But the next second,Eine appeared in front of us with the child in her arms,pretending to look hurt.
“It’s all my fault.“I shouldn’t have brought my child here.I didn’t know you two would fight because of me.I’ll leave right now.As long as you’re both okay,I’ll do anything.”
She turned to walk away dramatically and Noah instantly reached out to stop her.The child in her arms burst into loud cries.
Noah looked at me with burning hatred.“Do you really have to push them this far?You were the one who hurt Eine first.I’m only trying to apologize on your behalf.”
“Shannon,you’re cruel to a mother with a child.No wonder you lost ten babies.Maybe if you had even a little kindness,one of them might have lived,but…”
“Shut up!”I screamed and shoved him away hard.
He stumbled back and the child shifted in his arms,revealing the small lucky charm necklace on his neck.
“Why is he wearing the lucky charm I bought for my baby?”I shouted.
Noah instantly pulled Eine and the child behind him,glaring at me like I was dangerous.I couldn’t control myself anymore.I rushed forward,reaching out.
“Give it back!Give that charm back to me!”
Eine took the charm off the child’s neck and pretended to hand it to me.
“Shannon,I didn’t know it belonged to your baby.Noah saw that Timothy liked it,so he gave it to him.Please don’t take it to heart.”
I forced myself to stay calm and reached out to take it.
But right then,her mouth curled into a small triumphant smile and she loosened her fingers.
The charm hit the floor and shattered into tiny pieces.
“Oh no!”Eine gasped,hiding behind Noah as if she were terrified.“I really didn’t mean to.I didn’t think it was so fragile.”
But in her eyes,I clearly saw pride and satisfaction.She wanted to break me.
I stared at the shattered pieces on the floor.The entire house had already been cleaned of every trace of my lost children.That charm was the only thing left.
I dropped to my knees,gathering the pieces with shaking hands.My tears fell so fast they blurred everything.I clutched the broken fragments to my chest.
“This was the last thing I had from them…”
Eine tilted her head and said like it was nothing,“Don’t be sad.They’re already gone.Maybe you’ll have new children in the future.”
Her words were like fire,burning everything inside me.
I ran past Noah and slapped her hard across the face.
She stumbled backward and even the child fell to the ground.The whole villa was filled with crying.
“Go to hell!All of you go to hell!”I screamed with all my strength.
Ignoring the blood running down my hand,I slapped her again and again.Her face swelled instantly.
Only then did Noah finally react.
He shoved me violently away and roared,“Shannon!What the hell are you trying to do?”
I hit the floor hard and I heard the clear sound of a bone breaking in my wrist.But Noah didn’t even look at me even once.
“That charm was a gift from me to Timothy.Can’t you even tolerate a child anymore?”
“She dropped it on purpose!”I cried,staring at his eyes full of disgust.My tears finally fell uncontrollably.
For a moment,he hesitated.But then Eine tugged weakly on his sleeve,tears shining in her eyes.
“Noah,I didn’t mean it.Maybe Shannon is just…sensitive,because she lost so many babies…”
Her words cut through me like knives.
I screamed and grabbed her hair.“Give it back!Give my baby back to me!”
Eine didn’t expect it and cried out in pain.
Noah exploded.He slapped me hard across the face to protect her.
I was forced to let go and fell to the floor.My lip split open from the force.I held my face,shaking,staring at Noah in disbelief.
He froze too,like even he didn’t expect himself to hit me.Regret flashed in his eyes,but when he heard Eine sobbing again,his expression became cold.
“It seems your time in the hospital taught you nothing.Maybe someone needs to show you proper manners and the morals a Mrs.Harvey should have.At the very least,you should learn not to attack a child or Eine ever again.”
He waved his hand and guards rushed into the room,pinning me to the floor.
Without looking at me once,he ordered coldly,“Send her to the family etiquette training center.Until I say otherwise,she is not allowed to leave.”
My blood went cold.Noah knew exactly what the Harvey family called“training.”It was torture.And he was still willing to send me there for her.
I fought with everything I had,but they dragged me away.
Out of Noah’s sight,Eine looked directly at me with a cold,evil smile.Then,she slipped a bank card into the etiquette trainer’s hand.
