Leaving the Scumbag, Gaining A Billion

At eight in the morning, the person had already left, only leaving two messages on the phone.

[There is breakfast on the table outside, remember to heat it up in the microwave.]

[I will be busy with company matters for another week. I will make time to spend with you before the wedding.]

Lidia turned off her phone, did not ask much about his schedule, ate breakfast and went out.

She had to apply for the visa herself and her biological parents could use their connections to expedite the process so that she could get the visa and green card before the wedding.

In the next few days, she dealt with the things around her and said goodbye to her good friends one by one.

Int the private room, her friends expressed their understanding of her impending departure.

“We all guessed that the protagonist of the wedding might change.”

The friend opened Instagram on her phone and showed it to Lidia.

In Instagram, Jeffry showed off his affection in a high-profile manner.

“Although the woman didn't show her face, we all knew it wasn't you.”

She peeked at their happiness through Instagram.

They went hiking and camping together, watched meteor showers and went to the amusement park.

The most recent update to their Instagram was of the two of them trying on wedding rings in a jewelry store.

In the photo, the two of them were holding hands and the feeling of happiness filled the screen.

And, all of these posts could not be seen by Lidia.

A notification came on her phone at the right time.

[The heir of the Hopkins Family spent five million to buy a diamond necklace just to make his wife smile.]

In the blurry photo, she recognized the woman as Pamela at a glance.

She smiled bitterly in silence. He was unwilling to give a wedding gift, but instead spent a huge amount of money on Pamela.

“Lidia, there's no need to be sad for a scumbag. You deserve better.”

“They are just scumbags and bitches and there will be no good ending for them.”

“Lidia, Jeffry is not worthy of your love.”

If it were in the past, she would have cried in despair, but her love had been completely worn out by Jeffry in these few days.

She would never feel sad for him again.

Lidia smiled and said, “I don't care anymore. But can I trouble you with something?”

In a few days, she would be gone forever and her identity would be cancelled.

She must take advantage of these few days to get everything done.

The countdown was shortened day by day and she thought she would not see Jeffry again before the wedding.

But when the man appeared in front of her, she just raised her eyelids and had no reaction.

There were still four days before the wedding and even after returning home, she was still working on his computer.

Lidia sat cross-legged on the sofa with a laptop on her lap, watching the video playing in silence.

She had seen those scenes countless times and her mood was no longer affected by them.

This was her gift to congratulate Jeffry on his wedding.

Jeffry stopped and looked up and Lidia subconsciously closed the laptop screen.

“Lidia, are all the things for the wedding ready?”

He did mind the empty room after all, so he asked again, “It's so empty. We're getting married in four days, remember?”

Lidia was shocked that he still remembered this and nodded in agreement. But it was not their wedding, but his and Pamela's.

The mobile phone on the coffee table lit up. Lidia picked it up quickly, but Jeffry still saw two words.

“What visa? Where are you going?”

Lidia responded calmly, “Fraudulent news, where would I go?”

Jeffry breathed a sigh of relief. “That's right. Lidia, can the honeymoon trip be postponed? The company has a big project that can't be done without me.”

“Well, I'll follow your arrangements.”

Lidia knew that it was Pamela who would not let him go. Ever since she appeared, she wanted to be with Jeffry all the time.

Looking at the woman's indifferent face, Jeffry felt a little uneasy.

Lidia was born in the Lester Family. She was very outstanding but not loved by her parents, so she was particularly sensible and lacking security.

Ever since they got together, she always asked, ‘Does he love her?’

Since the engagement party, her attitude has changed and her strange attitude makes him feel uneasy.

“Lidia, don't worry, wait until I'm done with my work, then...."

Lidia said softly, “There is no future.”

“What did you say?”

Lidia looked at him and asked back instead of answering his question, “Where's your ring?”

“It seems to have fallen outside.” Jeffry recalled that it seemed to have fallen there when he and Pamela were trying on rings in the jewelry store.

He was just about to make an excuse when he heard the woman's voice cut him off, “Forget it if it's lost, just buy a new one.”

He and Pamela had already bought new rings, so the old one would just be better to throw away.

Jeffry was stunned. When did Lidia become so generous?

Her indifferent attitude made him feel upset. He wanted to say a few more words, but Lidia picked up the computer and left.

“I'm going to rest.”

The two of them were so familiar with each other for years, but that day, they seemed like strangers.
