauty anniversary livestream. Carter stood beside me in a tailored charcoal suit, his arm resting securely around my waist. When he turned and pressed a soft kiss to my forehead, the live comment section on the floor monitors exploded with heart emojis.

"You look breathtaking tonight, Mrs. Vale," he murmured near my ear, loud enough for his lapel mic to catch it.

My hand rested against my stomach beneath the white silk of my gown. I was exactly ten weeks pregnant. In my clutch backstage, a sonogram picture showed a tiny, fluttering heartbeat that the doctor had confirmed this morning was completely healthy. The clinic had drawn routine prenatal bloodwork before I left. I hadn't told Carter yet. I wanted tonight to belong to our little family, away from the brand deals and the production crew.

Then my mother's voice cut sharply through my in-ear monitor.

"Carter, Sienna, look at camera two," Diane instructed from the control booth. "The numbers are peaking. Carter, hint at the next generation. Tell them the Vale legacy is growing. We need the headline before the midnight press release."

Carter had taken my family name when we married, and Diane had folded even that into the Vale brand.

I stiffened. Diane never missed a chance to monetize our lives for the family reality show, but this was my child. I looked at Carter, hoping he would wave off the cue card.

Instead, Carter offered the camera his signature charming grin. "SVÉRA has always been about family," he began, letting his hand slide lower over my waist. "And very soon, Sienna and I might have a new addition to share with all of you."

The studio audience gasped, applause breaking out across the floor.

Before I could speak, the massive LED wall behind us flickered. The soft pink SVÉRA branding vanished, replaced by a harsh blue screen that blinked once, twice, and cut to security camera footage.

The room went dead silent.

The timestamp in the corner read *2:14 AM*. The footage showed the private penthouse hallway of the Grand Carlyle Hotel. On the screen, I was walking through the corridor, knocking on Room 801, and stepping inside as Adrian Wolfe opened the door.

A collective murmur rippled through the hundreds of people in the studio.

The screen jumped to *4:40 AM*. The same door opened. I walked out wearing an oversized dark sweater that clearly belonged to a man, my hair visibly damp, pulling a coat tightly around myself as I hurried toward the elevator.

Beside the video, a screenshot of a text message filled the rest of the display:

*If he finds out, my marriage is over.*

My breath caught in my throat. The air turned completely frozen.

"What is this?" Carter asked. The polished warmth in his voice vanished, replaced by a sharp, cutting edge.

"Carter, wait," I whispered, reaching for his arm. "Let me explain—"

He jerked his arm away from my touch as if I were toxic. He didn't lower his microphone. He stepped directly into my space, his jaw clenched, his eyes dropping straight to my stomach.

"You went to Wolfe's hotel room," Carter said, his voice ringing through the speakers to twenty million viewers watching across the country. "And now you stand here playing the devoted wife."

"Carter, turn off the mic," I pleaded, panic rising in my chest. "It’s not what it looks like. Listen to me!"

Carter stared down at my stomach with undisguised disgust.

"Is it even mine?" he asked.

The question hit me like a physical strike. The silence in the studio was absolute.

Over my earpiece, the production assistant shouted to cut the feed. But Diane’s voice immediately overruled him, cold and commanding.

"Leave the cameras on," Diane ordered. "Viewership just jumped forty percent. Keep rolling."

Carter turned his back on me and walked off the stage.

I gathered the heavy train of my dress and ran after him into the backstage corridor, away from the flashing lights.

"Carter! Stop!" I caught up to him by the private VIP stairwell. "You have to listen to me! Adrian called me because your secondary investment fund was about to collapse. He was threatening to pull his liquidity and bankrupt you!"

Carter spun around, his face pale with fury. "So you went to his suite at two in the morning? In the middle of the night?"

"The sprinkler system in his sitting room broke right after I got there," I said, my voice shaking as I tried to steady my breathing. "My clothes were soaked through. Adrian gave me a dry sweatshirt so I could leave without freezing. We spent two hours looking over your balance sheets! That text wasn't about an affair—it was about your financial fraud!"

"Do you think I'm stupid?" Carter snapped, taking a step toward me. "Adrian Wolfe doesn't review balance sheets with married women in the middle of the night. You slept with him."

"I did it to protect you!"

"Don't use that baby to trap me after sleeping with him," Carter snarled.

The cruelty in his words felt like a knife twisting in my ribs. "Look at my phone," I said desperately, trying to reach into the clutch I had snatched from the backstage table on the way. "The timestamps on my messages don't match that clip. It was edited to ruin us—"

"Get your hands off me!" Carter shoved my arms away.

His hands hit my shoulders with enough force to throw me off balance.

My high heel caught on the edge of the polished marble landing.

The world tilted. My hands grabbed empty air as I fell backward down the wide flight of stairs.

My body slammed hard against the stone steps, once, twice, a sharp, violent pain tearing through my lower abdomen before I hit the bottom landing.

I lay there against the cold floor, unable to pull air into my lungs. A sharp, burning cramp gripped my stomach, and when I looked down, a dark red stain was already blooming across the white fabric of my gown.

"Carter..." I cried out, my voice breaking into a ragged sob. "The baby... Carter, please..."

Footsteps hammered down the corridor above, but Carter remained frozen at the top of the stairs, staring down at the blood with wide, paralyzed eyes.

Suddenly, heavy footsteps sprinted past him.

A tall figure rushed down the steps three at a time. Strong arms slid beneath my back and knees, lifting me carefully from the hard floor.

I blinked through blurred vision to see Adrian Wolfe looking down at me, his jaw tight, his dark eyes fierce with urgency.

"Stay with me, Sienna," Adrian said, his voice deep and steady despite the chaos. "Call an ambulance! Now!"

From the top of the stairs, Carter looked down at Adrian holding me against his chest. Carter's expression hardened from shock into pure venom. Instead of coming down, he stepped back into the shadows and turned away.

The smell of antiseptic woke me.

I opened my eyes to a stark white hospital ceiling. The room was quiet except for the rhythmic beep of a heart monitor.

My hand moved instantly to my stomach. It was flat and empty. The sharp, dull ache beneath my skin told me everything before anyone spoke a word.

A female doctor stepped into the room, holding a medical chart. Her expression was gentle, filled with practiced sympathy.

"Mrs. Vale," the doctor said softly. "I'm so sorry. The trauma from the fall caused a miscarriage. We couldn't save the pregnancy."

I didn't answer. I couldn't.

On the small bedside table, my phone lit up continuously with news alerts.

*Carter Vale Announces Immediate Separation Following Livestream Scandal.*

*Vale Media Productions Releases Teaser for Upcoming Season: THE FALL OF SIENNA VALE.*

I tapped the screen with trembling fingers. The network had already edited the footage into a dramatic promo. The teaser ended with a three-second clip of my body falling down the marble stairs, followed by a dramatic black screen.

My mother had aired my fall. My husband had abandoned me before the ambulance even arrived.

Something inside me snapped. The tears that had been burning behind my eyes simply dried up, leaving behind a cold, hollow silence.

The door clicked open.

Adrian walked inside, wearing a dark wool coat. He stopped near the entryway, his eyes scanning my pale face and the empty bed.

"Get out," I said, my voice flat and lifeless.

Adrian didn't approach the bed. He stayed by the door, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small metallic flash drive. He set it down quietly on the edge of the table.

"Before you decide I ruined your marriage," Adrian said calmly, "watch the unedited hotel footage."
