Alyssa's POV
I took a few steps back in bewilderment as I retreated. Tears welled up.
Caradoc gave off the aura of being a wild beast that had just awakened from hibernation.
Sleeping, he offered no risk. However, now that he was awake, I had a very real fear that something bad was about to happen.
I took a few steps back and turned around.
As I exited the room, Mrs. Rondelle ensured that the door was securely shut behind her.
She comfort me, "Don't be worried, Madam. I promise you he won't hurt you."
when she saw how surprised I looked, she added.
It's possible Caradoc can't take everything in right now since he just woke up. Let's get you situated into the guest room for the night and we can talk in the morning. Since Madam Laura values you, she may be on your side once she regains consciousness. Everyone needs some time to process everything that's happening so quickly. Everything will turn out OK in the end.
A mental tempest had swept over my head. Although I had pondered the possibility that Caradoc may die away someday, I had never given any thought to the possibility that he could regain consciousness and banished me out.
I murmured, "Mrs. Rondelle, my things are still in the room..." as I eyed the door to the master bedroom. It was Caradoc's chilly glare early on that should have been my first warning that he would never accept me. His rejection of me was so chilly I could feel it from the door.
Mrs. Rondelle exhaled deeply before sighing, "Let's leave it there for the time being if there's nothing too serious. I assure you that I will deliver it to you the following day. " Mrs. Rondelle said, "I've been working for him for a very long time, I know him well. Although he seems to be threatening from the outside, he is warm and kindhearted man. "
In response, all I could do was sigh and keep my mouth shut.
Although I am legally married to him, this is really our first encounter. It was not surprising to anticipate that he would be hostile.
That particular evening, I had a hard time dozing off to sleep. My mind were wandering all over the place, making it impossible for me to focus on anything.
My life's routine had been significantly disrupted as a result of Caradoc's recuperation. At seven o'clock the next morning, Mrs. Rondelle entered the guest room where I was sleeping and proceeded to move in all of my belongings from the main bedroom.
"Madam, breakfast is ready," Mrs. Rondelle told me.
"You need to talk to him."
"I don't think he wants to get to know me."
"I asked him whether he was angry when I told him that Laura likes you, but he didn't show any evidence of hostility."
"His attitude might be a little bit better today."
My eye was immediately attracted to Caradoc, who was using a wheelchair and sat in the eating area as I entered the room. He sat up straight despite being in a wheelchair. He would surely be tall and strapping if he stood up. Filled with uneasiness, I sat myself down at the dining table as Mrs. Rondelle set up a place for me. In spite of the fact that I was reaching for my fork, Caradoc remained silent.
I gave him a sideways glance, and that was enough to get Caradoc's notice.
His eyes gave the impression of being wide maws that would eat anybody unfortunate enough to cross their path.
"Hey. I'm. I'm Aly." I stammered.
Caradoc reached for his coffee and started drinking it immediately. The tone of his voice was lifeless and indifferent, "I heard that you may be pregnant with my baby."
I was mid-bite when I suddenly became aware of a constriction in my chest, and it prompted me to stop eating.
"Would you rather have an abortion performed surgically or medically?"
He spoke in a calm and composed way.
I lost all ability to think clearly.
Mrs. Rondelle thought that the topic being discussed was too eerie, so she proceeded to add, "Master Caradoc, the child was Madam Capell's idea."
" Do not try to influence me by bringing up my mother." Caradoc growled, giving Mrs. Rondelle the cold shoulder. "
"Caradoc."
Before I could complete my sentence, I was cut off by Caradoc,
"Why are you using my name in such a manner? "
After a brief period during which I was rendered speechless, I finally said, "What else should I name you? Honey? "
The thin lips of Caradoc contracted, and he presented an angry appearance.
I made an effort to soothe him down before his wrath could become uncontrollable.
"No, I'm not going to have a kid any time soon. The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was to inquire about obtaining a tampon. "
Caradoc said nothing. He took a sip from his coffee. I had an upset stomach and started eating breakfast.
After finishing my meal as soon as I could, I got up from the table to get my things.
It made me nervous to live in the same house with Caradoc.
"Make sure all of the required documentation is ready. "
Caradoc said it with a chill in his voice, "we'll be having a divorce. "
I stopped in the middle of my step, yet it didn't surprise me at all.
"Are we getting a divorce at this second? "
"Within a few days," Caradoc added.
Since of the shock that she had the night before, Laura had to be taken to the hospital this morning because her heart attack. Caradoc wanted to wait until his mother's condition was stable before discussing the divorce. "Okay, just let me know when," I said before I rushed back to my room. I returned with my baggage in tow.
Through the crack of the bedroom door, I was taken aback when I recognized a person lurking in the dim light of the living room. Indeed, it was Asdin.
He seemed to be shaking uncontrollably as he stood close to Caradoc's wheelchair,
Asdin said he placed a box of vitamins on the coffee table.
The guy took the things from the table and tossed them away.
"Brother Caradoc!"
Asdin wept.
"If you don't like these top-of-the-line vitamins, I can get you something else. Don't get too fired up. " As Asdin was wrapping up his statement, a second bodyguard gave him a kick to the back of the knees, which sent him down to his knees.
I held my breath.
While smoking a cigarette, Caradoc said,
"My dear cousin, I'm sure it must come as a disappointment to you that I'm awake now."
The bodyguard pulled a lighter out of his pocket and lit the cigarette in his hands.
In spite of the fact that he had just recently awakened the previous evening, he was already drinking wine and smoking cigarettes.
He continued, "Of course, I'm delighted that you're awake...," in between sobbing as he said this.
"In all of my years, I've fervently wanted that you'd-"
Caradoc strained his eyes before continuing.
His comments, although being delivered in a casual manner, were oozing with the atmosphere of deadly intent.
"You took shares from my attorney; aren't you going to admit your guilt?" "
He pressed the cigarette butt on back of Asdin's hand.
Asdin groaned in pain.
After that, he yelled in a furious manner, "Get out of here!"
"If you let me find you do anything again, I will feed you to the wild wolves. "
Because of his panic, Asdin was a total wreck as he walked out of the room, and my heart was unable to return to its regular rate.
Fear caused me to shake all over.
I ran out of the house in a hurry, grabbing my luggage by the handle with both hands. And his words feeding to the wild wolves kept recurring on my mind.
